Is there anyone familiar with the New Jersey social services system who can help Zant808? Or a lawyer?

He needs to find an advocate, maybe a social worker who can help him get relief from his duties as a caregiver to a stepfather with dementia.

Please send Zant a pm or post in his Intro topic.

I would be interested in meeting others in NJ.

Psych drug history goes back, on and off, to 1999.

Started in 2012/2013:     900 mg  Lithium         3 mg Risperidone               250 mg Lamotrigine

2015-2018:                      900 mg  Lithium         1 mg Risperidone                250 mg Lamotrigine

Attempted to taper off again in 2018 and found much better info. about how:

I live in NJ! Right near Princeton.

On that note, does anyone have any recommended doctors/psychiatrists/therapists who are versed in these subjects of withdrawals? I can't find any in NJ on the lists provided on this site.

2007 - Started Klonopin on and off, never consistently.
2014 - Began Remeron 60mg, Depakote 750mg, Baclofen 30mg. 2015 - Began Zoloft 25mg.
August 2018 - Begin using klonopin at scattered doses - between .25-.5mg, every other day on average. This was after quitting for a couple months.

Early 2019 - Off of Remeron entirely after 2 year wean. Began Xyzal 2.5mg. Began clonazepam .5mg daily and for once, consistently.
Spring 2019 - Tapered off both Depakote and Baclofen. Raised Klonopin to 1mg/day.
May 2019 - Lowered Zoloft to 12.5mg
July 2019 - Finished tapering klonopin to .75mg/day
October 2019 - Began Tapering off Zoloft. Jan 1 2020 - Off of Zoloft entirely.

Currently: .75mg Clonazepam, 90mg NP Thyroid
Symptoms: Moderate Anxiety and Depression, Derealization, Fatigue, Hypothyroidism
Etc: Magnesium Glycinate, Paleo diet (8+ years), walking, yoga, biking, breathwork, bioenergetics, meditation, network chiropractic

Unfortunately there are not many medical professionals in the world that recognise withdrawal symptoms and even less who actually know how to taper carefully.  That is precisely the reason why this site exists.

I live in Nj, was wondering if any of you were still interested in connecting?

2008: start Lexapro 10 mg which is quickly upped to 20 mg. 2008:2013 try at least four individual times to get off Lexapro, never get lower than 5mg, settle at 15 mg. 2015: again, attempt to get off Lexapro and get to 5 mg. After 6 months, feel i'm stabilizing but go back on a higher dose because of one stressful event. 2016: go to 20 mg from 15 mg due to work stresses, hit severe tolerance for the first time and become very suicidal. 2016-2017: try viibryd and cymbata in an attempt to feel better. Also add Lamictal 150 at some point. 2017: eventually land on paxil 37.5 and Lamictal 150. January 2018: cut paxil to 25. April-July 2018: reduce Lamictal in 50 mg increments till im off August. 2018: reduce paxil to 20 mg. december 2018: dropped Paxil to 18 mg, SEVERE CRASH. March updosed to 20 mg April 11: dropped to 19.4 mg due to akathsia (still experiencing akathsia symptoms from updose) April 20: 19 mg Paxil May 4: 18.7 Paxil July 5: 18.2 July 12: 17.8 Aug 19: 17.5 Aug 26: 17.3 Oct 20: 17.1 Nov 3: 16.9, 8/17/20: 16.6 after nine month hold, 8/24/20: 16.4, 8/31/20:16.2, 9/14/2020: 16.0, 9/21/20: 15.8, 9/28/20: 15.6, 10/19/20:15.4, 10/26/20: 15.2, 11/2/20: 15.1, 11/7/20: 14.8, 3/6/2-: 14.5, 3/20/20: 14.3, 4/3/20: 13.9, 4/10/2021: 13.7

Are we on for next Saturday, April 20, in Princeton? Any suggestions for a place to meet?

Psych drug history goes back, on and off, to 1999.

Started in 2012/2013:     900 mg  Lithium         3 mg Risperidone               250 mg Lamotrigine

Attempted to taper off in 2014 w/ doctor's guidance and was unsuccessful, except that I was able to reduce risperidone to 1 mg.

2015-2018:                      900 mg  Lithium         1 mg Risperidone                250 mg Lamotrigine

Attempted to taper off again in 2018 and found much better info. about how:

Jan. 2018:                        0 mg  Lithium (CT)     1 mg Risperidone               250 mg Lamotrigine

Jan. 2019:                        0 mg Lithium               0.625 mg Risperidone       175 mg Lamotrigine

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I will be at my grandma's in Long Island for an Easter dinner :/ I'm sorry, I completely forgot about that.

Meanwhile... would you like to introduce yourselves with whatever information you're comfortable?

My name is Jason, I'm turning 30 in less than a month 😖 I'm successfully off of Baclofen and almost off of Depakote. I'll take a homeostasis hiatus until after birthday plans, then drop Zoloft and finally Klonopin!

Congrats on the big 3-0, Chziime!

I’m turning 33 in the next month 😃

I joined this site last year after

I found out I had kidney damage from Lithium and had to stop taking it CT.  I am almost off Synthroid, my thyroid drug.  I am tapering Risperidone right now, and I am doing <10% a month using a microtaper because my nervous system is very sensitive to it and I have been on it 5 years.  Then I will taper Lamotrigine, and then drop the birth control pill.  I think this will take several years.  I’m just accepting that, and I’m grateful it’s going pretty well so far 👍

I am grateful for mom, my boyfriend, my friends, and even my doctor 👩‍⚕️ who are supporting me and of course this website 🙏

Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend!  🌈

Any fellow NJ members interested in chatting and possibly meeting up? I have friends and a support system, but I feel like face-to-face contact with someone also going through this might really be helpful.

Hey.  I'd be interested in meeting up.  It would be refreshing to talk to ppl who know what it's like to see a psychiatrist and just smile and nod.  Just to have a conversation about these experiences with someone whom I'm not simultaneously educating.  I am stable with WD and have the support of family and friends, but I do sometimes sense their incomprehension.

Wishing healing, love and light to the NJ folks
