Melissa5000: nerve/muscle pain/burning after fast taper

Recommended Posts

Carmie

Hi Melissa,

Im glad you’re getting some sleep. I’m sorry you’re waking up with nightmares though. Im sorry you’re still getting the nerve pain too. Withdrawals cause so many weird symptoms. One of these days all symptoms will be gone.

Our symptoms seem to peak when we do too much or have extra stress in our lives. Sometimes though they ramp up for no extra reason, just because we’re withdrawing. This is the biggest struggle of our lives but we will get to the end one day.

Sending hugs🤗

Thank you Carmie for your inspiring words!

Today I did some cleaning. I slept 7 hours, just a bit too short. Now I suffer from a little nervepain. My body feels very tired. I'm a lot more sensitive when I don't sleep enough. And I still have to recover from the 12 km bicycle ride on wednesday.

I slept 6 hours last night. I cycled 6 km for groceries. I did some cleaning.

And I read in the great pain deception.

To improve my walking I started to walk slowly around the livingroom with the kitchen timer. I started at 5 minutes a day. Now I am walking every day 10 minutes. So there is some improvement. In future I hope to increase the amount of time I can keep walking. I see it as a very modest graded activity plan.

Last night I slept probably 6 hours but not very deeply.

This afternoon I drove with my parent's to my sister's house 175 km away. It was my brother in law's birthday. They have a 2 year old daughter. We spent the day with lots of family in their back yard. It was sunny and 27 degrees.

My right hand is very sensitive now because of the lack of sleep. I hope I'll sleep better this night. New chances! :D

Hi Melissa,

It sounds like we have similar nerve/muscle pain symptoms.

I get a kind of stabbing pain in my right thigh, pain behind the knee and from the foot right up to the buttock (sciatica).

The night before last I got half a nights sleep, did too much gardening yesterday and today I am a total wreck.

I'm crying, feel weak, feel like I'm coming down with a cold and of course nerve and muscle pain in legs.

Anyway, comparing notes, it's really baby steps that will help us in the end.  Too much too soon, and it's like the "snakes and ladders" game.  We end up sliding down to the bottom of the ladder.

Hello JC, thank you for stopping by. Your pains sound horrible too.

I also have many stabbing pains around my body. Tingling and stabbing pains, sometimes numbness and musclecramps. Mostly in my hands/feet/arms/legs but they can show up everywhere, even in my face. I don't even mention them anymore because the burning nervepain is more painful.

When I do too much after a too short night of sleep I will pay for it for many days, even weeks.

It is very tricky to find out how much you can do on a day without overdoing it. i don't want to do too much. Because then you get boom and bust, like the ladder and snakes game.  But on the other hand I want to try every now and then if I am allready able to do a little more. So difficult! How much I can do also depends on how much sleep I got the night before .

Last night I slept 7 hours. I did some laundry, mowed the lawn and did some pruning. Now I am tired and I have to sit down.

I'm reading now.

I slept 7 hours or maybe a little more. Today I did the laundry and I cycled 6 km for groceries. And I walked 10 minutes through the livingroom as an exercise.

I'm happy with this in these days.

Glad you had an ok day Melissa,

Isnt the sun beautiful, it makes me smile. I also love the rain too. I love all the seasons, cozying up indoors while it’s raining outside or going to the beach or in nature when it’s sunny.

Take care💚

Every season has its charm!

Last weekend I had a very nice weekend with my boyfriend. We did lots of shopping. On monday afternoon, just half an hour before the shop would close, we visited a bicycle shop. I was curious about e-bikes. Now that I have big troubles cycling I often long for a bicycle that has electrical support. I did a test drive. I was surprised about how easy it went! I found an e-bike that had a nice discount because it was a showroom model. I ordered the bike on the same evening. We were the last customers before the shop would close.

This afternoon I had to pick it up. I drove up there by bus, had to walk 800 meters, payed for it and had to wait for 20 minutes in the shop standing for the bicycle to be prepared an the insurance to be arranged. Standing for so long is really challenging for me. But I saw so many things in the shop and there were other customers and there was so much distration that for a short moment I realized that I felt normal again. I think this was because of the different environment and by all the distraction. So I made it waiting while standing. Then I had to cycle 6 km home. I had to drive over steep hills like a viaduct and an aqueduct. But with the electrical support I could drive up hill! :D I have an electrical modest engine in the bicycle and a big battery at the back. At home I can charge the battery. I was tired when I came home.

I am so happy with my new bicycle! I feel that I get some of my freedom back.

My sleep was up and down. Sunday night I didn't sleep at all, last night I slept 7 hours.

Last night I had nasty dreams, slept 7 hours,

I felt mentally very unstable when I woke up. I was anxious about tapering in the future and that I could not taper everything off because of the pains and withdrawals. I felt down, like crying.

So I went into the garden and mowed the lawn. Then I felt a little bit better but very tired. Tonight I walked a little bit further as a graded activity exercise. When I got home I had a little bit nerverpain in........................... my arms! WHY in my arms?????????? It doesn't make sense.

Movement seems to be good for mental problems, but it ramps up pain unfortunatelly.

Last night I slept 7-8  hours. I went to the supermarket on my new ebike and I went for a small walk.

During the walk it was dark and cold but I managed it!

Yesterday was very windy and rainy. I went to the pharmacy and the supermarket 6 km away. With this wind I would normally not manage to cycle 12 km. But now on my new ebike it was a lot easier! I practise walking every day. I walk 11 minutes now. But I don't walk very fast. Only around 3,5 km/h.

Last night I slept only 6 hours. I will take it easy today and spend lots of time reading. I'm reading in the great pain deception. There is so much information on every page! Now I know why it took Steven Ozanich 10 years to write this book. Doctor Sarno said to increase physical activity and not to avoid the things that hurt. (first rule out serious conditions). So my graded activity plan just fits in his ideas!

