Did I read you’re a boxing fan?  Regular boxing or MMA?

Med History - 2014 - 2020 - Zoloft, Effexor, Klonopin, Lexapro, Buspar (No longer on any of these)

Went to my doctor for an annual and mentioned I was stressed, gave me Zoloft, stopped it after 3 months because it didn't do anything, ended up in withdrawal and was told I had a mental illness.  I've been diagnosed Bipolar and Clinically Depressed.

Current Med Taper

Lamotrigine - 25mg (May 21') -> 24mg (May 23') -> 23mg (July 23') -> 22mg (Aug 23') -> 21mg (Oct 23') -> 20mg (Dec 23')

Supplement: Magnesium, Fish Oil

I have sat reading this site about stomach issues and gut issues. Dont take this PPI or that acid blocking drug. The pain got that bad i went to see a Dr. We arranged a camera test of my stomach before any medication. They found i had a stomach ulcer and a hernia. My throat is so inflammed and acid was present all the way up my throat.

I had 2 options, sit in agony, trying apple cider vinegar and propping my pillow up, avoiding fizzy drinks and probably end up even more unwell.

Or take a PPI for 4- 8 weeks to stop acid production and let everything heal up. Then look at lifestyle choices and propping my pillow up.

I have taken them for 1 week and i feel bloody great!!!

Thanks for bringing coffee to my attention. I drink it too and i will try to cut it out.

We will get better, we have to. Here’s to lots of healing during 3-4 for you, I’m only 6 months behind. This week I was thinking about a reinstatement after reading this again, I’ll hang on in there a bit longer. Our symptoms are identical it uncanny.

Plus When in a wave I have quite severe inner Akathesia and SI, which manifests as an inner agitation/ fear. People ask what I’m frightened of. I’m terrified life and living. I have a family so I have no choice but to put grit my teeth and hold onto that ‘seat belt’.

It’s so tough,  Escitalopram seems to be one of the toughest, my dose and CT really go against me. 40mg is double the registered dose!

Hang on in there Leo, 3 years down and you’re entering into a new era!😊

Im currently in what i think is a wave. Im actually quite sick of hearing this word.

The level of anxiety, confusion, pressure, neuro emotions, thoughts of the future, off balance just that awful awful depression dark lethargic feeling.

I just cant get over this is still happening.

I have the world at my feet. I just want to get on with life.

Smashed against the rocks again. The more it happens the less people believe this withdrawal stuff.

Leo, I’m so so sorry this is happening again and again. Our symptoms are so similar, my last dose of escitalopram was Dec 2018. If it weren’t for this website with thousands suffering very similar symptoms I wouldn’t believe it myself. Hang on in there Leo we can do this, we shouldn’t have to do it without professional support but that’s where we’re at at the the moment, so it’s head down and one step in front of the other. Let’s hope in our lifetime we see big changes in  psychiatry. For me that  would be my consolation prize for this long, long journey of endurance. Take care remember you’re not alone in this.

I want to tell you both that this stuff does get better.  I got better after 4 years. I CT’d Lexapro as well, so just know that healing happens.  Now you must be aware that after you feel better a lot of stuff can send you right back to acute.  I had to take an antibiotic and some pain med and I’m back in acute.  I was starting to get better from that and I was careless with stimulating activities and I’m right back in acute again.  My point is treat your CNS like crystal for awhile. Don’t think when you start feeling better you can charge your CNS the way you did before. It will give you a setback.

Healing to you both.

Leo,

Dealing with a setback myself with a longer and far more intense wave. I definitely at the moment can’t see this ending soon and been waiting 2.5 years. Am significantly better but this just reinforces there is still so much more that needs to get fixed.

Not much we can do other that to keep going on as best we can. No alternative for us. It’s definitely not a life I’d wish on anybody.

I made a rule for myself--no fortune-telling.

Thinking how long...will I always feel like this...if this doesn't end in 6 months,...etc.

For me this was a great rule since fortune-telling only brings a person down.

