That is listed as an anti histamine.

Those are another can go one  way or the other.

So going forward, with 4 different factors other than the time change so close, if you get worse you can rule out the timing and chalk up any new or worsening symptoms to the constant tampering from the other drugs-substances-MRI.

Good luck,

Good luck,

I dont think I can 100% rule out the dosage change just because I added another variable.  But I definitely can't blame it.  The mri was prudent at the time.  And antibiotic necessary with infection.   They always do that until culture comes back bc a uti can get worse fast.   But I should have maybe waited and took that chance.

I am going to try and be aware of if it calms some after taking my fluvoximine dose.   So maybe it will be good when I'm evened out 100%.  4 hours to go.  I do think I need to be totally at 12 hours to see any improvement.

Trying to stay calm, listen to music and rest.  Even with an orchestra in my head.  I dont know what to do for sleep because it will make tinnitus worse.  Because I'm really being hard on myself today.  Like its all my fault.

9/2018- lexapro low dose few days.11/3/2018- zoloft 2 days

1/17/19 - 2/15/19- mirtazapine 15 mg - started taper on 1/30

Started taper again  1/7/21- 15 mg, 2/7/21- 12.5 mg, 3/7/21 -10 mg, 4/1/21- 9 mg, 5/1/21- 8.1 mg, 5/27/21- updose to 10 mg,  6/21-  in patient updose to 50 mg,  6/25/21- reduce to 10 mg (current) .  9/5- split dose 5mg am/5 mg pm.  9/20- 4 mg am/5 mg pm .

9/1/21-  took one dose of vistril 50 mg.

9/1/21-accidental double dose of seroquel- 50 mg

So I messed up last night and took 50 mg of seroquel by mistake.  I did realize it after but was too late at that point.   It was a very weird night.  I dont recall it in the sense of whether I slept at all or not.  Its like a memory eraser.   I was much calmer today and tinnitus improved, but I cannot say its because I slept because I cant remember!  🙄   but now I have this restlessness in my legs.     I hope its only due to being nervous about taking this dose and not akithisia or something .  There goes my anxiety.    Just when I was almost near the finish line of my dose split.

I am also in the process of trying to get short term disability so maybe im nervous about it.  Which brings me to another question @Colonial.  I believe you said you do not work due to WD-  Did you have a hard time with doctors being agreeable to that if you went the disability route?   Seems like in order to be out they want you to be med compliant.   I'm going to talk to my gp but I have to give the disability administrator my reason for being out.  Seems like GAD would be it, brought on my insomnia etc.  Just wondering your 2 cents.  If this isn't appropriate for my thread I apologize.   😬

No, that wasn't what I said.

I never said I was out on disability for WD.

GAD and Insomnia are just the symptoms, not your diagnosis

Your diagnosis would be: sequalae - anti depressant withdrawal syndrome.

Sorry maybe it was someone else or you said others can't work.   I'm not sure my doctor would be on board with that.  Or would argue that I cant be in wd if im still on meds. 🙄  And I've never seen it in the listing of reasons for disability. I'll look into.  Thanks.

Of course not. Your doctor doesn't want to be held legally responsible for malpractice, which could be inferred from an admittance of disability.  You may need a new doctor who isn't responsible for the debacle.

Feeling really awful.   Still can't sleep.   Body jerks all night.  Which I've had but never this bad.   Also a sense of restlessness and exhaustion at same time.   Did I mess myself up that been when I took two doses of seroquel two nights ago?   Only one night, I'm at 25 now.   Never did that before.  Is there anything that can help with sleep?  I cant even lay down to relax with this restlessness.

Is it possible that seroquel may now be acting paradoxically on me?   I'm wondering it has been over 2.5 years on it.   Since I'm waking up now after taking it after a few hours.   And the body jerks I have are crazy bad now.  Is there a way of bridging to something else like they do with Prozac?   Or am I totally stuck with this med that is not beneficial to my sleep anymore?  I was saving it to taper last since it was sedating but doesn't seem to be working anymore.

I am concerned about this internal restlessness that I have now.   Its something I've never had before and its hard to describe. Feels different than normal anxiety and restlessness.   It came on the day after I took a double dose of my seroquel by mistake.  And the body jerks were awful.  But last night I did have some relief with the body jerks.      I'm concerned I may have triggered akathisia with the extra dose?  If the double dose triggered this will it now stick around while I'm still on it?  I had read it can develop even years after being on the med.   Is the only way to stop the akathisia to get off the med or can it settle on its own while I'm still on it?

The basic principles behind adverse reactions and massive dose changes hold for any med or symptom, as well as to prognosis for recovery.  That this particular symptom is new dose not mean it will fall outside of those parameters.

So if its an adverse reaction to the one higher dose, it could settle down since I am back at my lower dose ?  I just always thought adverse reactions were dangerous and needed to be addressed.   But if its a new side effect, reducing might help?  But I'd have to wait to do that because I'm still just finishing my dose splitting of fluvoximine .  I was just asking for advice if I should just wait this out, especially if its aka.

