Tapering question for a relative

i'm asking this for a family member  - if you've taken an ssri for some months but it has had zero effect on mood (just made them a bit nauseous in the beginning and when upping dosage) do they still have to taper at 10%. i said yes but they're not convinced as they said the drug has had no effect on their mood whatsoever. i can confirm that taking the drug has made zero difference to their mood but i'm scared that it may have made changes to their brain chemistry over the months they've been taking it ☹️

Hello, thecowisback,

Antidepressants alter the architecture of the brain, and the 10% rule (or slower) still applies regardless of lack of change in mood.  The link below on brain remodeling explains what is happening when tapering an AD and why it is important to go slowly.
