Thanks Carmie!

When I woke up the storm of nervepain had gone. I slept 7,5 hours. I felt a little better. Today I cycled 6 km for groceries.

Now I watch the tour de France.

Hi Melissa, glad you get reprieve from the nerve pain, that must be such a relief when that comes.

Glad you’re still enjoying watching your sports, great distraction to watch something you love. I’m off to Australia Zoo tomorrow. I’m excited as they have meerkats now. It’s a beautiful zoo where the animals have lots of space.

It’s going to be a lovely sunny day and about 20 degrees and we’re in winter here.

Tonight I watered the garden again. It is very hot. The plants are thirsty! It went ok.

Glad the watering went okay today.  I live in a flat so I don’t have a garden but I love gardens. I was at my sister’s place last weekend and it was so nice to just be able to go into the backyard. I think nature is very good for our health and so beneficial in withdrawals.

I spent lots of time in nature last weekend, went to a waterfall, a creek, a dam, the beach etc. Wish I was back in nature.

Enjoy your garden💚

That sounds lovely Carmie! Ik like to be outside now with the sunny weather as we don't have that much over here.

Yesterday I cycled for groceries 6 km. And I did some cleaning. I hurt my arms and hands. I had had 6 hours sleep.

Last night I slept for 6 hours. Too short for me. I went  with my boyfried to the supermarket by car. My hand really hurts now!

Last night I only slept for 5 hours. So now I have several short nights in a row. My nerves and muscles feel a lot more sensitive now unfortunatelly.

Last night my boyfriend helped me with the garden. He had pruned the Ivy for me and watered the garden. My hands hurt too much to do that. I was very relieved when the job was done!

Today I have to take it easy again. I hope to enjoy the weather with my boyfriend. It is a bright sunny day! I'm hurting all over but I want to make the best of it.

Yesterday I sat with my boyfriend in the garden in the shade. It was a very hot day. Later we went to the lake. It was warm the entire evening.

Last night I slept fot 5,5 hours, maybe 6. I woke up by workmen early this morning.

My right hand hurts. It is extra painful by the lack of sleep.

Last night I slept a little longer, maybe 6,5 hours but not very deeply. However this night was a little better.

I'm back from the hospital. The painspecialist and I agreed to keep my dosis on 125 mg lyrica.

I told her about TMS and that I suspected that my withdrawal pains might be TMS. She thought it is quite possible. The doctors can't find anything.

She said that there is a new experiment in the hospitail for patients with neck pain. Normally they cannot move their neck without lots of pain. Now they get a VR device on their head (virtual reality glasses) and they see a game on it. When they play the game they have to make all kinds of movements, also movements with their neck. During the virtual reality game those patients don't suffer neckpain! And more important: They don't suffer pain afterwards where they would normally suffer pains for days after it!  That proves that there is something in the mind that causes needless pains. But with lots of distractions the pain stays away even when moving around a lot.

She encourages me to look for selfhelp books with mind body exercises and to do more meditations. It might help. I'm not so good at meditations yet and I have to wait for some books about TMS to arrive. But I want to give it a try. It might be the key for me.

It may be harder to sleep when the night is warm, sleep wants it cool.

Even so, it sounds like you're doing a little better. Sleep is healing, that will help you recover from the pain.

What time of day do you take each of your drugs? What is TMS?

I know, it is the summertime that makes it harder to sleep longer. In the evening many people are outside. In the early morning neighbours are busy in their gardens with noisy equipment. Workmen start earlier because they want to avoid the heath. In the beginning of the night I can fall asleep. Mostly I wake up 5 hours later, go to the toilet, and then step into my bed again. Normally I fall asleep and I sleep a few more hours. But now it is allready light, I hear the birds singing and my body just wakes up!. On top of that the bedroom is much warmer than usual. I expect that at the end of august maybe september these troubles will disappear.

I used to take 41,66 mg lyrica 3 times a day 8 hours apart. And at the same time 3x 3 beads of amitriptyline.

Now I change it to 50 mg lyrica in the morning, 50 mg lyrica in the afternoon and bedtime 25 mg lyrica. + 3 x 3 beads amitriptyline. In the daytime I need it the most. When I lay down in bed I'm ok and don't need it as much.

