Is having the  two doses not the same amount every day going to cause problems?   I tried to research it on here for information but I couldn't find anything so im sorry to have to ask.  Does it make the level of the med uneven in the body?

You had mentioned lowering the evening dose but I dont think my system can handle that now so I am concerned .  I am really having severe symptoms now.

No.

It may take a week for the 1mg reduction to settle out.

I am just concerned I did two changes too close together already been so sensitive.  If I wait and things don't settle out would I be able to updose back?

Yes oh sorry I forgot it.  4 mg at 8 am. I seem to get the dizzyness and disconnected feeling after taking it.  Then the tinnitus increases over the hours.   Mid-afternoon I get very anxious and agitated,  restless and these bouts are on and off , occurring again around dinner time.   After pm dose, I get very anxious going to bed and dizzy.

Before the am luvox dose I seem to feel better, depending on the sleep I've had.

Your updose in May to 10mg was too high. It appears the dosage is still too high.

I am sorry the change seems to be bumpy. Please hang in there for another week.

So strange because seemed  ok when it was once a day  at night , even though I may have had interdose withdrawal the next day. I didnt feel this bad then.  I think I preferred once a day.    I am hanging in there.   I dont plan to change anything now for a while.  I am too nervous of the tinnitus getting even worse and my sleep is very poor as it is.      Thanks for your help.   Ill keep with my notes.

You could move 3mg of the morning dose later by an hour each day until you're taking it 8mg in the evening and 1mg in the morning.

I question whether you had interdose withdrawal from Luvox or the prior night's Seroquel wearing off.

I will think about it.  Maybe need to give it some more time.   So what would be the reason to still take only  1 mg in the am?

If I recently just split my dose will moving it back really upset things?

Sorry.   I know you had said give the reduction another week.   Just asking why 1 mg would stay in the morning.   I am not familiar with the logistics of split dosing, even when I lowered the am..  It confuses me because in my mind it sounds uneven.  I always thought doses had to be even.    But I dont know how these drugs are released and used in the body.  Is there someplace I can read up on it?

Could l consider for now taking my pm dose back at 10 pm?  Maybe that will help with the symptoms I have after I take it at least at night? Maybe I will sleep through it again.  I'll have to be mindful if I get more body jerks again.

The reason to take 1mg in the a.m. is in case you do have interdose withdrawal from Luvox.

I suggested gradually moving the rest of the dose to 8 p.m. because you insist your symptoms were negligible when you were taking the whole dose at once.

Why would taking Luvox with Seroquel at 10 p.m. not be a good idea? Please go back in the 25 pages of discussion here about that. Let us know what you find.

Yes i know the body jerks.  I still have them. But not as severe.  I'll just let it be.  At least if I do move the dose back it will be closer.

Thanks again.

I have not posted notes but my daily symptoms pretty much remain the same.  Its been difficult to do anything because I'm so exhausted and can't think straight.

My sleep is beyond poor now.  2 hours maybe 3.

Same daily pattern-  dizzyness/disconnect after 8 am 4 mg luvox dose, then tinnitus spikes .

Midafternoon anxiety with fear,  agitation and restlessness.   Happens again in the evening around 6.

8 pm is 5 mg luvox dose.    Tinnitus usual severe by bedtime.

10 pm -  25 mg seroquel.   Fall asleep but don't stay asleep. Wake 2 or so hours later.   Can't fall back to sleep.

I have to sleep with a wedge pillow because I feel off laying down all the way. Also getting body jerks although not as severe.

I am starting to hear things , like slamming doors and booms in my head,  when I am laying in bed trying to sleep.  And I have flashes of light behind my eyes.   I think this is from exhaustion?  And when I am up I cannot tell what is real noise, in my head  or my tinnitus.    I am extremely bothered by and sensitive to noise.

My sleep has never been so poor as in this last month.

Not sure what I can do at this point.   I need sleep so desperately.  Its getting difficult to tell what is from drug changes and what is from lack of sleep.

Hi BFfromNJ,

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having such trouble sleeping, I hope it improves. Do you wear blue light blocking glasses at night and go out into the daylight first thing in the morning?

Do you drink caffeine at all? If you do, probably best to get rid of it altogether? Sugar and processed carbs? It keeps the body ramped up too.

These meds certainly play havoc with our bodies.

Take care, sending hugs🤗

Personally I'd recommend blue-light filtering software, its simpler, free, and adjustable.  Most modern phones have it built in now too, as "night node".

Im all the computer all the time, and many many years back (pre-wd) I started putting f.lux (a popular option) on all my devices I use, and nearly immediately any eye strain/headaches I was getting went away and have never returned since.

I cannot recommend them enough to anyone I meet.  I have all my filters set to a warmth level that is close to the incandescent lighting in my home, so the transition to/from using devices is very smooth and simple.

2014 - 2019, Wellbutrin 150mg | 2019-October day1-14, Wellbutrin 75mg | 0mg since | Crashed three months later synonymous with the rapid paxil taper

@Carmie

hi I've been here 3-4 years,.

Only if you care to read on my situation, but I've been on the board of late because I'm in WD and was told my eye drop [steroids] after surgery could be a factor I'm in WD.

A stupid question to you, if you had a choice of a tiny sleeping meds to take to get at least a couple sleep which one is not a harsh, that you know of.  my withdrawal I'm in is preventing me sleep, while I'm hoping for relief, if you're interesting in any part of my situation I dont mind, I need support at this time. Thanks for hearing me,

  • 3 weeks later...

