7:45am.      Good sleep awake. De caf tea

8am.            Walked Georgie 🐕 

8:30am.       8.2mg  Paxil 

9am.            Breakfast. antibiotic. de caf

                     tea

10am.          25mg pregabalin 

 

Home all day.  Preparing and cooking dinner for family. Feeling calm. Lunch st 1pm. Snack at 3pm. De caf tea with both. 

 

4pm.             25mg pregabalin 

5mp.             Gym calm 

6pm.             Antibiotic 

6:15pm.        Met up with friend de caf cof 

7:30pm.        Dinner calm 

8:25pm.        Watching tv calm 

11pm.            Bed 

 

another calm day. Have bad stomach cramps but could be caused by antibiotic.

felt very anxious for about an hour but it faded 

3:30pm.      Snack.           

4pm.          25mg pregabalin 

4pm.           Work anxious but had issue  

                   with staff member 

5pm.          Home De caf tea 

7pm.         Family dinner out Calm

10pm.       Home calm 

10:30pm.  Bed calm 

 

I do have symptoms such as dry eyes blurry vision tinnitus and stomach cramps etc etc but overall things stabilising

8:30am.      Breakfast. Work . De caf tea

10am.         25mg pregabalin 

11am.         Doctors appointment . Calm

12 noon.     With partner. Lunch de caf cof

 

Had a period here for about an hour and half from 2pm. Where intense anxiety cane on. * please refer to note below 

 

4pm.           Home walked Georgie 🐕 Calm 

5pm.           25mg pregabalin 

6:30pm.      Out for dinner with partner .

                    Calm

10:30pm.   Home. Bed. Calm. 

 

*. This period of intense anxiety feels like Akathisia. I can’t stop moving my feet I feel intense anxiety and that feeling of wanting to jump out of my skin . It usually doesn’t last more than an hour or two. I find if I take my mind off it it slowly dissipates. 

It also happens first thing of a morning when I wake up prior to taking Paxil dose. 

Could it be the half life of Paxil . It wearing off this time of day and of a morning and if so what can I do ?

I have included in notes . As I’m unsure whether it is anxiety or Akathisia I write anxious . This is in my notes recorded quite a few times on waking. 

On waking it can be there or just after waking and getting up. Prior to taking morning Paxil dose. 

It can then re appear early afternoon for a couple of hours . Around 1pm . 

The reason I’m not convinced it’s akathesia is that I can get it come on if I feel particularly anxious. Say if I’m meeting a friend or going out for lunch.

* had a period of about 1.5 hours where I felt intense agitation . Needing to move toes and inner body tenseness . That horrible feeling of wanting to burst out my skin. 

It definitely helps if I take my mind of it. it slowly dissipated and didn’t come back for the rest of the day. 

 

I have been finished my antibiotics for two days and I still have very bad stomach cramps.

As we discussed before, this might be the morning cortisol burst, or breakthrough symptoms from the evening pregabalin dose wearing off.

i agree with you and I am definitely  more stable . That’s thanks to you Alto as by recording my daily symptoms I have been able to go through the instability of changing my medicine to giving the time to settle on the dose I am now.

Hi @Altostrata

 

have been to A&E today at a local hospital . Doctor said thinks I have diverticulitis and need to go for further tests arranged  through my own Doctor. I’m going tomorrow. 

Have been to see a consultant this evening concerning my recurrent cystitis. He’s arrangjng for me to have further tests in the next two weeks. Hopefully I’ll soon be sorted with both.

 

Apart  from this I’m stable and have had a decent weekend .  And I hope you have too.

I don't think we can interpret your symptoms while you're being treated for diverticulitis. At least for now, your drug-related condition is stable.

I was wondering if anyone had the same problem I’ve had the last few weeks that I think is due to WD and histamine intolerance that maybe could give me some advice. 

I’ve developed an itchy rash on my tummy and back that seems to be worse of an evening regarding intense scratch/itch. The bumps develop small sores because of the continual scratching . I’m thinking it’s a histamine intolerance but I don’t know. 

Has anyone had the same and if so what helped?

Very interesting to me. The effects this drug have in our GI tract cause these issues. I had a break out of Erythema Multiforme when I was on Paroxetine 8 years ago while taking an antibiotic.

Its essentially full body hives. It was the itchiest thing I’ve ever experienced....I could not stop scratching. I was bedridden for 10 days. It was terrible.  They have gave me steroids and antihistamines, which did nothing. I just let it run it’s course and my body healed.

Mine started on my head. Slowly went down to my core and then out to my legs/arms. Every time it hit a joint I couldn’t bend that joint.

 

I have some pictures actually I’ll see if I can upload them. It won’t let me upload the pictures, they are too big. I’ll try and reformat them when I get home. 

 

Mine came full force in a day or two and then went away slowly over the 10 days.

It's likely you had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic -- you need to have this noted in your medical record -- and it hasn't gone away. You need to talk to your doctor about stopping this allergic reaction.

 

Please note this is a site about tapering off psychiatric drugs, not a support site for general medical issues. You should communicate with your doctor about those concerns.

thank you chose because it certainly is a loooooong journey!!! 

I’m  doing ok considering my fast initial taper in Feb of Paxil followed by too fast tapering of  pregabalin and then my cold turkey for three days from all meds in July. Such a foolish thing to do. 

 Have remained steadfast from July  on 

8mg paxil

50mg pregabalin 

Small amounts 

Staying put until I stabilise however long this takes. 

 

I have many symptoms at the moment and feel I put myself into protracted WD with the messing around of meds in July . 

 

How are you and how is the taper going ? How long have you been in WD and are you stabilising ?

Happy New Year @Altostrata 

I wanted to ask your advice. 
I have remained steadfast for 5 months on

8mg Paxil  taken at 8am  daily and 

2x25mg Pregabalin 25mg at 10am and 25mg taken at 4pm. 
I have not stabilised from jumping off my meds for a few days in July last year. Still very much symptomatic. 
On 20th December I flew with my family  to New York . 5 hour difference from UK . Accommodated with meds by slowly adjusting to take 1.5 hours later (uk time) meaning while in the States I took Paxil at 4:30am each morning their time and pregabalin at 6.30am and 12 30 midday. I was there for two weeks. 
On the second day there I started to have new symptoms appear . This being dizziness a floaty feeling like on a boat and difficulty keeping my balance. Just prior to these new symptoms I had severe muscle cramps headache and slight dizziness. 
my question is had I gone into a wave.and Could this have been caused by moving the time of my medication or was this just coincidence? 
I was also stressed about being unwell while there so this could have contributed.  
 

these symptoms have carried on since my return home and medication resumed to normal times. 
 

is it just a matter of waiting it out to settle down ?