I'll wait and see if this will give me a small improvement.

TMS is discovered by doctor Sarno. TMS = Tension Myoneural Syndrome. The divided mind is a book of doctor Sarno. On you tube there are many videos about TMS.

Since the updose I have some small improvements. Unfortunatelly I'm still very handicapped and keep suffering lots of pain. But I don't cry all the time anymore. Mentally I feel a lot better now. Physically that is another cup of tea and still difficult.

The pain is a little bit better however.

Good to hear you're feeling a bit better. It's only been a month on this dosing.

What times of day do you take each drug, and at what dosage? Do you feel anything from the amitriptyline? What time do you wake in the middle of the night? Is this a consistent pattern?

Please keep daily notes on paper about your symptoms, including your sleep pattern, when you take your drugs, and their dosages. This will help separate the heat effects from your base pattern. This can help in adjusting dosing.

I journal every day.

For me a typical day looks like this:

08.00 getting up. Take my medication

I mostly feel very painful when I wake up.

11.00 My medication is working fully and I feel a little better. I can try to do some chores. Not easy but I struggle trough the day. I also rest a lot by sitting and reading or watching tv.

16.00 I take my medication

a new fresh dose makes me feel a little better.

18.00 dinner

After dinner I feel more relaxt. I sit down a lot.

22.00 bedtime medication and I go to bed

I try to fall asleep

00.00 I finally fall asleep.

05.00 I wake up and go to the toilet

I try to fall back asleep

If I cannot sleep again I just lay down resting

08.00 get out of bed

and so on....................

Thank you. When do you take amitripyline? Please specify.

Does amitriptyline make you sleepy?

The 9 beads of amitriptyline gave me a tiny bit more relaxation. But nothing spectacular. 9 beads is only 2 mg after all. Maybe it is the super low dose why the result is small.

The 2 mg doesn't make me sleepy.

The most improvement came from the extra 50 mg lyrica.

I take the amitriptyline together with the lyrica.

08.00 3 beads

16.00 3 beads

22.00 3 beads

Would you be interested in adding 3 beads of amitriptyline when you wake up at 5 a.m.? It might help you get back to sleep.

You would be taking 12 beads per day in all.

Be sure to keep daily notes on paper about your symptoms, when you take your drugs, and their dosages. Use a simple list format with time of day on the left and notation (symptom, drug and dosage) on the right.

Hi Alto thanks for your reply. I don't want to updose anymore. Mostly I am so tired after several bad nights that finally I'll have some beter nights sleep.

I just wait and see how my sleep devellops. The biggest problem is my daily pain. After a good night the pain is a little less intense of course but it is still there.

I can cope with the short nights. I just stay in bed resting. There are periods that my sleep is better.

Thank you alto. I had a few better nights in a row now.  And it really helps.

My new med scheme also seems to help a bit. I take now more in the day time and less lyrica at night. In bed I don't need the lyrica that much.

50 mg lyrica in the morning + 3 beads ami

50 mg lyrica in the late afternoon + 3 beads ami

25 mg lyrica bedtime + 3 beads ami

Good to hear. When did you start that particular drug schedule?

I changed my med schedule since 18th july.

Looks like it was a good change. It takes about 4 days for that kind of drug change to register in your system.

Yesterday was ok. I slept 7,5 hours.

Last night I couldn't sleep. Only wild dreams. I woke up frequently. It was too hot in the bedroom. The weather in the Netherlands is very hot at the moment, over 30 degrees celcius. In my country we are not used to this heat. I really enjoy the warm nice evenings. But our houses are getting hotter and hotter. Most of us over here don't have an airconditioning because we usually don't need them! We haven't had much rain since march. The gardens are very dry. On top of that, the house I live in is designed to keep the heat inside. :D It saves money in winter when we need to do the heating on. This summer is more like the summers in north France. We are lucky. Most of the years our summers are around 20 degrees and with lots of rain.

Today I did the laundry and I watered the garden. My face ache is getting worse. Chewing and talking hurts. I have to take it easy today.

