gdsequoia
I've been having disabling inner-thigh muscle pains. I wanna share how I've dealt with them. 1. Magnesium glycinate/lysinate chelate (200mg in the morning and 200mg at noon) 2. Vitamin D3 (400 IU in the morning and 400IU at noon) [seems the vitD3 should coincide with the magnesium] 3. After any exercise that involves the thighs, I do this (frog pose exercise+stretch) for 1 minute. These are the things that keep me functioning. 2 I am not a doctor. Moderator hayduke Posted November 18, 2020 Moderator Share Posted November 18, 2020 (edited) Joint pain in fingers / olanzapine Sore joints in my fingers (mostly knuckles nearest the tips) have been a problem for a while. I need to type for work. It's the tapping/compression action that feels sore. A friend suggested it might be olanzapine. It's listed in the side effects for it, too. And my ankles used to be terrible on the risperidone, but have really improved over the taper. My GP tested for osteo (X-ray) and rheumatoid arthritis (blood) and says it's neither. Which is good, but... Not the best that the GP didn't pick it up, since she prescribes the olanzapine for me at present, but that also implies she won't be the most knowledgeable person to ask what to do about it. Anyone got any good tips on joint pain? Ibuprofen gets me part of the way, rest another part, but there's only so much of either can be done. I would hope it will pass later on, but having to sit at a computer for much of the week to keep the roof up and the lights on isn't ideal. Sure, if you're at a desk already. I'd usually just get on the workstation then. The O rings don't affect anything till the key is near the bottom of its travel. Saudades
Hey guys, just curious if anyone else seems to get reoccuring muscle and joint pain after stopping their meds entirely. I am 3 weeks off. I had a ton of terrible side effects in the beginning but now many have subsided or at the very least are still there but much more manageable. Immediately after stopping, I had really bad joint and muscle pain. Admittedly this is something I do suffer from randomly from time to time, even before tapering, but have had various tests and so far it's been unexplained (aside from being told its anxiety). In any case I know this was related to stopping because every time I missed a dose, I often felt the same way the following day. My legs, feet, knees, shoulders, arms - everything was sore. This pain went away after a couple of days, I was pain free for a few days and now it's back again today. Granted I did have a really stressful and emotional day (wallet was stolen while I was downtown for a gastro apt - so lots of calling around and getting cards cancelled/replaced). Was fine the entire time until I finally got home and went to bed and now I feel sore ALL over. Just wondering if these symptoms came and went for anyone else? Effexor: 2012, 75mg (started tapering down Sept 2020, reached 37.5 mg Jan 2020, 12.5 mg July 2020, 0mg end of Aug 2020) Levothyroxine: 2014 - present Hormonal birth control 2013 - present Pantoprazole - on and off for chronic gastritis since 2017

Here is an outline https://www.mamamia.com.au/what-is-remedial-massage/ I tried it after reading about rolfing, realising my body held trauma in tension and that this might be a way to release it. It was actually after one of these sessions when I was meditating that the first memories of being abused as a child came up, and I found myself a psychologist first thing next day. Jojomama
I botched a taper and decreased my Zoloft by 25% over 8 days. I reinstated back to my original 50 mg as I was living a hellish night mare. Too many people depend on me and I was debilitated. Long story short, I’m making progress slowly over the last two weeks since reinstating. However, I do notice about 6 hours prior to my next dose, I have myalgia and muscle aches. I also have insomnia and night mares. I figured the night mares and insomnia were Zoloft related but the myalgia? Is this common? How long will it last? Ugh 😣 1998- pediatric ocd dx 40 mg Prozac; 2006- trial of anafranil, failed back to Prozac; 2007- trial of paxil, few months, weight gain, cold turkey no issues, back to Prozac: 2008- panic disorder dx- .25-.5 mg Xanax prn, but developed dependence until 2017, cold turkeyd for pregnancy; 2009- Prozac; 2010-2012- Zoloft, fatigue, weight gain switch to Effexor; 2012-2013- Effexor with bad constipation issues 2013- Prozac, cold turkey, no issues until 4 months later, destabilized, then back to Effexor; 2013-2016- Effexor and Dexedrin; 2017- switch to lexapro, tried to cold turkey, ended up with bad panic attacks. Put on 50 mg pristiq. Quit benzos, quit Dexedrine ct Now 2021- pristiq 50 mg with 50 mg ketamine troches x3 weekly, attempted taper in June cut by 50% in 3 days, nausea, panic Late June, second attempt with compound ex to 45.5 mg, did for two weeks, depression/crying/fatigue, reinstated last week of June to 50 mg. Early July- now suffering nausea, headache, food sensitivity, depression, dizzy feelings, panic. Gave up on taper thendec 2021- switched 50 mg Pristiq cross taper to 50 mg Zoloft april 2022- on 4/3/22 decreased Zoloft from 50 to 37.5 mg over the course of 8 days 4/11/22- having chills, nausea, body aches, and panic attack. Re-instated to 45 mg. Praying to stabilize and taper responsibly later. 4/12/22-reinstated completely back to 50 mg 5/4- residual muscle aches and night mares with panic at night continuing. Hope this gets better

Moderator Erimus Posted October 19, 2022 Moderator Share Posted October 19, 2022 I’m going through the most intense period of physical issues I’ve endured in withdrawal for some reason. I crashed really hard recently and my cycles of withdrawal tend to start with physical issues, but never to this extent and duration. My legs feel like they’re locking up, I’ve got a twisted knee, my lower back goes through fluctuating levels of extreme tension/pain throughout each day, my right wrist is injured, and I have intense muscle contraction. I am questioning my own sanity a lot but reading through this thread provides me some comfort in knowing it has happened to many others. The strange thing is I’m the most mentally stable I’ve been in about 18 months. I tell myself it’s the final frontier of healing to trick my mind into keeping going. Next month I’m going to experiment with adding some fish oils in the hope it eases inflammation and pain. Bone broth is another option to try. It’s likely it will resolve itself as withdrawal waxes and wanes but at least I have some tricks up my sleeve. Moderator hayduke Posted July 1, 2023 Moderator Share Posted July 1, 2023 Recently suffered a couple of depot shots of paliperidone. Joints and RSI in fingers have flared up. Risperidone gave me massive joint issues before, and I warned the prescribing idiot. I have the horrible feeling this stuff will turn the cartilage in my joints to mush again. No joke especially now I'm relying on physical labour for work. Ugh. I am not a health professional - your actions are your own. LostPhil
It was great to find this thread. I’m 16 months off mirtazipine after 30mg for 4 months. Im hugely better but still get these “attacks” of muscle soreness/aches all over every now and then. Very annoying but I think it is still part of the recovery as I seem to get to a slightly better place after each attack. Some great tips here to help it though. Mirtazapine Recommended by doctor due to severe ear pain Sep 2021 30mg until Feb 2022. Severe bad reaction of pacing and emotional deadness. Tapered down 7.5mg from 30mg every 2 weeks until last 7.5mg tapered 2.5mg every 2 weeks. Completely off from April 2022. Feeling hugely better but still have weird feeling, muscle aches and tiredness.
Mentor Catina7 Posted November 25, 2023 Mentor Share Posted November 25, 2023 I was just reading about the many health benefits of Castor Oil, and evidently it's supposed to work really well on sore muscles and joints due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
