Mentor mstimc Posted April 27, 2020 Mentor Share Posted April 27, 2020 Snorky. I'm not trying to give you a hard time or make you feel bad. You need to treat your catastrophic thinking with the same concern you devote to your symptoms. They are linked and one will not improve unless you work on the other, too. Believe me; when I was caught in that trap, I'd move from one physical ailment to another until I realized that I, either consciously or subconsciously needed for something to be wrong with me. It was almost like I was having an internal dialogue; "Okay, I got rid of the chest pains; what can I find next?". There just had to be a reason for my physical sensations. Except there wasn't. It was withdrawal and anxiety/OCD. I encourage you to give that some thought as you make decisions about your recovery. 2 Tim C Started Paxil for GAD in 1999 Unsuccessful taper attempt in 2006 Paxilprogress helped with a successful taper completed in 2009 Using therapy and CBT to manage my anxiety Link to comment
