Helping my 14 y/o brother taper off zoloft

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My 14 year old brother has been taking zoloft for about a year now. He is currently taking 150 mg for anxiety and OCD. The problem is that he told me the medication is not working, and his anxiety has actually increased. This is very disturbing to me, because it mirrors my own experience with zoloft. To make matters worse, my mother doesn’t want to let him get off of it. She thinks he either needs a higher dosage, or another AD. How do I talk to her about the problems this drug can cause to him?

Hi, Elqueso. I moved your thread from the Intro section here to the Relationship section, as this is where members go to discuss how to talk to family.

You may want to get this book to give to your mother and your brother:
