Administrator Altostrata Posted September 22, 2019 Administrator Share Posted September 22, 2019 Hello, cloud. If sleep has become a problem for you, I have to be honest -- you have terrible sleep habits. Your sleep system is based on very regular patterns, fundamentally sunrise to sunset. When you stay up looking at a phone or computer until 2 a.m., you are confusing your sleep pattern with bright light at the time it wants darkness to sleep. If I were you, I'd stop using phone or computer by 9 p.m., take 1/4 tablet mirtazapine at 10 or 11 p.m., and go to bed by 11 p.m. or midnight. Get up at the same time each morning, no later than 9 a.m. Keeping a regular schedule will repair your sleep cycle, which may make you feel better overall. Let us know how you're doing. After a week, you'll probably be able to stop 1/4 tablet mirtazapine. Do not skip doses, taking it inconsistently can make problems. You should get coaching from a therapist to manage your tendencies to worry. As you're so young, if you persist in this habit, it could get a lot worse. It's better for you to learn to manage it now than to become someone dependent on psychiatric drugs. This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner. Moderator Emeritus Rhiannon Posted September 26, 2019 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted September 26, 2019 It may be a little bumpy like this for a while. It's not going to last forever. So try hard to do all the right things to regulate your sleep and take good and gentle care of your body. Even then there will be some bumps. It will pass and you will get to be young again, I promise! 🙂 Started on Prozac and Xanax in 1992 for PTSD after an assault. One drug led to more, the usual story. Got sicker and sicker, but believed I needed the drugs for my "underlying disease". Long story...lost everything. Life savings, home, physical and mental health, relationships, friendships, ability to work, everything. Amitryptiline, Prozac, bupropion, buspirone, flurazepam, diazepam, alprazolam, Paxil, citalopram, lamotrigine, gabapentin...probably more I've forgotten. Started multidrug taper in Feb 2010. Doing a very slow microtaper, down to low doses now and feeling SO much better, getting my old personality and my brain back! Able to work full time, have a full social life, and cope with stress better than ever. Not perfect, but much better. After 23 lost years. Big Pharma has a lot to answer for. And "medicine for profit" is just not a great idea.