I probably don't belong here anymore because I feel I've failed.   But I have had successful taper with you all so im not a total loss.

I had a complete break and lost it.  Lack of sleep got to me.   And raging tinnitus.   I had alot of trouble for some reason after the luvox split dosing. I dont know why.  Guess the adverse reactions once it was split showed during.  And my sleep greatly worsened.   I went to hospital.   It was too much on my family and they were scared for me.

They stopped my seroquel, it wasn't working for sleep.    Yes, I know this was real stupid.  I own that.  But I wasn't sleeping with it.  I had risterol temporarily.

Now we are trying to figure out how to restore my sleep.

My luvox was increased back to 25 mg.   Yes, another mistake.   I'll have to stay here for now, even though I know I'm having issues with this med now as well.   They had nothing smaller.

I'm trying my best right now to accept that I made these mistakes and have to live with the consequences.     I am ashamed.  I've really upset things.  I'm working through this.

But,  if anyone has it in their heart to help me id be beyond grateful.

I attempted to reinstate seroquel after being off for 15 days to the 25 mg.  Its been 4 days (2 days at 25, 1 day at 6.5 and 1 day at 25) .  I tried the 6.5 with zero sleep.   During the 15 days I had a terrible time with pgad , insomnia again, disconnection, tinnitus.    I feel it may be working against me now, but also that the withdrawal may have brought the pgad back.   So im afraid if i drop the pgad may worsen. The doctor says to reduce to 12.5 mg.

Just hoping someone can just tell me if I should hold at the 25 sre if it settles or reduce.  I've never reinstated before, so I actually didn't read up about reinstating a small amount till now.

Sorry if this post upsets or angers anyone.   I expect to hear some recriminations.

For me, it's not that I don't want to help, it's that I don't know what I could suggest that might help.  I cannot speak for the other staff.

I do suggest that you keep daily symptoms notes for yourself so that you might be able to see any patterns that occur.  Possibly rate your symptoms so that you can be a bit more objective.  Doing this will help you take control of your own situation, instead of relying on other people, either here or in the medical arena.  It can be overwhelming to do this yourself, but it can be very empowering.  I had to do this myself when my doctor did not connect my increased blood pressure to the doubling of my Pristiq dose, which I eventually connected to serotonin toxicity.

I also suggest that you do a drug interaction check if you haven't already done so.

Drug.com Interactions Checker
Medscape Drug Interaction Checker

Another thing I think you should do is start at the beginning of your topic and read through the whole thing.  Specifically look at the suggestions made by Alto and the suggestions she made to a particular issue.  You might be able to learn more about what to look for with your symptom notes and what changes, if any, you might make to improve things.

This is what you you will be trying to see from your notes:

On 9/28/2016 at 4:49 AM, Altostrata said:

Are your symptoms worse at any particular times of day? A symptom pattern that occurs regularly over several days could mean the symptoms are from withdrawal, other adverse effects of drugs, or something else you do on a daily schedule.

Do you feel better taking 25mg Luvox and whatever else you're taking now, @BfromNJ?

I cannot follow what you've done with Seroquel. You went to the hospital, they stopped it because it wasn't working. Why did you reinstate it? Are you still taking it and Restoril?

The seroquel was reinstated because I had bad insomnia.  No sleep.  I was up for days at a time.   Its not much better now but a few hours.   This is the worst.

I do not feel better taking 25 mg of luvox.  I think its flared my pgad.   I also have a sense a disconnection from around me (very scary and disturbing)  tinnitus severe at times, fear of being alone, constant urinary frequency,  insomnia, blurry vision

Unfortunately I know I've opened a pandoras box.

9/2018- lexapro low dose few days.11/3/2018- zoloft 2 days

11/7/18  - 11/15/18 - Prozac 9 days, from 10 mg for week, to 20

11/16  inpatient put on Lexapro for a few days, Cymbalta, 2 days

11/24-12/8 - gabapentin 100 mg 3xs per day - a very fast taper

1/7 - tbuspar for  three days- blurry vision, jerky eye

1/17/19 - 2/15/19- mirtazapine 15 mg - started taper on 1/30

2/20/19 gabapentin 600 mg. .  12/20-  taper finished

2/20/19 - seroquel 25 mg current - taken  10 pm

2/20/19- luvox (generic) 25 mg.  4/6/19  to 18.75 mg .held  . Started taper again  1/7/21- 15 mg, 2/7/21- 12.5 mg, 3/7/21 -10 mg, 4/1/21- 9 mg, 5/1/21- 8.1 mg, 5/27/21- updose to 10 mg,  6/21-  in patient updose to 50 mg,  6/25/21- reduce to 10 mg (current) .  9/5- split dose 5mg am/5 mg pm.  9/20- 4 mg am/5 mg pm .

9/1/21-  took one dose of vistril 50 mg.

9/1/21-accidental double dose of seroquel- 50 mg

I also suggest that you do a drug interaction check if you haven't already done so.

Did you do this?

Your Luvox dosing has always been a mystery. Please keep daily notes of times o’clock you take your drugs, their dosages, and your symptoms throughout the day.

We need to know how you feel before and after taking each drug, and your symptoms in between. Post 24 hours of notes at a time in this topic, in a simple list format with time o’clock on the left and notation (symptom or drug and dosage) on the right. This can show if your symptoms are adverse effects from one of your drugs.
