Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted August 20, 2020 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted August 20, 2020 Q: Do you take your dose at the same time every day? If no, then I suggest that you try doing that first before dose splitting. I haven't heard of any members needing to split their Paxil dose. However, according to https://www.drugs.com/pro/paxil.html Quote The mean elimination half-life is approximately 21 hours (CV 32%) after oral dosing of 30 mg tablets of Paxil daily for 30 days. If you are a fast metaboliser then you might experience interdose withdrawal. You could do this by moving 1/2 of the dose by 1 hour later each day (if you take it in the morning). If you find that your sleep starts to be affected I suggest that you move the second dose back 1 hour. If you find that you move the dose by 3 or 4 hours and your symptoms ease then, if it is convenient to continue taking your second dose at that time, you could try leaving it at those dose times for a while. Only make one change at a time. It suggest that you keep daily symptom notes (not required here unless we need to assess the situation) so that you can see how the dose splitting affects your symptoms and sleep. 1 * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment
Administrator Altostrata Posted August 20, 2020 Administrator Share Posted August 20, 2020 How do you know you have interdose withdrawal? To determine interdose withdrawal, we look at your daily symptom pattern. Please keep daily notes of times of day you take your drugs, their dosages, and your symptoms throughout the day. Post 24 hours of notes at a time in this topic, in a simple list format with time of day on the left and notation (symptom or drug and dosage) on the right. This is not medical advice. Longroadhome
Hi @sunnysideup69 Thank you for asking . Not good I’m afraid Don’t know what I’ve done to myself but symptoms getting progressively worse . Prob trying to taper two meds and destabilised . Lyrica such a small dose thought it wasn’t doing anything anyway. I found out it works like a Benzo and from the symptoms I’m getting and checking my diary over this period my guess is it’s that and not the accidental double dose Of Paxil the one day. im holding at my current doses until things settle . Longroadhome
@Altostrata I am currently on 4.8mg Paxil and 25mg pregabalin . Administrator Altostrata Posted September 17, 2020 Administrator Share Posted September 17, 2020 As we discussed, when you taper two drugs at once, it makes it very difficult to interpret your symptom pattern. I have no idea what's going on. Paxil is very difficult to taper on its own. I suppose it would make more sense to take the pregabalin doses 12 hours apart. 25mg pregabalin is not a small dose. I don't know if this will help. You'll probably have to hold a long while to get to a baseline. This is not medical advice. Longroadhome
Hi Erell thank you for your reply at the moment I’m getting lots of symptoms down to destabilising trying to taper both meds . Not a good idea and I’m paying for it since beginning of August . I have severe symptoms some days and bearable symptoms other days. When I am calmer I don’t notice it tying in with taking meds it seems to come randomly. for instance yesterday I felt calm from 1pm onwards meds were taken at 8.30am Paxil And 10am pregabalin regarding Paxil it’s not an issue with the time I take it I was just wondering if changing the time for pregabalin would make a difference to the time I take Paxil . Alto has mentioned about leaving 12 hrs between pregabalin doses and I’m wondering how that looks regarding times? Maybe keep the first dose the same at 10am then start to alter the timing of the second dose to 10pm. At the moment I take it at 4pm so to alter to 10pm would it be a good idea to change by one hour each day going forward ? im going to hold until I even out hope you are having a good day today 😊 Nov 2018 Pregabalin 2x50 mg a day to help with Paxil WD. I take 12.5mg at 10am and 12.5mg at 4pm at the moment . Longroadhome
@Altostrata The half life for Lyrica is 5 to 7 hours So is it ok to take 12 hours apart ? I’m slowly moving it to be 7am morning and 7pm evening And Paxil st 8:30am this all sound ok ? After research on this site I suspect the Lyrica taper has caused my problem and not Paxil because of the nature of the symptoms I am experiencing . I do not want to re instate any but the symptoms seem to be getting worse even though it’s been two months since the reduction. Is it normal to experience more intense muscle spasms and dizziness two months after holding taper? And if so why ? Thanks Alt I do appreciate your support very much even though you’re angry (Hopefully not as angry..) at me for tapering two meds. Nov 2018 Pregabalin 2x50 mg a day to help with Paxil WD. Administrator Altostrata Posted September 22, 2020 Administrator Share Posted September 22, 2020 Most likely, it's mainly Paxil withdrawal. Longroadhome
Hi Alto posting timetable shortly just to say I’m in the process of moving pregabalin times so that was why on that day they were taken close together as from today the times will be 7am. 12.5mg pregabalin 8:30am. 4.8mg. Paxil 7pm. 12.5mg pregabalin do you think it would be ok to move the Paxil from 8:30am to 10am leaving a gap of 3 hours between pregabalin and paxil doses of a morning? From my double dose error I feel worse taking these two drugs. There is no relief. it feels like my body is rejecting them hence the very intense symptoms. Can this happen ? Longroadhome
For the record having these funny turns that make me feel like I’m going to fit reminded me of a few years ago I think about 10 years ago. I wanted to come off Paxil and was on 20mg at the time . My doctor told me to alternate days . One day 20mg the next 10mg and so on . I did this for a few weeks. went to Rome with my hubby. Fist night there the most scary thing happened to me . I started to feel strange can’t describe it. Like I was looking in on myself from the outside. Just so hard to describe I fell to the ground couldn’t move my arms or legs . Husband called for an ambulance . I also felt like I was going to lose consciousness but I didn’t . paramedics came took me to hospital . I recovered but felt really trembly for hours . After tests they could find nothing wrong and I was discharged . I put it down to a severe anxiety attack . But. Now I’m wondering if it was a seizure/fit due to alternating my daily dose of Paxil . After that day I upped my dose back to 20mg every day as the episode brought on anxiety . never happened again . funny always considered myself a good girl . Never did drugs never smoked always against anything that could be addictive Yet all along unbeknown to me I was screwing myself over by taking that little white pill every day ... for years. Still seem to have cycles of waves within the month, almost feels like PMT except I went through menopause four years ago now. But, thankfully, the waves are really pretty mild now and I'm pretty stable. Often in a good mood. Work is okay but tiring and weird at times...we are all segmented off into 'bubbles' which is bizarre... Sorry to read there's not much let up, at the moment. You know it will change, but it's tough to cope with for sure. Really hoping you get some relief sooner rather than later x January 2008 to April 2015 Citalopram 20mg to 5mg, reducing in 50 per cent leaps. Jumped off at 5mg March 2016 used MDMA triggered setback April 2016 Citalopram 10mg October 2016 cut to 5mg, May 2017 cut to 2.5mg May 2018 used MDMA triggered setback June 2018 Citalopram 2.5mg up to 10mg, then back to 5mg July/ August 2018 7.5mg, then 10mg June 2019 updosed to 20mg Citalopram August 2019 cold switch to Venlafaxine 75mg XR Supplements; 1100mg fish oil daily; also 100mg Magnesium Glycinate. Tried Vagifem 10mcg from mid May 2021 to mid June 2021; caused depression, so stopped. Link to comment

Really hoping you get some relief sooner rather than later x Thank you are the bubbles working as in keeping you isolated from others ? it’s almost impossible at nursery. For instance children have to pass through one classroom to get to theirs. though children have their set times to use the playground inevitably children from one area are leaving the playground as others arrive and there’s only one entry/exit. we are giving set times for parents to arrive at the setting but some choose to ignore and totally ignore social distancing rules. It’s a nightmare !! Nov 2018 Pregabalin 2x50 mg a day to help with Paxil WD.
