Moderator Emeritus Sassenach Posted September 17, 2019 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 17, 2019 (edited) Hello Cloud I am very short of time. From tomorrow start taking only one quarter of a pill not a half. It is very important you take it every day at the same time. The intention is for you to take this dose for only a week and then stop altogether. Will speak tommorow, if you are unsure leave a message on here and I will answer in the morning. Moderator Emeritus Sassenach Posted September 19, 2019 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 19, 2019 Ok Cloud Too big a time change. You have only a few days to go before you are off these meds. Better to keep same times and sleep when you feel you need it. You can still switch off phone an hour before amd ensure your room is dark. If you continue to have sleep issues we can discuss magnesium but you are young and presumably healthy. If you have a reasonably good diet you should not need supplements. Try and relax before bed and sleep well. I have gone a few times and they always poo-poohed what I told them about withdrawal and said I had, I don't remember, but like adrenal fatigue or whatever different things they can come up with, and suggested various supplements that cost lots of money. Since I had already lost 20 years of my life to psych drugs and withdrawal I was confident enough about what the problem was by then so I didn't buy into it. Anyway just be aware they may say all kinds of things, they are not really any more likely than any other doctor to have a clue about psych drug withdrawal. Started on Prozac and Xanax in 1992 for PTSD after an assault. One drug led to more, the usual story. Got sicker and sicker, but believed I needed the drugs for my "underlying disease". Long story...lost everything. Life savings, home, physical and mental health, relationships, friendships, ability to work, everything. Amitryptiline, Prozac, bupropion, buspirone, flurazepam, diazepam, alprazolam, Paxil, citalopram, lamotrigine, gabapentin...probably more I've forgotten. Started multidrug taper in Feb 2010. Doing a very slow microtaper, down to low doses now and feeling SO much better, getting my old personality and my brain back! Able to work full time, have a full social life, and cope with stress better than ever. Not perfect, but much better. After 23 lost years. Big Pharma has a lot to answer for. And "medicine for profit" is just not a great idea.
