Rachellynn
I understand, but who develops these drugs? Are Dr’s not responsible for understanding the mechanism of the drugs? I feel like it’s ALMOST as bad as labotomies. There is so much ancient wisdom in the world. Ayurveda, yoga, Taoism, Buddhism, and there are also truths. We don’t like to tell the truth, there isn’t much a sense of community anymore. Storytelling, villages, support. If it’s not the Dr’s responsibility (they told my family it was perfectly safe, few side effects, no withdrawal) and they didn’t monitor me. If it’s only tested for 12 weeks or whatever, why have we been on them for years and years? Who can i blame? What is wrong with these companies? Our world? Why is money the only thing that matters, when it doesn’t matter at all? Can we start a village? I dream of going off the grid... Rachellynn
I think this is actually HUGE. I was in the hospital a lot when my acute withdrawal kicked me down and my potassium and sodium were both low - a lot. They told me to “eat a hamburger” and told me not to be one of these people that comes to the ER every week. Anyhow, mineral depletion is no joke. I did a Hair/Tissue mineral analysis and i was low in everything. Rachellynn
Hi there. I used the search bar to try and find an answer to this question and couldn’t find it. I have a cold and it’s stuck in my sinus’ - it feels like cement in my nasal cavities...I’ve bedn inhaling steam with essential oils AND using a netti pot but and cannot get any air through my nose and I’m starting to panic. Any recommendations? chrona
homeopathic can work. sorry I don't have the name at my fingertips. also, try Buteyko breathing. There are U-tubes on line that give a technique that clear your sinus. it can be quite magical. I had this chronically and used all sorts of devices and then would end up breathing with my mouth open. then there are cold medicines that do work but I assume you are trying not to use them. prescription nose drops are great but v. addictive. many years ago given sinequan for depression bad reaction so tiny dose of meleril to balance... quit after a year or so c/t years pass no drugs reg doc had me try all of the a/d bc of upset due to divorce. couldn't handle any. took klonopin to sleep .5 mg 2003 taper klonopin hooked on tramadol accidentally. 2006-2008 husband had migraines and took them like candy. so i became dependent too. c/t 2008 diagnosis of porphyria after years of symptoms, then toxic event made me really ill. gabapentin 300mg every 3 hours , 6x day. propranolol 180 mg 6x / day since 2012 clonazepam prescribed as 1 mg / day but beginning to take more to deal with withdrawals and sleeplessness Link to comment
Rachellynn
I used some Vic’s Vapor Rub and it helps a tiny bit. I forgot to ask...i don’t know if it’s safe to take a nasal decongestant, just one night? I know that breathing method but literally can’t get air through😂😭but thanks for reminding me cuz i do want to practice that! I have a book somewhere😁 colds are are so much worse when you already have sinus issues from withdrawal😓 thank you you so much for replying to me. Rachellynn
Haven’t you heard of vagal reactions?😱 It’s basically shock. Saw stars, couldn’t feel my legs, urge to go to the bathroom. Administrator Altostrata Posted December 14, 2018 Administrator Share Posted December 14, 2018 Do you mean vasovagal syncope? That is an autonomic nervous system glitch. It also sounds like you have borderline or maybe outright hypokalemia. This can be very serious. This may not be because of "micronutrient depletion," it could be a metabolic issue. It can cause many symptoms, including arrhythmia and sleeplessness. Has your doctor addressed this? Are you taking potassium supplements? Please note we don't generally counsel people about general health issues such as hypokalemia or colds or flu, we don't really know anything about them. Other members might have the same issues, but support for them is beyond what we do here. Does Remeron help you sleep? Are you still taking 7.5mg? What is your sleep pattern? This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. Rachellynn
I’ve been going SLIGHTLY low in potassium. 3.2-3.4 and 3.5 is normal. This is a part of withdrawal/stress for me. Also once was slightly low in Zinc and Sodium. I’m not taking supplements for potassium as high potassium is actually way more dangerous than low potassium. I am however drinking lots of coconut water/high potassium foods. I’ve had a million western med tests and nothing else is wrong with me. Besides asthma - also withdrawal induced. I could also have chronic viral stuff (not recognized by western medicine). Ive been waking up to nightmares last few nights. Couldn’t sleep until 4am this morning and usually i was sleeping really well before the vagal reaction. Still taking 7.5. It’s not helping so I’m wondering if i should upside to stabilize? Administrator Altostrata Posted December 14, 2018 Administrator Share Posted December 14, 2018 Dysautonomia is not well understood. It can come and go. Many withdrawal symptoms would be classed as dysautonomia. One can develop it apart from withdrawal, however. Many people here are recovering from dysautonomia. It seems you might be have a tendency to low potassium, you are wise to keep the level up with high-potassium foods. What is your sleep pattern? When do you go to bed, what time do you get up, what happens during the night? Since you've been taking 7.5mg Remeron since March and it's been working, if I were you, I would not increase it. Something else is going on. This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. I get tired about 9/10pm but then i jolt awake with anxiety and then ruminate with fears and such. I usually am up by 8am - when i sleep 7am. its like before i got in remeron - it feels the same - I’m scared that if i relax something bad will happen. Is this not adequate? I don’t know what else to tell you. I either fall asleep around 10 or midnight and then wake up panicky and fall back asleep until 6:30 or 7am - don’t get out of bed until 8am. Or last night i was anxious and pacing until 4am and then finally fell asleep for a few hours. Woke up at 8am. My senses are sensitive. Hearing, vision (smell has decreased) all since those vagal reactions. My body was having tremors when i woke up last night from a scary dream. Rachellynn
In my “real” life before this madness it was normal for me to go to sleep until 3am. Toss and turn for an hour or two and then fall back asleep until 7am. Have you ever ever been really hungover? That’s what this feels like but groundhogs day 😕 Rachel - 1998-2012 Prozac 20mg 2012-2014 Prozac 40mg Sept 17 Remeron 15mg, March ‘18 7.5mg Jan 31 - Feb 13 1/4 - 1mg Ativan Jan 31 - feb 5 - 2mg Prozac, 4mg feb 7 feb 10 - 10mg rem, Feb 27 - 7.5mg rem Feb 27 - March 6th - 5mg Baclofen March 12th - Keppra 250mg March 24 - 30mg phenobarbital Link to comment

Rachellynn
Hello all! I CT from Prozac almost four years ago and am still messed up from it. I’m currently on 7.5mg of Remeron. I’ve had some recent traumas that brought back a lot of my initial symptoms. Should i try and micro-dose Prozac? At 1mg and to try and stabilize? And then taper one at a time from there?! I’m feeling HORRIBLE. Sick, anxious, agoraphobic, can’t settle down, etc...thank you! Are they external stressors? If yes, will they reduce in the near future. We have to remember that turning to a drug is a quick fix for what may be a temporary problem. And the quick fix could end up being a long term problem. * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment
Rachellynn
Well. It was physical shock reactions to deep touch (pain) and loud noise. The stressors are gone but my body is stuck in PTSD and i can tell my body isn’t absorbing nutrients like it should due to chronic stress. I really dont don’t want a quick fix, I’m just wondering if i should try low dose Prozac due to not having recovered from initially CT. Going to be trying BEEF ORGANS - hoping that helps!
