Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted July 15, 2020 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 15, 2020 Just take your usual dose at the regular time. It takes about 4 days for a dose change to get to full level in the blood and a bit longer for it to register in the brain. You might feel some discomfort over the next few days to a week but hopefully it won't be too bad and thing will settle quickly. Try not to worry about it because you will just add stress into the mix. It's easy to make a mistake. Other members have done it and I've done it myself a few times during my taper. Use your non drug coping techniques to get through any rough days. Even though it is only one dose, it is classed as a "event". You might consider holding for longer this time before making your next reduction. * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted July 15, 2020 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 15, 2020 (edited) It's a good idea to try to put a protocol in place so that it doesn't again. Which will also help to stop you becoming paranoid about your measuring. Longroadhome
Today I am in a window despite inadvertently doubling my dose of Paxil. Done because I was rushing out to work and it was the day to decrease so instead of taking just 2ml (equivalent to 4ml) into the syringe I had 4 in my head so that’s what I did! oh dear fingers crossed it doesn’t come back to bite me .. today symptoms have been very low with little to no anxiety. Got lots done at work and have felt mostly fine A window maybe ? then why is it I go looking and testing myself for symptoms does anyone else do this ? why does it feel weird to feel normal ? the past few days prior to today all symptoms ramped up . No reason I could think of just a wave . 1 Nov 2018 Pregabalin 2x50 mg a day to help with Paxil WD. Longroadhome
@brassmonkey hi Brass hope all ok with you and you are enjoying good health. I have a problem . Last week when decreasing my liquid Paxil dose I inadvertently in a rush double dosed taking 8mg Instead of 4.9mg. that was last Wednesday morning. On Friday I turned over in bed and severe vertigo came on. this has been happening whenever I lay on my back and turn to my side in bed since Friday. I also have Unsteady coordination that came on yesterday . my question is have I sent myself into a wave or destabilised myself ? before this happened I was withdrawal normal no big swings in symptoms. if it is a wave How long will it take to subside And can I do anything to help the process ? thank you Brass 😊 Nov 2018 Pregabalin 2x50 mg a day to help with Paxil WD. Moderator brassmonkey Posted July 21, 2020 Moderator Share Posted July 21, 2020 Hi LRH-- mistakes happen, I think almost every member here has accidentally doubled up a dose. All it does it throw things off for a while, it's hard to say how long, a few days to several weeks. If everything was fine before it happened things should return to the way they were fairly quickly. It may be uncomfortable, but things will settle down, so please don't add secondary panic to the mix. The best thing to do is take things easier than usual, pay attention to your balance to keep from falling when you move around and let it run it's course. 20 years on Paxil starting at 20mg and working up to 40mg. Sept 2011 started 10% every 6 weeks taper (2.5% every week for 4 weeks then hold for 2 additional weeks), currently at 7.9mg. Oct 2011 CTed 15oz vodka a night, to only drinking 2 beers most nights, totally sober Feb 2013. Since I wrote this I have continued to decrease my dose by 10% every 6 weeks (2.5% every week for 4 weeks and then hold for an additional 2 weeks). I added in an extra 6 week hold when I hit 10mg to let things settle out even more. When I hit 3mgpw it became hard to split the drop into 4 parts so I switched to dropping 1mgpw (pill weight) every week for 3 weeks and then holding for another 3 weeks. The 3 + 3 schedule turned out to be too harsh so I cut back to dropping 1mgpw every 4 weeks which is working better. Final Dose 0.016mg. Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017 "It's also important not to become angry, no matter how difficult life is, because you can loose all hope if you can't laugh at yourself and at life in general." Been quite productive over the last ten days or so and now, maybe as a result, am absolutely knackered today. I've just had a two hour nap. Some vague sense of not quite knowing what to do with myself, a bit restless, but nothing major. It's easy to forget when feeling good that the nervous system is still quite fragile. So, am just indulging in being really lazy. Although, I did do a 6k walk this morning. Sending good wishes from London. It's a lovely sunny day here today. Sounds like you’re making great strides forward Sunny thats so good to hear I’m so pleased for you Great day here too just walked Georgie my dog in the woods shes loving life ...!!! Moderator brassmonkey Posted July 29, 2020 Moderator Share Posted July 29, 2020 The oversized dose probably triggered a small wave but now that you are back on the correct dose things should settle down and return to WDnormal, but it could take several weeks. Current dose 0.000mg 04-15-2017 "It's also important not to become angry, no matter how difficult life is, because you can loose all hope if you can't laugh at yourself and at life in general." Feels like more than a wave. Only did this for one dose . However as I am tapering and have been since February could the instability to my system have caused kindling After decreasing then a massive updose even though It was a one off ? I have never been symptom free and started this journey in poop out. new symptoms are as if I have MS acute anxiety Floaty feeling and very unsteady 24/7 When lying down or standing pins and needles and numbness in hands and left arm severe muscle spasms in body especially head and neck making unsteadiness worse burning skin lower arms etc what’s the best thing to do if I have kindled myself? will it settle ? I have remained consistent and stable with my meds since this happened three weeks ago. these symptoms started to appear two days after updose and each day gradually getting worse. thank you Nov 2018 Pregabalin 2x50 mg a day to help with Paxil WD.
