Silva: It's possible to split a dose and take it multiple times a day?

The question is pretty simple. I realized that if a split a dose in two and take two times a day instead of one it reduces some strong side effects I feel, and I want to ask if that's going to affect the medicine effectiveness, since they are slow released in your body. (I'm currently taking trintellix 10mg, 2x5mg).

Bom dia Silva,

Are you wanting to come off Trintellix? This site is geared toward supporting people who are coming off their medications.

If you wish to continue taking your medication, your doctor would be the one to ask about splitting the dose.

2020: After 18+ years (entire adult life) on Paxil, a dangerous doctor-led "taper" in 2015, and four years tapering off the last 1 mg thanks to SA and the Brassmonkey slide,

I AM COMPLETELY FREE OF PAXIL! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Forever.

2021: Began conservative, proper, CNS-respecting taper of Zoloft, led by the only expert on me -- me. Making own liquid. 5-10% plus holds.

2022: Holding on Zoloft for now. Current dose 47 mg. Hanging in, hanging on. Severe protracted PAWS, windows and waves. While I may not be doing "a lot" by outside standards, things are graaaaadually getting better

Yoga (gentle to medium); walks; daily breath practice; nutrition, fruits/veg; nature; water; EastEnders (lol); practicing self-compassion, self-care; boundaries; connection; allowing feelings; t r u s t ing that I, too, will heal. (--> may need to be reminded of this.)

Hi,

just thought to share my own experience. I did the split in an extreme way by sipping the lex liquid like 30 times in a day to avoid the extreme drug effects ( passing out feeling). Now I'm off and found my system is super sensitized, not sure if it has anything to do with the dosing method. If you are considering splitting into 2 doses I would hope it won't be as bad if there is any negative effects.

i don't know anything about the drug you are taking though. You may want to check it out, such as half life, etc.

good luck!
