How to get past inpatient hospital medication records

Recommended Posts

didn't know where else to post this,

does anybody know how i can get access to my past inpatient (mental) hospital records to see the names of meds dates and prescribing dr's from about 1998-2014 approximately?

i was inpatient over a dozen times in that period and only some of the records are available to me, but i want a complete list of every psych med they've put me on and when and dr's names. they told me that some of the records are so "old" that they don't store them in the same buildings on their campus and that some may not be recoverable.

without hiring a lawyer, is there a way for me to get my records?

thx yall!

thx Chessie Cat! 😺

so according to those links, i can't get any (inpatient) hospital records older than 10 years and if i do want the ones that are 10 years old or younger/more recent i will have to pay in the hundreds due to how many pages my records contain AND i cannot get the psychiatrists's notes, just the typed out basic notes that are public record for the insurance etc...

so i'm kinda screwed lol. 🔧 no screw emoji?  well, i can't say that i'm surprised, i was told the basic same thing many years ago when i attempted to retrieve my inpatient and psychiatrists's notes/records on me from 1998 to present. i understand they don't have the room to store all the records for "lifetime members" of the the psychiatric hospitalized patients' club like me, but for the amount of money they charged per day for those institutions, you'd think they could afford the monthly rental on a uhaul storage unit to keep the records safe.  ah the joys of living in the 2000's! c'est la vie.  whatcha gonna do? lol
