I think looking back it was a bad Idea for me to taper from 37.mg due to the fact that my life has been quite unsettled. I think tapering requires a person to have a certain amount of stability otherwise it makes things 10 times harder. My reductions also might have been too much 1/8 of a 37.mg ,although I did hold for many months. I was also drinking alcohol last year which didn't help.

75mg 2013- July 2015
37.5mg July 2015-march 2016
37.5mg Venlaflaxine immediate release, march 2016-July 2016
32.8mg July 2016-February 2017
28.mg February 2017-July 2017
18.75mg July2017-September2017
28mg September 2017-November 2017
23.4mg November 2017-January 2018 
18.75mg January 2018- present

to Clarify I reduced by 1/8 of a 37.5mg tablet  each time .

SA's recommended tapering protocol is to reduce by no more than 10% of the current dose followed by a hold of about 4 weeks to allow the brain to adapt to not getting as much of the drug.  The easiest way to calculate it is to multiply the current dose by 0.9.
