Has anyone found a link to their official documentation?

Medication before problems: Took Paxil 60-100mg from 2003 to 2014 for OCD.
1) Last pill taken November 2014, horrendous withdrawal started six weeks later.

2) Re-instated successfully @ 20mg May 2015, but accompanied by severe anhedonia, loss of emotion, apathy, and fatigue

3) Switched to Prozac, Viibyrd, Zoloft, Nefazadone, Cymbalta, Nardil in attempt at abating WD symptoms while not re-introducing anhedonia. Each one either failed to relieve WD or brought back anhedonia. So re-stabilized on Paxil at 15mg

4) Tapered down to 7.5mg as of October 2016. More energy, anhedonia/loss of emotions remains apart from short windows.

5) May 2017 - down to 3.5mg of Paxil (no other meds)
6) Early 2018 - added 8mg of Prozac
7) January 2019 - down to 1.05 Paxil / 5mg Prozac and continuing

8) October 2019 - down to 0.2mg Paxil / 3mg Prozac

9) November 2019 - down to 0.1mg Paxil / 3mg Prozac

10) March 2020 - done with Paxil, 2.5mg Prozac

11) April 2021 - 0.03mg Prozac

Another set of draft guidance is due to be published by NICE and be put out for consultation in October 2019, with the final guidance scheduled for introduction in February 2020.

NICE said it welcomed the position statement from the RCPsych and added: “Ensuring patients can safely discontinue using antidepressants, when they are no longer clinically required, is a topic which requires careful investigation because there is limited high-quality data in this area.

The Daily Mail, whilst fairly unlikely to outright make up news, is very fond of the hyperbole.  My feeling is that they've seen the consultation and jumped the gun. It is good news though. Official aknowledgement means more information, resources and acknowledgement. If they do set up a help line for example it'll be invaluable in collecting hard data on the scale of the problem.  Its far from over yet though, we just have to hope vested interests don't try to blind side them.

Citalopram. Briefly early twenties, no ill effects seemingly. Don't remember dose.

Sertraline on and off for ten years.  I was ignorant and started and stopped frequently. Doses of 50, 75 and 100. I can not recall/did not record dates prior to 2018.

JANUARY 2018: Last period of use was was 150mg of sertraline on 14/01/18  (which triggered extreme depression and anxiety that never settled, amongst other symptoms). I then tapered to 100mg in March (15/03/18), then down to 75mg in April(01/04/18) , 50mg later (11/04/18) 25mg in May  (16/05/18),  and was at 0mg in June (02/06/18).

Mirtazapine 15mg 01/08/18- 02/10/18, 15mg (6 weeks at 15mg the two week taper). - caused deeply unpleasant waves of extreme anxiety, depression, zombie state and mania.

Still on 40mg of Propranolol twice a day since April 2018. Supplements: Fish oil, Magnesium, Vit B6

We could have told them that. :)

From the article:

Some 1.8million are at risk of severe symptoms and for 1.7million – 25 per cent of patients taking the drugs – the withdrawal effects last at least three months.

As always, a disappointingly short estimated period, though "at least" does cover much longer periods. At least one of the comments took exception to that, also, and said it could be longer. Still, it's progress from "side effects" (of coming off) were 'usually mild and self-limiting' and would last no more than a week.

I found the guideline, will post it later when back at my computer. It talks about longer and more severe withdrawal. The tapering section is (still? not yet updated?) appalling - it recommends a four week taper. Hopefully that will be changed too.