I watched the tour de France.

Hi Melissa,

I see that your sleep has been getting better. That’s great news, I’m happy for you.

I’m sorry your house is so hot. I can’t sleep without air conditioning in summer. It gets very hot here. It’s winter now and it’s usually about 20 degrees or so during the day, though we’ve had some cool mornings. Our winters never last very long.

I’m glad the Tour de France has been good for distraction. I’ve been watching lots of YouTube videos lately. There’s so much information about pretty much anything.

I’ve also bought lots of art and craft supplies. Also a great distraction.

Sending you hugs🤗

Hi Carmie, it is always good to have a hobby in withdrawal. In Australia it gets much hotter. In the Netherlands we are complaining about 34 degrees celcius! 😀 That must be nothing over there.

There is so much to see and learn on You Tube! I like it too! very much!

Last night I slept 8 hours.

Today was a very hot day, 34 degrees.

I did the laundry and I spent 2,5 hours to water my garden. A big chore for me now! I watched the tour de France.

My right hand and fingers hurt. Now I take it easy. Tomorrow it will be 35 degrees celcius! No airco.

Last night I slept 6 hours. Later I fel again asleep for 1 hour.

It is now super hot in my house. Between 27 and 32 degrees celcius, depending on which floor you are.

My arms and hands are very sensitive. (nervepain) My sleep could be better.

I watched the Tour de France. Beautiful etappe in the mountains!

Tonight I cleaned the house. Now my feet and hands hurt and  I have to rest.

Saturday we had some rain. It rained for 20 minutes! It is still very warm weather over here.

I had a nice long weekend with my boyfriend. He helped with the vacuuming. My sleep is up and down because of the warm bedroom.

We went together to the lake again.

My hands and fingers still hurt. I can't stand too long. Walking is hardly possible. I have to make the best of it

Today I was woken up by noise. It turned out that the the housing association had sent some painters. I had to get out of bed to open the windows for them. The next days the painters will be around the house.

I had a too short night because of the painters. I am feeling my nerves more now. I mowed the lawn and did the laundry in despite of my nervepain. The weather will be very hot tomorrow over here.

I received some books about chronic pain and tms. At the moment I am reading In "the meaning of Truth" by Nicole Sachs. I wonder what she has to say more about journalling ...............

This morning I had to open the windows for the painters at 07.00. I slept for around 7,5 hours.

The workmen were hammering the gutter as well.

It is a very hot day again. Now I am watering the garden. And I've done the laundry.

I don't feel the burning skin sensation anymore. The updose helped with the burning skin.

But the burning around the muscles and tendons in my arms/legs/hands/feet/fingers/toes is still there. Very painfull.

When I move too much or when I do a chore that is just a bit heavier I get a storm of nervepain through my body. That is still there unfortunatelly.

I didn't sleep  very long. My hands are burning today because of the lack of sleep.

I just finished Nicole Sachs her book. The most important information were a few examples of patients that she healed and a chapter about how to journal. Tonight I'll start the journalling her way.

I slept maybe 7-8 hours, woke up with painfull arms. The weather is very very hot. Tonight I'll have to water the garden.

I'm sipping on water ice from lemonade!

I really regret it that I went down from 100 mg lyrica to 75 mg lyrica. Now I have more pain on 125 mg lyrica than at the time on 100 mg lyrca.................. I don't understand why. I hope it will improve some day, but till now it doesn't.

Last night I slept 7 hours. The weather is cooler. I cycled 12 km up and down to a supermarket. I hadn't visited this shop in a year because I couldn't cycle up to it. I managed it for the first time in a year. Now I'm very trired, have a little bit nervepain everywhere and the back of my knees are stif from musclepain. I'm so relieved I made it! :)

Last night I slept 7 hours. Went to the toilet and went back to bed. Then I slept another 3 hours! I woke up in a nightmare the second time.

I took my medication. I suspect that the nightmare came because my meds wore off.

I woke up with painfull arms and legs. The inside of my hands hurt too. I have musclepain and nervepain from my trip too the supermarket yesterday. Today I take it easy. I did some laundry. I'm happy that it is finally raining!
