Oh Gth27, @Gth27

So sorry, it still sounds so very tough.  I do recall that you may have had some of this going on even earlier.  I'm not sure for the time frame, in WD, to development of the akathisia, diagnostically, the movement disorder.  We just don't have enough hard data on WD, as yet.  And.......am so hoping that your frustration and restlessness is not something at all permanent or chronic.  I know it's hard right now.  (((((Gth27)))))

Akathisia vs restlessness, anxiety, agitation

Hoping you can find something in ^ that helps

Late 2023- gone to emeritus status, inactive, don't @ me, I can check who I've posted on, and I'm not really here like I used to be......thanks.

Started with psycho meds/psychiatric care circa 1988.  In retrospect, and on contemplation, situational overwhelm.

Rounding up to 30 years of medications(30 medication trials, poly-pharmacy maximum was 3 at one time).

5/28/2015-off Adderal salts 2.5mg. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014)

12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs.  My last psycho med ever!  Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to

2016 Dec 16 medication free!!

Longer signature post here, with current supplements.

Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016.  And.....I quit smoking 11/2021. Lapsed.  Redo of quit smoking 9/28/2022.  Can you say Hallelujah?(took me long enough)💜

How are you doing @Gth27

I wonder.

When I read stories like this one, I see that I have been experiencing the same symptoms of mirtazapine WD that still last, after more than 5 years off. Mental blank, head pressure, little bit of monofobia, blurred vision, constant feeling of terror or panic, short breathing, panic attacks, numbness, constant looping of sounds into head, akathisia. And, what also describes celebrity Gemma da Costa, feeling of having alcohol hangover in the morning. In the first year off I was feeling shaky like heroin addict.

I see that this drug is one of the hardest to get off. I CT other drugs, nothing was so hard. Zyprexa, kventiapine, lamitrogine - don't remember anything. Citalopram - constant darkness, but not that much. Wellbutrin - brain fog and fatigue, but not being shaky or anything like that. Prozac was harder, but not as much as mirtazapine.

And I also fell that this drug takes your every single mental aspect. It totally numb your brain. On SSRI you still feel or think something. But mirtazapine... Nothing!

What do you mean? Can you heal from long term taking mirtazapine?

2009-2010: Asentra (50 mg)

2011: Cipralex (10 mg)

2009-2011: tried Zyprexa (5/2.5mg), Kventiax  (50/25mg) and Abilify (low dosage) (started refusing it - being zombie)

2012-2016: Prozac (60 mg)

2016-2017: Alventa (75 mg)

2016: just tried Cymbalta and Ludiomil

2017-2019: Mirtazapine (30/45mg)

2012-2018: Wellbutrine (300 mg)

2014-2018: Lamotrigine (50/100/150 mg)

Supplements: B12, D, Mg

I know I wrote a lot of nonsense here. I'm sorry, I feel shamed!

Nice to ask. Well, I don't have panic attacks anymore and I don't feel like heroine addict in the morning (shaky). And in the first year off I sometimes felt like I am half awake half in sleep. Now I sleep good "in one peace". That's the improvement. Maybe I am 20% better that in the first year.

@Prozack definitely some of my symptoms are gonna be permanent like the visual snow syndrome and tinnitus/hyperacusis. The only symptom that got somewhat better is the headaches. They are weaker in intensity but my sleep is ****. Tbh, if I can fix my sleep and get rid of the headaches I won't come back to this site.
