I'm sorry you're feeling so bad.  You tapered very fast, and your system is destabilized.  Though you were on the drugs for a relatively short period of time, it was enough to produce withdrawal symptoms.  The symptoms you described in your March 9 post are typical withdrawal symptoms.  These two links will help you understand what you're experiencing.

While these links can be read as discouraging, the ultimate message is hopeful - that you will heal.  Unfortunately, the process generally is long and frustrating.

We don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system.

Please research all supplements first and only add in one at a time and at a low dose in case you do experience problems.

We recommend the use of non-drug techniques to cope with withdrawal.  Please take a look at the subjects in this link and see which you think might be of help to you.

How was your withdrawal and medication?

Hi Red,

Sorry, I only just saw that you asked a question.

This is my second withdrawal attempt, and because I am doing it slowly, it is manageable.

I had to reinstate when my thoughts became too intrusive, but that was at 3 months off my previous taper.

How is your taper going?

Bee

7 months of prescribed polypharmacy in 2015-2016, including several classes of psych meds.

1st attempt at taper was too fast. 2nd attempt is underway.

1 Mar 2018: 37.5 mg paroxetine, 150 mg lamotrigine, 300 mg quetiapine

1 Oct 2020: 30 mg paroxetine, 150 mg lamotrigine, 37.5 mg quetiapine

15 May 2022: 25 mg paroxetine, 150 mg lamotrigine, 0 mg quetiapine

11 Jan 2024: 20 mg paroxetine, 118.75 mg lamotrigine

I'm coming upto 22months of the medication, I have noticed the heat makes me feel really bad  causes panic attacks, throwing up, diarrhoea, feel ill for a few days and also I feel very dehydrated.

Other than that the 22 month mark has been hard to reach nearly 2 years, the symptoms I get now are no motivation, tired most of the time, sleep atleast 10hrs now, intrusive thoughts still just not as bad, unable to work which isnt great,  just slightly anxious now.

Happy I have reached nearly 2 years I am looking forward for the 3 year mark.

Just wish there was an antidepressant that would be easy to take no symptoms just all positive that Increase mood, motivation & helps everyday life.

RM, I received your PM, but am answering here in your thread so all your information is in one place.

Many members do report upticks in symptoms due to heat. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water throughout the day and staying inside in air conditioning, if that's possible.

Heat exhaustion and psychiatric drugs

Body temperature dysregulation: fever, chills, shivering, too hot, too cold, flashes, flushes
