Hey Rus.

Well, my G.I. symptoms are finally calming down. They're there, though are a nuisance now. :)  Did some diet changes and stuff.

Though, it seems they're morphing to anxiety-like symptoms of feeling agitated on my chest, the tension on my neck and arms. Plus, I'm sadly I'm having interrupted sleep cycle. Though, I'll take them over the hellish G.I. symptoms I was having the last several months.  What about you?

Changing how I took my probiotics (pills and foods) is where I began to notice the changes.

Mornings I drink my Tumeric Shake, Ginger Water, and eat Greek Yogurt with a normal breakfast.

During the afternoon I eat a full meal (salads, main course) and at that time take my Probiotic pill.

A few hours later, eat fruit with Fiber (Pears or Apples)

I don't eat dinner. Though, drink my chamomile tea.

I'm not out of it yet, since I still have my sour stomach episodes or weird sensations, though they've gone from a 9 to 3 or 4.  Also, my movements are getting 'normal' though they're not there yet.

I find the regular yogurt doesn't help with the g.i. symptoms. Seems that something in the Greek yogurt is what calm the g.i. track. Weird.

Update

Having a slight G.I. flare up. Though, noticed something new. It seems that I need to eat at certain times of the day Not eat past 8am for breakfast,  Not eat Lunch past 1:30pm because if not, it goes haywire on me with tension, cramps, sounds, constants farts.

I had a tremors episode before this occurring.

Sadly lost my six to seven hours of sleep. Back to 4 or five hours.

Still, have slight off balance sensation thought its 90-95% gone. :)

So, sadly I'm not out of this yet.

Update

Mostly the same with G.I. cramps when eating and switching of bowel movements. Though, I have to admit they're not as bad as it was in early this year. If I had to give an intensity number from 0 of being non-existent and 10 being constant symptoms.  I'd say I'm at 3.5 to 4. Which is a great improvement of how I was in December. Though. to be frank I want the symptoms gone. Though, as some has said, its just part of the healing process.

At the moment, I don't have off-balance sensations.

The sadness and aggression are low at the moment.

To be frank, the last few days I've been having nice almost day-long windows.

In a month will be the year I CT my A/D. Let's see if there are more improvements.

Update

Eleven months in...

Last Thursday I had a bad freak out. My G.I. went nuts, cramps and constantly going to the restroom. Switching to diarrhea to constipation after eating some spicy food. Went constantly to the restroom and caused a tear down there, and had blood on my stool. I freak out thinking that I have bowel cancer and went to the ER. They, couldn't find the tear...though I felt the burning and gash like sensation.

Went to the Dr. on Friday, they referred me to G.I. specialist just to check me out and give some peace of mind. The ER did blood work to see if something was wrong and that came out clear.  My Dr. saw the results and told him the symptoms I have. He suspects its just an anal tear, and just my 'anxiety' flaring up. However, referred me to get some peace of mind and move on.

Though, I'm scared that the off balance sensation that still have once in a blue moon, and weird feeling when I'm eating is something with my G.I. than just a W/D symptoms.

Though, I'm had some tremors, weird pressures on the back of my head, and jolted awake at night, or barely able to sleep for three to four hours.

At the moment, I've reintroduced drinking my teas in the morning, and eating my probiotics at night, and its somewhat helped, and is keeping my G.I at bay.

One last thing...these withdrawals had me gained 30lbs. So, yay me!

Hi Manny,

I know how unnerving it is to find blood in your stool. I lived in Tunisia for around 6 months back in 2013 and I slowly got introduced to very spicy food. Once I became accustomed to it, I started to crave spicy food even after I’d returned to the UK.

One day I went to the toilet and noticed there was bright red blood everywhere. I had very little anxiety or stomach symptoms at the time, and so I spoke to my parents and they told me it was probably just a minor rip or disruption from the hot food, and that it was normal. Relieved, I vowed to lay off the spicy food and this only ever happened once again in 6 years.

Unless you are noticing dark, tarry blood in your stools I would try not to overthink it. Bright red blood is alarming, but it shows the source of the blood is close to the point of exit, which is usually more benign. When you have dark, tarry blood in the stool, it’s more concerning as it points to bleeding somewhere inside the digestive system and that can be dangerous.

Avoid spicy or harsh foods for a few days and wipe gently (baby wipes are great for this). If the symptoms continue, then further investigation is warranted. It is a hard balance between preserving our health and managing health anxiety, but unless there is an obvious emergency (you are critically ill or severely bleeding) or the symptoms go on for several days unabated, it’s best to try and chalk these things up to normal benign ‘wear and tear’.

Thankfully it was bright red and did feel a burning gash like sensation down there when it occurred.

A few days back I did feel itching occuring down there and my mom said when that happens it means it's already starting to heal.

At the moment, I'm only have the typical ibs symptoms...gas cramps, constipation, and abdominal cramps before I have a movement or pass gas.

The only symptom that freaks me out is the sensation that I feel when I'm eating and I know it's a W/D symptom since I never had it before in my life until I entered W/D.

Update

Besides the G.I. symptoms...I hope after I see the G.I. specialist I put that anxiety to bed...crossing my fingers.

I wanted to mentioned when these G.I. symptoms do calm down...I enter into a horrible depressive state were I'm constantly crying or feel the world crashing down on me to the extent I begin to have suicidal thoughts though never go past that.

Then, suddenly feel rage come towards me just like how I felt when the medication pooped on me and I want to punch someone or throw someone in the middle of traffic. - This scares the crap out of me.

Still easily bruise. GWRR!  Good thing, I had blood work done last week and everything is fine.