As stated before, no one can tell you one way or the other what is causing your symptoms when you constantly have so many drug interactions and medication dose changes.

You always seem to think a symptom is from the last move you made.

The past 2 weeks everything was the fault of the split dosing.

Now it's the accidental double dose you want to make the culprit.

Symptoms can be months delayed from drops or reactions.

You can still be having issues from the mirtazapine and gabapentin withdrawal

I don't think anyone can give you more advise on what to do than has already been given.

You need to go back through your thread from the beginning, take notes on what was said and make your own decisions going forward.

I don't think we can advise you further on this.

Okay. I'm sorry to have bothered you.  I just figured since you knew all that's happened to me I could get your opinion if I should hold and ride it out, from someone who has been there.  I know its hard to tell what caused what.   And yes I assume its the last change.     My dose split is done tomorrow.  I'm back to my regular seroquel.   I'm not making any changes if thats what would be best, as least to see if things settle down.   I value your time and information.

You also started adding Vistaril recently.

Please add that to your medication signature line.

It very well may be that if you had not started adding Vistaril the accidental double dose would not have caused symptoms, it could be a Vistaril-Seroquel interaction.

As long as you continue to play with fire (adding new drugs) you will continue to get burned.

I'm not upset, but you need to start finding other ways f coping than coming into this forum and asking the same questions continually.

We are peer support for going off drugs.

Not for holding your hand as you continue to reap the choices of going back to the very class of drugs that made you sick to begin with.

If this is a choice you continue to want make, we really can't help.

We can't continue to hold your hand in ruminations.

Perhaps another support website that supports members who choose to stay or add medications would be more beneficial for you.  We do not "manage" drug cocktails for people who want to keep adding new medications.

If you recently started taking Vistaril in addition to your seroguel, please stop taking it. The two interact in a very dangerous way and can produce all the symptoms you are currently experiencing. Your doctor should never have prescribed using these two medications at the same time.

Until you have done this and gotten stable there is nothing more that we can do. All the information we have available has been posted above many times. We can't keep repeating it.

20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013.

Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks.  The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better.

Final Dose 0.016mg.     Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017

I took only one on 9/1.  Thats all.  Previously it was months ago.   I did not know this.  My gosh thank you.  I should have checked.   I saw on drugs.com that it can cause heart trouble.   I am staying where I am and stabilizing.   The split dose is done tomorrow.  And yes she is no longer my doctor .   She wasn't the one who prescribed it but mentioned it.   She didn't want to continue treating me because I wouldn't "comply".

What happened to the body jerks after you take Seroquel at night? Are they lessening now?

They are still happening.  Some nights are worse than others.   Or maybe sometimes I sleep through them.    I will feel them

During the day here and there,  but not really notice much because I'm not at rest. Over the last months they have become more bothersome.

So last night was a new experience with these.   It was my head/neck that would jerk and torso.   Kept me up most of the night.   Quite a disturbing feeling to say the least.  This morning I am numb in my head and face. Stiff in my neck. Feels like I have to keep moving it.  I assume from it moving all night.  I was just starting to get more sleep the two previous nights and now this.

I added magnesium which I have been taking at night three nights ago,  just started with 80 mg.  Thought it may help with it to relax the muscles.  Could this aggravate the jerks?  The two previous nights were not this bad.

Probably not.

Withdrawal has lots of ups and downs. You might experience a symptom one day and never again. These one-off symptoms are not significant. Anyone might have an occasional stiff neck from sleeping oddly.

Do you mean withdrawal from splitting my dose?  Or in general from previous drops?    It wasn't the stiff neck that I found so bad, it was the jerks. The jerks aren't a one-off symptom. They have been going on a while. I just mentioned the stuff neck because it was probably from my head jerking all night    What might cause them?  Seroquel?

You've been taking 25mg Seroquel at night since February, 2019? When did these jerks start? Do you get them during the day? Have they gotten worse since you split the Luvox dose?

What times o'clock do you take each of your drugs, with their dosages? What times o'clock are the jerks at their worst?

This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner.

Yes on the seroquel.   I have had these jerks for a while. One here one there.   Some nights worse than others.   And I think I may have been able to sleep thru them because they weren't so bad.    I started the luvox split around 8/20.   I have had a big increase in the jerks recently.   I am taking notes now that im done with splitting.  And I've never had them in my head.     Since they were mainly in my legs the neuro said it was probably PLMD.  I will feel one here and there during day.  Mostly don't notice it.

5 mg (.026 pw) - 10 am.

5 mg (.026 pw) - 10 pm

25 mg seroquel - 10:30 pm.

Jerks started last night around 12 .  It does seem to come on predominantly when I first go to sleep but I do get them if I wake up in the night.

Can you take the Luvox earlier, such as 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.? The Luvox may be interacting with the Seroquel. Please note any unusual symptoms after you make this change.

After you settle for a few days on a new Luvox schedule, please consider reducing Seroquel. If you've had them before, they may be an adverse effect of Seroquel. See Tips for tapering off quetiapine (Seroquel)