I went for a small walk again. It was so nice outside. I stepped onto a small bridge watching sailboats and horses and sheep.

Now my calves are stiff and my feet hurt a bit. That must be because of the lack of sleep.

Last night I slept a little better. Today I walked al little further over the bridge to the aqueduct. The view over the water was so beautiful! I walked 15 minutes this time.

I did the laundry.

For the rest of the day I was housebound because the painters want me to open windows and doors. I can't leave the house like that. This entire week I fear to be housebound. If a painted door has to dry I can't close it. So I have to stay at home. I hate it to lose my privacy! But the housing association wants it to be done. I know it was time to paint the house, it is better to have it done. But for the time being it bothers me to have like 4 painters around the house. :(

Glad you were enjoying your new bicycle last week.

I hope the situation with the painters gets resolved. I don't think they can expect you to leave your door open potentially all week.

Thank you for your reply SkyBlue!

Every day the painters work on a few windows or one door. They do an entire block of houses in baby steps. When a window or door is painted I have to leave it open for the rest of the day to let it dry. I don't dare to risk it to leave the house with the windows open or even a door. The workmen don't hurry up. They do lots of houses at the same time, that's why it takes so long..........

I increased my walking distance very slowly. My boyfriend measured the distance with the strava app on his phone. I can walk 1200 meter now! :D

I had a nice birthdayparty of my sister on saturday evening. Then I spent a few happy days with my boyfriend. Today the last piece of painting is done! So I have my privacy back now!

No more waiting at home with the doors or windows open for painters. I feel more relaxed now. The new paint is fresh and shiny!

Last night my sleep was ok. I did the laundry. Tonight I'll go for a small walk again.

My fingers still hurt when I type. I have a bluetooth keyboard now that is normally used with a tablet. Pressing the keys goes a little softer with this device. But it is still painful! I would like to get rid of my sore fingers.

Last night my sleep was ok.

Today I mowed the lawn and I walked 1300 meter. My nerves are restless and a bit painful in my arms and body now. I have to sit down now for the rest of the day.

Yesterday evening my symptoms flared up.  The lawn mowing and the walking added up of course. I felt nervepain in my arms, shoulders and my stomach felt hot and I felt irritated nerves in my stomach. I felt a little nauseous. I had a few aches and pains in my gut. The skin of my back and belly felt like burning. And my body felt irritated all over. So I sat down and read a book. After midnight it calmed down.

Last night my sleep was good, over 8 hours. I can feel the restless nerves in my arms aching again. I'll try to get normal trough this day. I wonder how it will develop if I start doing things and moving more........

This afternoon I did the laundry. I felt physically tired.

Tonight I walked 1300 meter again. It wasn't easy. My toes and feet were burning. After the walk the nervepain in my arms left. I had leg and feetpain instead. Later when tidying the house I had tired arms and a little back pain.

Now I sit down and read healing back pain of doctor Sarno. (It is also useful for all other kinds of pains and symptoms.)

Last night I slept 7 hours. I did some cleaning. And I walked 1300 meter again. After it I had the storm of nervepain back. It took over 2 hours to calm down. After I took my meds it settled down.

My fingers hurt when I type. They feel burning.

I wished I knew what to do to improve my sore fingers. Does anybody know someone who recovered from painful fingers and what  he/she did about it?

Last night I slept 7 hours. I did the laundry and some modest cleaning.

I watched soccer and some tv. I did't go for a walk. Did not want to get extreme nervepain. I allready spent my energy on cleaning.

My hands and arms hurt.

Last night I slept 10 hours. When I woke up I had everywhere a little nervepain. I don't feel well.

I decided to walk 1300 meter. I was nice to be outside in the fresh air. For the rest I can't do much because of the nervepain. I feel tired and I have a hot feeling in my stomach after drinking tea. I had sometimes difficulties to concentrate.

Sitting still seems to be the best for my symptoms. But it is also very boring. I would love to do so much more! I need to do more cleaning, I need to do more in the garden. I would love to be able to exercise again. They opened a new gym not too far from my house. When I would be normal I would become a member! In february this year I became a member of a gym. But after I tapered from 100 mg lyrica to 75 mg lyrica I wasn't even able to get there anymore.  I have been there only twice, I loved it!!!!! But I had to cancel my membership. That was so very disappointing! And I would love to apply for a job. I see so many vacancies now. Under normal circumstances I would allready have a new job. That would be better for my finances, And it would mentally be so much better of course.

The truth is that I feel trapped in my body. I'm mostly hurting and very limited. I hurt so much that I can hardly type, walk, cleane, do gardening. When my face ache flares up I can hardy speak or chew or laugh,  In this condition nobody would hire me for a job.

I want to improve my situation so badly. But I doubt what is best to do. I wish I would know what's best to do.

Last night I slept 8 hours. I did some cleaning.  My hair loss is still horrible. My acne calmes down a bit but it might flare up again just before my period. (Hairloss and acne come from quitting the birthcontrol pil.) My right hand and arm hurt a bit from the cleaning. I can't do too much on the computer because of my burning fingers. So frustrating!

After it I went to the supermarket. My ebike was packed!!!

Now my arms hurt a bit from carrying all those clothes.........

I don't feel good. Yesterday I had a lot of armpain after weeding. I was so disappointed that I couldn't do the weeding and I ended up with intense nervepain! I cried for half an hour and could do nothing anymore.Today I have many aches and pains everywhere and had to take it easy. Just sitting and reading.Boring, like I don't live fully. Now my fingers hurt from typing............ I hope for better times!!!