However, right now at this hour or minute...I have my micro window.

Though, the off balance and headaches that were constant last year...there 98% gone. :)

At the moment, I'm thinking I'm going through a depressive episode, then I check the W/D list, and I see all of my symptoms there.

I just need to roll through the punches.

Well....yay??

Could you please explain a little more about

June 27 2018: Reinstated (5mg)

July 14 2018 last dose due to acute withdrawal symptoms.

That was 5mg vortioxetine, correct? But you quit that because of withdrawal symptoms? Please clarify.

I've written previously on my thread what happened to me though just to give you the cliff notes....

I stopped for seven days to take an antiviral for an shingles outbreak I had due to excessive stress. I contribute this to the medication having stopped working and w/d like symptoms began to crop up including becoming antisocial and sudden fits of rage.

Though, I finished my round, I reinstated my a/d full dose on June 26/27 until the symptoms were bad that I finally stopped on July 14.

Didn't find out about this website until late August of 2018.

Yes it was 5mgs.

So the symptoms got worse after you reinstated 5mg?

We have seen antibiotics seem to trigger or aggravate withdrawal symptoms.

Oh yes. I was constantly off balanced and a utter mess crying every moment of the day from July to late August. Then, after that I began with head stabbing headaches, blurred vision, and at time g.i. symptoms slowly began to crop up, though back then it was bloating, nausea, and constant heart burn.

Yea, its being crazy. Last week - Sunday through Tuesday I had three day nice long window. I thought, gosh I might be actually getting out of it. Though, Wednesday to today its being hellish. From electrical cramps to constipation to diarrhea,  As you've read I've freaked myself out thinking I have bowel cancer. I"m going to G.I. specialist just to get over with, and do the damn colonoscopy or whatever they need to do, so at least when I have these crazy episodes I'm not thinking the worst. However, the thing is once G.I. episodes calm down for a few hours, the emotional stuff kicks in, and those frighten me since I've had some horrible thoughts of hurting my mom or jumping off a bridge. .

then, suddenly for two hours...it all stops. Physical and emotional...gone. Like its fine and dandy.

To be frank, I should be freaking about the easy bruising, though I got blood work done last week and everything was fine.

Its being hellish.

Good thing, I'm not sensitive to water when I drink it and the heartburn symptoms have gone away. So there's being changes for the better, though they've been morphing.,

Geez man. I'm still having major problems with my gut also. They did an ultrasound on my liver and they said they suggested cirrhosis which means they're not sure. I talk to my GP about the report and she says it just may be fatty liver. Having a CT scan in 2 weeks. Bloodworks coming up good for liver so hopefully this is not something too bad

I'm glad you're getting your colonoscopy that'll ease your mind and take away some of the anxiety.

I go through the same thing also when my GI upset that's the main focus and when it dies down the emotional stuff comes in. Not because I'm focusing on it it just feels like it's a chemical situation.

I had my ultrasounds done last December and everything was top notch even the nurse complemented how healthy my organs looked. Just wanted to slap the nurse.

I'd like to slap some medical idiots myself.

I'm sure there subconsciously ready for it with all the incompetence. Lol

Having a systemic candida infection is like being in withdraw doctors are so unfamiliar with this or they turn their heads to it because their overprescribing antibiotics that destroy your gut in return it affects your mind.

I once heard a good doctor is one that listens to you. Unfortunately that's very few. Because they're driven by the Pharmaceuticals to have you chase symptoms.

I made the mistake of taking my girlfriend to a few doctor visits and she was definitely on board with them and was eating up every word they said so now I'm getting resistance from her also

Oh I forgot to mention don't let him give you any benzos during your procedure. Ask for Propofol that'll knock your butt out with very few side effects. It was the only time during this journey I was able to take a nap after my endoscopy and woke up feeling fine with no side effects from that drug

@RusTW

I'm with Deja Vu, if you had Cirrhosis, you'd be yellow skinned and yellowed eyed, plus coughing up blood and stuff. My aunts brother in law passed away of that due to excessive drinking. So, perhaps its just fatty liver that you might be dealing with or the tech who did the reading messed up.

I had something similar happen to me in mid 2014 were they did ultrasounds on one of my testicles since it was constantly aching...first ultrasound they found calcification which were precursors for testicular cancer. They did another set of ultrasounds in six months nothing. Clean. So, in that case, the tech messed up and the aches I was having was just anxiety messing me up. Funny thing, after that symptom went away is when my G.I. began to go bonkers...so I had an anxiety symptom shift...just like W/D morphing symptoms which is annoying/aggravating.

Update

With my GI symptoms I've noticed that most of the time I'm having somewhat of flatten stools, then other times almost normal round movements. It looks like my gut is tighten. Noticed this ever since I stopped the med since before I had normal movements. Seems the W/Ds screwed up with my gut.

Besides that, the emotional symptoms come and go. Though, when they do come its either severe rage, or utter sadness were I spend four hours straight crying.

Update

TMI though some will have a great laugh. First time since I was taking my A/D that I finally had a large round normal movement.

Ever since I had stopped taking my med, my movements were 'narrowing'. Now suddenly, afer a year there back to 'normal'.

Besides that, I've had more emotional symptoms like feeling off when I'm around people. Last night, I went to purchase take out for my parents. The Mexican food place was packed. I felt like I was back to the world since people noticed me. That's when the thoughts or voices began to taunt me, telling me don't bother trying to associate with anyone since I'm going to die, and I began to lip quietly to shut up several time, I put both of my hands on my head when several people around noticed I was doing that, and quickly I pretended that I had a headache.  So, some symptoms sadly are still there. :(