Instead I tried to focus on where I was 3-6 months ago compared to now which was always uplifting.

One day at a time and if you have to look somewhere, look back in time and see how far you have come.😊

This is the best of my recollection.

20 mg Prozac 3-4 days per week from 1994 until May 2018.

Beginning May 15 I began to drop doses.

I dropped 1 dose per week for the next 4 weeks.

It was not systematic at all. I don't have which days I took what.

so the week of May 13 I took 4 doses, which was pretty normal for me.

Then the week of May 20 I took 3 doses 20 mg.

The week of May 27 I took 3 doses 20 mg.

The 1st week in June l took 2 doses 20 mg.

The week of June 10, 2018 was my last dose 20 mg.

I had been on Prozac only for over 20 years.  No other medications.

Leo, I’ve just come out of a stress induced wave at 31 months. When in it I was convinced this would go on forever and nothing had changed in 31 months. Looking back now that I am out of the wave I can see that I am a lot better than I was in the early days. I don’t spend nearly as much time in bed or on the sofa. Hang on in there Leo, be kind to yourself, and when it passes and it will pass, try to make a note of the progress you’ve made over the years, there’s no point doing it now the brain can’t see progress in a wave. For now be kind to yourself and distract yourself until this nasty wave passes.  Little by little we’ll get there.🧡

Sorry you're feeling wavy lately, Leo. You have come a long way. After the 2 year point alot of it is just being SICK of all of it. That made it a bit harder for me after that 2nd year. Patiently endure and it WILL be so better one day.

I am just past 3 years and my waves are more like "funks". At worst I will get somewhat  anxious, confused and moody, with concentration, memory, negative thought problems for a couple of weeks. I do stupid stuff at work.  Don't like it but it is so much better than at 1 year...

Leo it took a long time to get where we are so of course it is a process to break free. You are brave and strong to continue. I feel your frustration though and yes it is a LONG journey. But SO worthwhile.

so the week of May 13 I took 4 doses, which was pretty normal for me.

I get so confused with peopkes responses.

Before meds i was anxious at work. In general day to day life i was possibly over confident.

NOW IM A MOUSE. ( Not a real one )

I feel sometimes that people are saying you need to get there???? Get were? Like talk to god, eat vegan, stay alcohol free, challenge yourself, omega 3's...... im not been funny all im explaining is i did none of this before my head was turned into a turnip.

All im hoping is the brain and body sorts itself out because if my head was clear, memory back, confusion gone and that depression i never had along with that crippling shite my heads now tells me, i would be away enjoying life.

I hope you are well 😉

Hi,

Just been reading another persons post about Pantoprazole and stating that they think it caused a wave that lasted 6 weeks after stopping the drug.

I had an endoscopy 5 months ago and the found a small haitus hernia and ulcer.

I took the medication for 3 month. Stopped it myself and after a while used it again for a week or so.

I must admit i did notice increased anxiety and tinnitus but just thought i need to take it.

My question is....  I am in a big wave and recently stopped the Pantoprazole. If it is the Pantoprazole what am i supposed to do with a diagnosed mechanical issue? I.e the hernia?

One thing i dont want is Barratts Osoph.

Its all anxiety anxiety this withdrawal. You dont know whats what.

Thanks

I am not a doctor but my opinion you can look into homeopathy. There are some exercises and stretches for hernia. I started looking into diets like keto, carnivore, etc.. especially carnivore because i was having some digestive issues and lots of inflammation. Alot of people have reversed some medical conditions with just switching their diet to carnivore. Look up dr kenDberry& dr berg on youtube.

Sorry, nothing special to add. Just raise my hand too on this. I thought I was like a special unlucky case.

I’m willing to bet the Pantoprazole is causing you this setback.  It’s a PPI.  When our CNS are sensitive from WD it doesn’t take much to upset it.  Go easy on yourself.  Your CNS will settle down again.  It will take longer if you stress out about it.  I had really bad stomach acid problems and I totally fixed it with a healthy diet.
