Alanmane: try hard

Recommended Posts

Alanmane

I understand that it is a safe and sensible option to go so slowly. I do not want to suffer in the process either, but I think it depends on the time spent on the drug, the age of the person, the circumstances that I am living in, it greatly influences the speed to get out of the drug. I will not use a calendar or a written rule for this process, I will pay attention to my body and each time it reduces it will be little dose but enough to reach my goal in about a year. I observe that every time I reduce and pass the symptoms of WD, I feel better and stronger. I am sure that the 10% option is a good and safe thing, even though I do not think it is the only valid option and I could do well with 15.20%. If this were the case I would only gain time, if I can not always go slower. I hope you understand my way of thinking, I am not in a hurry or that I want to suffer, I want to optimize my time.

A greeting.

Some members have tried to go faster and had to hold for longer or increase their dose, and it has ended up taking them longer than if they had done the 10% reduction suggested by SA.

It's been a month since my last small reduction and I'm ready to go on. My ability to reason and think is better yet I notice little facility to have fast and organized thoughts, I am anguished to think if this causes effexor, withdrawal, my natural mind, restlessness ... I guess I will never know. It's probably what bothers me the most, the fact that I have to concentrate to think about something, many times I realize that I just do not think of thoughts and it misses me. Other times I want to express some idea and I can not find the words or I forget quickly. I accept this state and it is not alarming either but my perfectionist personality does not tolerate failures or poor performance and it hurts me, I wonder if this is something common in someone who takes antidepressants or who is reducing his dose.

This site is a great support for me.

Greetings to all.

Hola, Alanme,

All of those cognitive symptoms are definitely common in withdrawal and tapering. They will improve.

What rate are you tapering at? Please update your signature--how long did it take you to go from 150mg to 64mg?

Hello blue sky, my signature is updated! Since I have been reducing for 7 months from 150, I made a fall from 112 to 75 at the same time without much trouble. I think after having suffered a terrible withdrawal a year ago (I took 75mg every 3 days because of my ignorance and my psychiatrist who did not inform me of the danger), at the point where I am going to go slowly but surely, I consider myself very well compared to when I was taking 150, I feel more human after 3 years on this drug. I am relieved to read that what happens to me is common, I trust that in each reduction my thinking will be clarified.

Thanks for answering

Hello colleagues, is the fifth day since I reduced to 56mg, no serious symptoms in particular, only some stomach upset, lack of appetite, bad mood, apathy ... All at a tolerable level and not extreme. Maybe I'm having luck I do not know, I'm just reducing when my body tells me, without following guidelines or patterns, they are useful but I need to do this personal process as I feel I should. Slow but safe.

I emphasize the deep spiritual feeling that I am living since I reduce and I am at less dose, I find it hard to know who I am, how I am, what my character is ... It seems that the drug affected everything and now I observe what is below and I do not like it , I feel helpless and insecure, as I do not know the machine that I am piloting.

In spite of the normal discomforts, I know I'm doing it right, sometimes I'm scared but I'm better than when I was taking more doses.

I hope that you are well.

a greeting

This is the only site on i can explain this. On a english forum and I'm from Spain. I'm feel alone with this process, no professionals, family don't understand, friends only imagine... Only letters in my phone screen.

From 150mg to 56mg in 8 months, no symptoms prevent me from living and I can do all my tasks. I appreciate the advice but I follow my rhythm and my guidelines, I have been reading information about this topic for months and I feel that I have to stop now, I do not need more information and nobody is answering me at the moment (maybe because I translate and I do not understand what I write). I do not want compassion or patting on anyone's back, nor acting as a victim.

I imagine that some mods will think that I am stupid for not paying attention to them religiously, but the reality is that not everyone needs 10% every 4-6 weeks, it is a safe option but not the only valid one, and this I am demonstrating with my experience, minimal retreats accelerating a little more, maybe it's because I was 3 years in effexor, because I'm 26 years old, I have good health ... Who knows, but I'm not suffering too much and I'm glad.

Queiro (= I want) stop thinking about this and concentrate on other things.

Thank you

Hi Alan, The members who come to the site are usually the ones who have difficulties and need help. Because they feel bad, they can not support other members. Members who feel good do not visit the site very often because they do not need help.

Your Introduction topic is to ask questions and record your progress. If you ask a question, you get an answer. If you update your progress, there is no need for anyone to post.

We offer suggestions. It's okay to reduce the way you want to do it. But remember that you may need to slow down as your dose decreases. If your withdrawal symptoms worsen, you should take the same dose for a longer time and then slow down.

6 days since I reduced to 56 mg, it is being tolerable but in the next cut reduce less than 10% I think. I feel nervous, more depressed, helpless, with low confidence, in alert of the imaginary danger ... Last moments in my short life with extreme negative emotions, catastrophic anxieties and destruction of the self. I am an anxious and impulsive person. I think I got to hate myself the same many times.

I would like to have some advice on how to deal with the restlessness and agitation that I have, if someone knows some cognitive technique to stop the anxiety I would appreciate it.

These days I also feel more tired, with less energy and motivation. It's ridiculous how a few pearls have so much power. Now I feel anguished to see myself dealing with this evil being far from being enough to undermine my serenity, my self-esteem, my personality. I will not stay and regret, I want solutions to improve this stage of the process (150 mg to 56 mg in 8 months). I need a method, some way to make this easier. Now my darkness invades every cell of my body.

Thanks for answering everything I write, you are great.

My suggestion would be to make a small increase in your dose.

I think you went from 64mg to 56mg.  A 10% reduction would be been to take 57.6mg so I would take an extra 1.5mg or 2mg straight away.

