I know i still need to post my diary but its pretty much the same ...go to bed about 10.00 wake up about 4.00 anxiety and panic  pretty much all day from then with fear hair triggers and crying...the only medication i take is 5mg felopidine for bloodpressure after breakfast and 2mg diazepam in morning to try and calm things down which doesnt work ....i know now i have literally cold turkeyed 3 tablets ...sertraline march 18 .....Mirtazapine 3 montjs may 19 doctors idea due to side effects and 20mg Citalopram june19 again due to extreme side effects which im still suffering with though on a slightly lower level .....do o reinstate any or plough through these symptons its been 3 weeks since citalopram i suspect i wassuffering withdrawal from mirt and start up from cit......doctor said no withdrawal from 7.5mg mirt as it is a low dose !!!! And the only problem i will get from citalopram is nausea !!!! I did well on mirr at first it helped with Sertraline withdrawal but later had side effects because of the state i was in and had a recent death to deal with and family pressure i relented to the switch to cit literally stop one start another that's when the big problems started...hindsight is a wonderful thing ....these symptons i have now are so triggering and will last most of day and i will get some repreive in the evening....my eating is ok but am not so sociable due to 0 stress tolerance...

Why are you taking diazepam at 7 a.m. in the morning? Does it make you drowsy?

My guess is it's wearing off in the early morning hours and you're getting breakthrough anxiety.

Suggest gradually moving it later by an hour each day until you are taking it closer to bedtime. Please keep daily notes while you do this.

Eventually, you might find you need to split the dose to avoid breakthrough symptoms, then gradually decrease to go off.

If you've been taking diazepam frequently, your system may have become used to it. If you skip doses, you might get withdrawal symptoms.

Please try taking it regularly, at night. Keep track of your symptom pattern. We can help you taper off once we get it settled.

Hi Aquarius,

I don’t obsess about these things whatsoever because of my beliefs. I won’t mention them on here, as I don’t think it’s appropriate, but if you want to know feel free to message me.

I’m really sorry you’re stressing so much right now.

Do you have some distractions that can help help you to cope with anxiety? I’m going through waves at the moment myself and I’ve been stuck in bed all all day due to my illness, but I’ve managed to find things to distract myself with. Do you like doing art and crafts? Do you like music, watching DVDs and Netflix? Word games?

Going out in nature can be really soothing, do you have any parks nearby? A beach?

I hope you manage to cope. Withdrawals really are the worst thing we will go through, but our brains are incredible! They have an amazing capacity to heal.

By the way, when you say you haven’t been taking diazepam that frequently, how often have you been taking it?

Sending hugs🤗

Need to see those daily symptom notes! Some of what you're feeling might be side effects of diazepam or inconsistent dosing of it.

Was thinking about that or Sertraline......had a previously booked appointment with Mental Health Team because of how i was amd have been they prescribed 50Mg sertraline to up to 100mg after one week amd 25mg of pregabalin ? 25mg twice a day 😉😁

The Mental Health Team is not aware of the risk of kindling if you take too high a dose of anything in a sensitized state.

If I were you, I would not take both of those drugs at those dosages at the same time. Good medical practice says change one drug at a time.

If you must experiment, if I were you, I'd take only 1mg sertraline. This topic explains how to take a very small amount Tips for tapering off Zoloft (sertraline)

If you are having adverse effects from diazepam, reinstating sertraline or taking gabapentin is not likely to help. We still need those daily symptom notes to make an informed guess about what you should do. FYI @Shep

Just journaling my morning as its been bad a bit similar to yesterday ....

9.30pm to 4.00am  Slept

Woke fairly calm try to keep it that way with breathing unfortunately thought came in ...

6.30 trying to calm panic that is building

7.00 1mg Diazepam

Feeling pressure on top of head tingling and on verge of panic

7.30 Breakfast

Want to cry ears ringing pressure in head and neck

8.00 1mg Diazepam

Went and laid down and came over all calm must have napped for a few minutes. Like yesterday woke with a jolt and panicked like i didnt have enough time my life was running out !! Really felt quite manic and could not settle at all !!

8.59 on phone to sister to try and calm down it did work and came over drowsy with head pressure especially forehead tingling and inability to think straight ...all the time feeling scared and not knowing whats happening like losing control of your senses.

9.30 5mg felopidine 1115mg omega 3

Do you know what triggered it?  Have you taken/experienced anything in the last week or two that might have increased your withdrawal symptoms.  You stopped sertraline in June 2021 and stopped at a much higher dose that SA would suggest so you might be going through windows and waves.

It Doesn’t end at “0”

What non drug tools did you use to try to keep yourself calm?

Did you experience something that was uncomfortable and then got caught up with fear about what you were feeling which started the panic loop?

See the labelled diagram on this page about what happens in the body when we become anxious:

I appreciate you taking the time out to reply..luckily at about 1 o'clock it suddenly stopped literally like someone flipping a switch..I had the precious day been to the hairdressers which has a massage chair whilst they wash your hair ..I believe it was that , that over stimulated me ...thankfully I have returned to withdrawal normal which in my case is quite functional..

I'm glad that it passed.

I find it helpful whenever I start feeling "off" to try to assess what might be going on.  My first few thoughts are:  am I tired, hungry, sick, angry/upset.  If it's not one of those things, then I think about what I've been doing and the environment I've been in the recent past.  Then I track back a bit further.

The key is to try to learn the first signs of it starting and then using non drug techniques to calm yourself so that you don't get caught up in the loop.  If I find myself feeling a bit agitated/overstimulated I often say out loud the word "chill" or "you're okay".

Thank you @ChessieCatI appreciate your kind words ..unfortunately for me this morning isn't great ,I have my first Grandchild arriving imminently and I'm a mess ..yes I know I was so silly jumping at 6mg but it had been quite stressful getting the measurements, the scales didn't weigh properly and I could not get liquid ..after reading this site I still can't believe I did it but going lower seemed quite stressful at the time 🙄 to be fair up to now it hasn't been bad I have been functional it's just recently its ramped up ..change of season maybe..I would like advice in reinstatement I know the risks but if this carries on I would like to maybe think about it .I know I'm out of the window ..

You can make your own liquid from sertraline tablets.

See Post #1 of this topic:

tips-for-tapering-zoloft-sertraline

how-to-make-a-liquid-from-tablets-or-capsules

If you do decide to reinstate, my suggestion would be to start with a tiny dose, like 0.25mg (if that amount worries you try less), to test to see how you react to it.  If that went okay, then you could increase it to 0.5mg and wait for at least 1 week, keeping notes of what symptoms improve/worsen.  After 1 week if there was no change whatsover (either good or bad) you could increase to 0.75mg and repeat.

It is better to start with a small amount and increase by small amounts.  The idea of reinstating is not to get rid of withdrawal symptoms completely but to bring them to a bearable level, or in other words, taking the edge off the symptoms.

Started having a pattern of one night good sleep next night bad...the bad night is because my mind won't shut off it continually torments me with negative thoughts and I have no control...when the morning comes I'm.normally a sobbing mess ...I feel such intense fear ...and it convinces me that this is the real me ...has anyone had this and it has gone away ...
