Petition to Honour Professor Heather Ashton in the UK

Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, so please advise otherwise if it is not.

The link below is to a petition I have started in the UK. I have raised it to assist some of the UK benzodiazapine withdrawal community in getting Professor Heather Ashtons work recognised via the UK government/queens honours list. The next set of honours will be bestowed for the Queens birthday in June 2019. Many of you will know of Prof Ashtons work, especially of the Ashton Manual for withdrawing from benzo medications. The principles of the manual have been adapted to help many thousands of people taper off psychiatric medications and are advocated on SA.

There is more information in the supporting statement of the petition and the links to various sources I have included therein. Please take some time to read it and sign and share the petition if you are able.

There have been so many positive comments left by signatories to the petition. Heather Ashton had a positive impact on so many peoples lives. Please keep signing and share the petition. Thank you "First met this truly lovely lady in 1983 when she oversaw my withdrawal from Benzodiazepines which at the time was very much in its infancy. She became -not just my doctor- but my mentor and friend. She never gave up looking for a cure and support for us. Her dedication and patience never faltered. It was she who persuaded me to write my first book about my dependency on these drugs and later three novels. She was my inspiration wnd like many others, I will always be in her debt!! A truly remarkable lady who deserves recognition!"