I'm going to do this, it's true, I sharpened a little more than 10%, how can I know how many pearls with 2mg?

I would like to try to take my dose at night, during the day I feel that it affects me negatively (mood, nervousness, sexuality ...), if it is not counterproductive I would like to try it. In the past I did it and it went well. Any suggestions?

It is better to move the dose 1 hour each day.

I did not think that a small reduction like 10% would affect me so negatively, today a week ago since I reduced and I am stable although my mood is low, motivation, pleasure ... I have even stopped enjoying sex probably because of the internal agitation, I just hope this happens fast.

Before I cried, for almost a year I did not cry, it has been something magical, sad but liberating to bring tears. I try to find an explanation of why I feel low energy, I'm hardly hungry, I feel anxious ... I would give everything to know how to control it although it is surely something that I have to go through and there is no more.

When people usually stabilize from a reduction? I imagine it's normal for the first week to be difficult.

Probably not the last reduction you made. Previous reductions have probably caused the symptoms, not the new reduction.  The other reductions have added up and are probably causing symptoms now.

Different times are needed to stabilize. But many members can reduce again after 4 weeks. But if you still have withdrawal symptoms, it is best to wait 5 or 6 weeks before reducing again.

This time I will wait more time to reduce, until I feel strong. Having cried after a year without power is a good sign, I trust that this second week will be easier than this

Second day since I upgraded to 57mg, I have a series of symptoms that I have not had for months: sweating, restlessness, depression, obsessive thoughts, fear of failure, less pleasure, fear, I'm not hungry all day, I wake up with a strange feeling in the back of the head, I feel adrenaline or cortisol when I wake up, I feel dizzy and anxious. For months I did not feel this helplessness and right now I doubt everything, is this WD or am I with less dose of effexor? At the moment I can work but this must end soon or I will deteriorate quickly.

Does anyone feel these adrenaline or cortisol discharges in the cerebellum? They are like pangs of physical fear, it's very strange.

regards

Ok, now I read it. Do you think it should go back to 64mg or would it be counterproductive? 8 days ago I reduced from 64mg to 56 and two days ago I raised 1mg to make the 10% correct. If this is only WD I prefer to go back to 64mg and find myself better and after 2 months reduce less than 10% ...

It takes about 4 days for a dose change to get to full level in the blood and it takes a bit longer for it to register in the brain.

It has only been 2 days since you increased your dose.  You need to be patient and wait for longer.

Yes .. Only two days ago I raised 1mg and 8 since I lowered the dose, it is a short time but it is scary and I automatically think that this will not be better, my way of being does not help either. I'm going to listen to you, in fact now I'm ashamed to have ignored waiting two months before reducing, now it would be fine ... I feel stupid even though it was my choice to do this and I do not go into anxiety or panic crisis, it's just Anguish and nervousness.

Thanks for all

Just to say that all my symptoms have improved a few hours ago, at nightfall. It is a relief and I am surprised by this greater tranquility suddenly.

Today I woke up without the anxiety of the previous days, even though I had a strong insomnia and could not sleep until late in the morning, I took 2.5mg of lorazepam. I just got up and it seems that my mind is not so accelerated, I hope that the sharp Pico of WD has already passed and began to stabilize me.

A few months ago I used eliquid with 20mg of nicotine, now it would be difficult for me to stop this addiction but I am afraid that my condition worsens.

It is not recommended to take a benzodiazepine. You can quickly become dependent on them and then have a new problem to deal with. They can also cause rebound anxiety when the effect goes away, which makes you want to take another dose.

It is better to use non drug techniques:  Sleep problems - that awful withdrawal insomnia

Take that dose yesterday because the hours passed and I could not sleep, I kept thinking. But I know it was something specific and I will not take more, today I find myself considerably better than yesterday. I am taking 400mg of magnesium citrate and fish oil. Today is the 9th day of the reduction and I hope that the worst has already happened

Magnesium works best if taken in small amounts during the day. I take 75 mg in the morning and 75 mg in the evening. Sometimes I take 75 mg at lunchtime if my anxiety increases.

Some members dissolve it in water and drink the water during the day.

My capsules are 400mg, it seems to work well in the morning although I could try taking it during the day.

Today is the 10th day since I went down from 64mg to 56mg, 4 days ago at 57mg which was not 10%. I would like to deal with this situation, my symptoms are: worry, lack of appetite, insomnia, anxiety, nervousness ... Imagine that the way is longer in these 57mg, although if I could go back to 64mg and disappear in these symptoms what I would, I can just wait to see if this evolves. On Monday you start with a psychologist to make this path easier. In the brain it is weakening me. ChessieCat advised me to endure and have patience, and what I am doing would be better than what it had been to feel better.

Alan, how did you make this reduction? Did you take out some beads? Are you taking venlafaxine XR (extended-release)?

Alan, ¿cómo hiciste esta reducción? ¿Sacaste algunas cuentas? ¿Está tomando venlafaxine XR (de liberación prolongada)?

Hello, I was 4 weeks or 5 in 64mg, a capsule of 37.5mg xr (140perlas) + 37.5mg xr (- 40 pearls), 10 days ago feeling good I decided to reduce 10% and I got 20 more pearls, that was A small miscalculation since it was 11%. 4 days ago I increased 1mg to make 10% correctly (37.5 and 37.5 - 65 beads). In summary I have gone from removing 40 pearls to 65, I thought it would be easy since other times I made larger cuts without much problem, I understand that I am at a low dose and it is more annoying to reduce.
