It's going to be general.  I'm upset cause I always lose even more hair after surgery, and I am really bald now. I bought a wig last week and am getting ready to start wearing it daily. Not something I ever predicted would happen at age 27!

 

I am feeling the lowest I've ever felt today. In part cause of all the surgery but also I keep flip flopping back to "was life on a full dose of lexapro better than this?" I don't know and can't think clearly now so I'm not going to tinker with anything. I know this past week I've been depressed and gotten no happiness from anything. The future seems so bleak whatwith this surgery, daily pain, work treating me badly, losing my hair, withdrawal. And right now I cant eat any solid foods. What a horrible time for withdrawal. I wish there was some antidote that could at least alleviate the mental suffering. The physical suffering I know I can power though and that surgery will help it.

 

How I'm feeling now is I wish I could quit my job, withdraw from society, and go home and live with my parents again til I feel better/hair grows back. That's not possible though.

 

I don't know how to be optimistic right now. Just very sad. I'm sorry to be so negative.

You will get through this Flower and hair grows back unless you're 68 and bald like me🤣

It is overwhelming at the moment but you are young and will fight back.

It is difficult to feel hope or to be positive but when at the bottom the only way is up.

 

Keep in touch between now and the op.we can at least help by listening.

I somehow missed your well wishes on Dec 25th but I'm touched you remembered me! Thank you.

 

Everything went well and there have been no ill side effects from the anesthesia so far!

 

Right now I'm doing pretty good! But I'm at my parent's house for recovery and also not working, so there are no sources of stress or loneliness right now. 😀

And as a side note, I have started losing the remainder of my hair. I have my wig and am practicing styling it!

So happy to hear the operation went well

 

Even better that you are feeling ok.

I understand how you feel about losing your hair but think of it this way.

You still have withdrawal and have been through a major operation.

Your body needs time to settle down.

It would be good if you feel up to completing a daily diary to post, this would enable us to keep an eye on how you are moving along after the op.

I think there is a real chance that you will improve more quickly now but would like to ensure that the drugs are working as they should to help you recover.

9 am: woke up

The rest of the day I stayed in the car while mum ran errands and I went to see my gram in the nursing home. Only thing I noticed today was an ability to enjoy music more, express healthy sadness over my gram's condition and nostalgia, and some optimism over the future

*Meditated

*Ate well

11 pm: took liquid zinc, felt pleasantly sleepy

 

1/7/19

12 am: fell asleep

10 am: woke up, felt rested

Took after eating: gentle iron, magnesium glycinate, zinc, coq10

1 pm: *had a trigger from work, began feeling 7/10 anxiety

1 pm - 8 pm: 7/10 anxiety continues, rumination

8 pm: 2/10 anxiety, distracted myself with family time and tv shows

11 pm: fell asleep

 

1/8

8 am: woke up, anxiety 4/10

*Have to leave parents today to go back home by myself for awhile

Did not expect you to be so improved after less than two weeks.

Remember you are healing physically as well as mentally.

Hopefully physically will steady and glitch free.

Mentally you may still have these to deal with,

You may need to live up to your screenname but you are going to get better.
