Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted August 3, 2018 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted August 3, 2018 Hi and welcome to SA, I am really pleased that you found SA so soon after stopping your drug. What you are experiencing is a withdrawal symptom from stopping the drug too quickly. Dr Joseph Glenmullen's WD Symptoms Checklist SA recommends tapering by no more than 10% of the previous dose with a hold of about 4 weeks to allow the brain to adapt to not getting as much of the drug. Why taper by 10% of my dosage? Reinstating is the only known way to reduce the withdrawal symptoms. Administrator Altostrata Posted August 10, 2018 Administrator Share Posted August 10, 2018 Welcome, LanaGayle. You might have tapered a bit too fast, reinstating a very small amount, even 0.5mg Prozac, might be enough to stop the withdrawal symptoms. You'd taper off by tiny amounts later. As Chessie suggested, Tips for tapering off Prozac (fluoxetine explains how to make a liquid to take a small dose. This is not medical advice.
