I'm sure of that! If you practice self-care enough (floating through awful moments with anxiety and such) and are aware of the windows-wave pattern and don't let the waves bother you too much you will get hold over it!

Basically what you're doing is retraining your limbic system and amygdala to become less sensitive to anxiety by practicing floating through it. And the more you train it the less fear is something problematic.

And in addition to the useful post that ChessieCat suggested: it will always be difficult for other people to fathom mental problems of other people. Especially complex matter such as such extreme anxiety that makes you feel you're not a part of this world and you're not always feeling a connection to your body. For you it's all too real Kronos but the average Joe just cannot understand it.

Some of your friends and family might only see superficial things of you like your appearance and just conclude you look alright. If they could only feel what you are feeling they would know better, but of course they can't.

At times when I felt super awful last year people said that I looked good when I sure as hell didn't feel that way.  Your "internal" situation and the way you come across to others don't always match unfortunately...

Kronos,

Any stressful experience will raise our cortisol levels. Withdrawal is certainly an example of that and many members experience cortisol surges or symptoms of high morning cortisol.

https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/17471-waking-with-panic-or-anxiety-managing-the-morning-cortisol-spike/

There is no medical treatment for raised cortisol levels caused by withdrawal (or any other stress for that matter). Doctors will only treat cortisol increases caused by Cushing’s disease.

Based on that test alone, there is no indication of anything more serious than a natural increase in cortisol, due to the stress your nervous system is experiencing and this is in line with your reported symptoms of anxiety/DP.

Both magnesium and fish oil have been proven in studies to lower cortisol levels and they are the two supplements we suggest here. You may want to try a little of each, one supplement at a time, if you haven’t already.

PLEASE NOTE:  I am not a medical professional.  I can only provide information and make suggestions.

If this is what you are currently experiencing then I do not think that adding the stress of getting a tattoo is a good idea at this time.

Kronos,

We can develop certain patterns of symptoms that can linger for some time. Personally, I tend to notice any symptoms intensifying between around 2pm and 6pm, whilst others notice their worst symptoms in the morning.

I would try not to focus on the why of it, but instead try to ensure that if you tend to notice difficult symptoms around that time every day, you try your best to practice good self care after 8pm, such as avoiding stress at that time and using non-drug coping techniques such as deep breathing,

mindfulness or CBT. This can help make our overall symptom pattern much more tolerable. For example, sometimes when symptoms creep up, I find its best for me to lay down in bed and breathe slowly until it passes.

In regards to your questions about a tattoo and decaf coffee, ultimately nobody knows exactly how you will react. I would say the tattoo due to the pain and overall trauma would be much more risky than trying a decaf coffee and seeing how you react. Sometimes experimenting is the only way to know for sure. If you notice it intensifies symptoms, you can eliminate it going forwards.

I went today to a psychiatrist, and guess what. She told me that she never heard of withdrawal symptoms lasting more than a week, and 9 weeks is a long time for these symptoms. She did blame me i was doing drugs and told my mother that to get me in a psych ward because i got aggitated inside, dizzy, some sort of panic attack, and she told her that i was doing drugs and the pills is not the cause for what is happening.****

Dont listen to this physcitrist ,the blame and stress they put vulnerable people under without tangeble evidence is scandalous.

If pychciatric drugs were so safe then why do they have black box warnings.say this to the phyciatrist next time.you mite need to find a more sympathetic one if all the blame is put on you.

Our quest to feel "normal " and well is valid but it can bite back on us so be careful challenging the psychiatrist  when in a wave .to think these drugs don't  affect us physiologically is ignorant  and idiotic on there part.you will build up a confidence in your own intuition .I couldn't go near any on them at the moment ,ide be shipped away to a hospital with severe symptoms, the insanity of this process is beyond belief .

Take care.

Please see:

Whey protein isolate and protein powder / shakes

If protein shakes cause anxiety or ramps up other symptoms, you could eat high protein meals and get your protein through food until you've recovered from withdrawal.

It's great you're able to exercise during your recovery.
