Administrator Altostrata Posted July 12, 2018 Administrator Share Posted July 12, 2018 You could take 0.5mg Celexa, too. Any doctor can prescribe Prozac or Celexa, it doesn't have to be a psychiatrist. If you got Prozac, you can easily make your own liquid and take 1mg with an oral syringe (most drugstores have them). Emergency rooms or urgent care most likely will give you a benzodiazepine. This is not a long-range solution as they're truly addictive. Plus, if you take too much, you can get paradoxical reactions. Welcome to withdrawal syndrome. You'll have a lot of ups and downs. There is no simple solution. This is not medical advice. I am considering Remeron to get some sleep, which I can then taper off as well? I'm literally going to have a stroke and lose my job. 2000: Between 10 - 20 mg for over 17 years. Administrator Altostrata Posted July 12, 2018 Administrator Share Posted July 12, 2018 Please do not add more than one drug at a time, you won't know where adverse reactions, if any, are coming from. If I were you, I'd start with 0.5mg Celexa, keep daily notes on paper about your symptoms, when you take your drugs, and their dosages. It could be that a little Celexa is enough. Wwaterboy
I know I'm bad with that. I'm going to have to add a little propranolol for blood pressure a little clonidine here and there. Administrator Altostrata Posted July 12, 2018 Administrator Share Posted July 12, 2018 Me, too, because you probably would be taking 20mg Celexa and a hunk of Remeron tonight, and reacting very badly to them. Did you take the Celexa yet? This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. Wwaterboy
No I'm headed to the pharmacy now. I don't know, the Remeron just might work. And I wouldn't take a hunk. With the way my pressure is right now, afib and kidney failure are inevitable. Thanks Paxil. 2000: Between 10 - 20 mg for over 17 years. March 2018: Paxil free. Administrator Altostrata Posted July 12, 2018 Administrator Share Posted July 12, 2018 Please do not start 2 drugs at the same time. One or the other. If you want to start with Remeron, I'd try only 1mg to start. I have more confidence in the Celexa, though. More like hair of the dog, the dog being an SSRI. This is not medical advice. Wwaterboy
Mirtazapine did help my former brother in law after he CT'ed Lexapro. I saw him sleeping like a log. And I do think I recall a psychiatrist that I worked with at the VA say that's what he would do and he was aware Paxil withdrawal is a lengthy process (he said 6-9 months) ha. 2000: Between 10 - 20 mg for over 17 years.
