help me guys tell me there is a way out

There definitely is a way out Ramona. I was on benzos for three years, I had trouble on them too, and managed to get off them safely, by tapering and I have recovered a ton, no more akathisia.  Don't lose hope!

Hi Ramona, I used the Ashton method to taper off benzos.  While at that time it was advised to stick to the method as it read, I think it may have been a bit too fast for me.  It took about eight months for me to taper, after being on three years.  Withdrawal went far better than I expected too.  Akathisia was gone when I got off benzos and then later tapered off Propranolol which I had been on too.

Hi Ramona,

I'm so sorry about your heart issue from the Propranolol.  Are you still having the same problem?  And sorry you aren't able to sleep. You have been put through a lot from the sounds of things.  I feel so bad for you.

I looked for your intro thread, but can't seem to find it..Are you able to bump it up?  It would probably be a good idea so the conversation can continue there and so as to keep the info more in one place.  :)

Also about what to do, I think before proceeding it would be a good idea to ask a mod for their input.  I am not personally sure what to do about Valium, if you should reinstate or not, as I didn't have to reinstate a benzo myself. So am not sure of the risks involved in doing that.  I really don't want to give you the wrong advice. Also they will likely need answers to certain questions, and definitely you will need to tell them about the Propranolol having caused heart issues as I'm not sure how that affects what to do.
