Vonnegutjunky
Please move if not in the right location. I was contacted about a new med that reduces glutamate that is currently being tested for ALS and other disorders. Would a medication such as this be potentially helpful in wd? Also what would the wd effects of a med like this be? Is it as dangerous as a benzo? More dangerous than an ssri? I am just curious as I am now super interested in learning everything I can about neuroscience. https://www.biohavenpharma.com/science-pipeline/glutamate/troriluzole *Currently at 3.3mg off my 10mg pill of Paxil (they actually weigh 12.5mg) so I’m around 7.4 mg *No other supplements or vitamins *Taper schedule in the pdf Blank.pdf https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-5vShtJtwAOGA30OxIP87steLmMdFzD29F0fzAPD564
Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted May 31, 2019 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted May 31, 2019 (edited) Did a google search for drug to reduce glutamate and found this Published online 2013 Aug 7.: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3747027/ To me it seems like the chemical imbalance myth once again. Vonnegutjunky
I would only consider it short term to possibly counteract wd and to help me get off this damn debilitating paxil. And becuse it has low effect on liver function, definitely not as a substitute to treat depression or anything. I am currently very limited in meds I can take due to liver.. I have Benzos to help with wd, but what I'd something like.this were easier and safer to help taper off meds? Including benzos? Just thinking out loud. *Currently at 3.3mg off my 10mg pill of Paxil (they actually weigh 12.5mg) so I’m around 7.4 mg *No other supplements or vitamins *Taper schedule in the pdf Blank.pdf https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-5vShtJtwAOGA30OxIP87steLmMdFzD29F0fzAPD564
