Can I tapper trazadone to 50 mg by 10% a month, and then tapper fluoxetine? Benzo- clonozepam I am at 0,0006 mg- after I will stablise a little maybe it time to jump? after that tapper trazadone to 50 mg (10% monthly) and fluoxetine to 0 at the end trazadone 50 mg to zero This is an excellent plan, LadyB. Once you stabilize, you can go ahead and get off that tiny bit of clonazepam. And then make a 10% reduction in the Trazadone, but only do this once you're stable. Link to comment

Now Antidepressant-Induced Chronic Depression Has a Name: Tardive Dysphoria The best you can do is stabilize on what you're taking and then make very slow and careful reductions (10% or less) going forward. This gives your mind/body time to adjust to the changes and to heal. Link to comment

Administrator Altostrata Posted September 4, 2019 Administrator Share Posted September 4, 2019 Trazodone immediate-release has a half-life of about 7 hours. The extended-release form has a half-life of 10 hours. That is not a big difference. If you cut an extended-release tablet, a piece probably will act like immediate-release trazodone. Lots of people take immediate-release trazodone. You may or may not feel the difference. This is not medical advice. anna7887
Hi there. I’m a fellow Lyme sufferer and antidepressant user! I’ve successfully gotten off trazadone and benzos years ago. Trazadone I practically went cold turkey which didn’t hit me for 6 weeks and got very ill..: benzos I followed the 10% rule but was still a challenge. Now I’m tackling Zoloft after using it for 10 years. I’ve had Lyme for 4 & used to do the whole antibiotic thing. Die off form the antibiotics was so intense I thought I was having a nervous breakdown. Maybe you need to give the antibiotics a break while you taper and focus more on supporting the immune system? Ilmds love to go hard and I don’t think this approach works for everyone. You WILL get through this. Sending you love! -given Prozac at 12 due to panic attacks for 6months -Med free until 2008 when I was 20 years old -2008-2009- Pristiq, followed by quick taper. -1/10-Rxed 50mg Zoloft & .5mg Klonopin daily after a death in the family - 2/2012 Successfully micro tapered off .5mg of Klonopin after taking daily for 2 years. Started 100mg of Trazadone for sleep . - Oct 2013- Quickly tapered off trazadone. Bad idea! But finally trazadone free. - July 2015- present Became very ill with lyme like sxs -August 2018-present. Started micro taper off 50mg of Zoloft via liquid titration ... - July 2021- down to 3mg.. had digestive issues so got an endoscopy and major flair! -March 2022- tried cross tapers to Prozac and lexapro did not work. Jumped off everything. -Present: Med free and pregnant! Aside from some health issues I’m doing better than expected!! Link to comment

anna7887
I feel for you! I’m 32 and I’ve been battling Lyme and drug withdrawal for so long & somehow managed to hold down a full time job in executive leadership. My biggest piece of advice with Lyme and taper is go slow. In my opinion, and I’m no doctor, Strengthening your immune system is more important than “killing” lyme. For the first few years of Lyme treatment I came from a place of fear and my llmd didn’t help ... took the strongest herbs, abx, etc... I was literally non functioning and on bed rest. I was in fight or flight 24/7... I knew it wasn’t healthy. I’ve since stopped aggressive herbals focused on diet (unprocessed Foods), rest, yoga , meditation , etc and have been improving by leaps and bounds. Feel free to PM if you need more support. LadyBartonella
OK, here we are. One week off benzo I feel awful, but maybe its psychological dependency, because dose was really tiny. From 2 days I wake up with small intrusive thoughts (mostly about traumatic WD after stoping paroxetine and benzo- like something is telling me, look ouf you will get hit, its short time to reinstall, so maybe you should do it) I feel stunned, foggy , depressed, anxious, tired. I would like someone lead me through this hard time. Now I will just do nothing and wait to stabilise. Once you stabilize, you can go ahead and get off that tiny bit of clonazepam. And then make a 10% reduction in the Trazadone, but only do this once you're stable. LadyBartonella
Dr found out I have very low dao and he suspect MCAS ( he thinks Lyme triggered this) I felt incredible relief after a dose of famotidine (pepcid). I do not know what to do, they want me to take medications for h1 and h2, additionally they are considering stabilizer of mast cells, and after medical trauma I am terribly afraid of new drugs Pepcid have helped, with sleeping, brain fog, depression (improved 60%). But I took only 20 mg once a day, when they told me to take twice a day and increase 40 mg x 2. It is my day 4th on 20 mg and although I had significant relief in some symptoms, also I started to get some burning brain feeling 1-2 a day with anxiety. Dr say that this is bcs I should increase H2, but I prefer to consult with SA people before I will introduce new drug to my system, I will be grateful for an advice. 2012 March- low anxiety, I started sertraline and I got adverse reaction. -.I got depression, ss thoughts and other bad symptoms 2012 May I was put on Clonozepam & paroxetine- it helped. Moderator Emeritus Shep Posted February 19, 2020 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted February 19, 2020 If possible, you may want to work with your diet as opposed to adding in another drug such as Pepcid. We're not a site for MCAS, so you may want to research to see if there are some forums dedicated to this and inquire about alternatives to using drugs. Here are a list of side effects for Pepcid and you may want to research it within the forum using the search box. Rxlist.com - Pepcid side effects You'll need to taper off it if you use it long term and then decide to come off. Tapering it will prevent rebound symptoms that are common when coming off these types of stomach drugs. Link to comment
