Can i take desmodium plant to protect the liver ?

I'm not familiar with this remedy, but I did a quick search of the site and found desmodium mentioned a few times:

Search - desmodium

If you try it, use only a very small amount in case you have a reaction.

If this is being used for a liver detox, please note we don't recommend liver detoxes until you're healed from withdrawal, as it can cause problems with a destabilized nervous system.

Bonjour Lina,

( translation in English during stabilisation process, we all go through ups and downs : a return of symptoms doesn't mean a worsening of your situation, but simply that your CNS is doing some repair work and adjustments.

I know how hard it is to believe that our CNS is healing while being assaulted by waves of symptoms, yet it seems that it is the case.

Moreover, it is so difficult to believe it so we often make the mistake to panic and to make changes to quickly feel better. Unfortunately, this behaviour often lead to more destabilisation , the re are no "comfort dose" or "miraculous dose" : keeping everything stable seems to be the better option (same hour and same dose everyday).

Stabilisation process can take time, and no one can predict a duration : best is to use this time to pratice and find methods to cope symptoms without new meds or new changes.

Here is some topics from this site that I find very interesting and may help you to understand the process : )

Traveling can cause upticks in symptoms. Also, the fear and worry before traveling can also make us more anxious.

Please continue holding until after the holidays. Once you're back home and rested, that will be the time to taper your drug.

Also, please be careful and avoid sweets, alcohol, and caffeine. Holiday foods and drinks can be very tempting, but it's best to keep your diet as clean as possible so you'll feel up to tapering once you're back home.

Lina, this is quite normal in WD. I second @Shep's comment. I actually get really anxious now just making a short train journey of an hour or so back to see parents.

I too used to feel so easy with travelling. Its WD and it will get better with time.

Lina, I added some drug information to your signature. Shep and I are in the US and not familiar with Tranxene and Tercian.

It will be some months before you are stable enough to taper again. Please be patient. You may have waves of symptoms. That is "normal" for the process.

Please continue to take 15mg clorazepate at the same time each day, 8:30 p.m. and post your daily notes.

This is not medical advice. Discuss any decisions about your medical care with a knowledgeable medical practitioner.

@Altostrata thanks, when i feel stable, a wave is coming putting everything down again, I don't take any meds to face it as I used to. I don't take anymore tercian. Some times I feel i will never be able to taper clorazepate. I can't work ( i used to write stories, it make me feel anxious now)

woke up a 4.5 pm  in a wave. Slept only 6 h. Anxiety3/10, nausea5/10, headhach, tinnitus 8/10, gastric pain 5/10, body burn, head burn, fear, depression

what make me feel better: crying, deep breath, being alone to handle that. Tape right and left with my hands on my shoulders, reading this forum, some beautiful windows !

what make me feel worst: hope less, guilt about what I did, about my family. Have to care about others while I feel so bad.

bad thaughts. Thinking about the future ( next minute, next hour, next day, next month...) looking back also.

sometimes with so many up and down, It looks like a bipolar type. If I see a doctor now, he will tell me that I am...

I feel like a baby learning life so insecured without my mum...while I'm not a baby anymore and I am a mum.

Very bad wave this morning, Calling for the next window to come...

How do we know when it is the end of cold turkey and somehow it get into withdrawal ?

I tapered to fast the ecsitalopram 8 months ago and did a real CT ( couldn't finish my phrases, brain zap, 3 months later those symptomes desepeared then began the others that are still here)

I think that before I tapered to fast ecsitalopram, I was on withdrawal since a long time ago but still taking my pills.

I used to think that all my symptomes were sides effects , now I know it was a mix.

Hello,

yesterday was one of the worst day of my life. It remembered me what I went throught 3 weeks ago and braught me into a psychitric clinic. Had several panics attacs, more and more hard to handle, tried to stand on my usual meds until 8.5pm. I took clorazepate 15mg as usual. Thought I made it and that with this med it will stop, but no. I felt so tired, I should have go to sleep, but it was christmas evening...at 9pm, I couldn't take it anymore so i Had to go to bed ( had slept only 5 hours the last night and couldn't sleep during the day without  feeling huge anxiety. I also couldn't eat. As it used to be 3 weeks ago, never ending )

Then panics attacks increased into hell. I had to take tercian and more clorazepate to cut the spiral.

It just put me into bad sleep, i awake every half hour during all nigth with huge  anxiety crises. Took deep breath then the meds effects put me back into sleep again. Until 8.5 am.

This is a bad news, cause I didn't want to take back tercian either to increase clorazepate. But i did what i had to to cut this very bad spiral and sleep even a little, even badly. I didn't want to return to psychiatric emergency again.

I'm asking myself if the cause is the recently decreased of clorazepate ? Either there is psychologics causes as the trip and emotions for christmas.

This is my journal

It's important to take your drugs on the same schedule every day. This will reveal your daily symptom pattern. When you take drugs at odd times, it scrambles your symptom pattern. We can't tell what drugs are causing what.

What happens after you take clorazepate at night?

Please stop taking Tercian at random times. It has a half-life of 10 hours. It is possible you are getting rebound anxiety from it when it wears off.

@Altostratahi, thanks for your support !

I'm trying to take my drugs on the same schedule. I have also to find a balance and avoid the bad circle of panic attacks.

yesterday, i had only one panic attack stopped with  clorazepate. It put the anxiety in a lower state. So it doesn't come into panic attack. It doesn't stop anxiety. It relax my body. Clorazepate is a muscles relaxing drug also.

tercian stun me but doesn't put the anxiety lower. I didn't take it last night. It is just stunning me when panic attacks are at the higher grade.

i think my body wants clorazepate because of the relaxing effect. When I have panic attack, my muscles  are highly tensed, i feel like my all body  is burning.

Last night, had insomnia with high anxiety and a start of panic attack ( body burning sensation, muscles tensed ) did breath exercices, walked but i get wirth so i took 5 mg of clorazepate and did breath exercices again, it relaxed my body.  2 hours later, i was still awake cause I knew that if i would have slept just after taking it, Taking it would have been worthless and i  would have panic attack again. I don't know why.

when i finally slept, I woke up every hour with anxiety until 8 am. Then fall asleep again after  breathing exercices.I feel now exhausted with slight anxiety.

So to answer your question clorazepate is a powerfull muscles relaxing drug.

i can't take magnesium because i don't digest it, i know it could help, i 've tried every kind of magnesium...didn't work.

i wanted to know when do we know that is not cold turkey any more and that's withdrawal time ?

Thanks for your reply have  a good day

Hi @Lina1001

I leave you under the advice of Altostrata and Shep. However: it may be better to stabilize yourself with clorazepate. You have varied your doses of benzo a lot, you have had Valium in the middle, because the titration of clorazepate can possibly be irritating for the digestive system. (not for everyone). The doctors also told you if I remember that you had to change benzo because clorazepate seemed to no longer act on you: strange point of view ... I will be looking for information on clorazepate irritation if it may be helpful. It was quickly assumed that you did not tolerate Valium, while you had W / D from escitalopram at the same time. It was difficult to know I was thinking in such a short time if your symptoms were due to Valium. Many changes of benzo have been advised at the same time as your abrupt withdrawal from antidepressant. As we now know unfortunately, very hard on the nervous system.   Clorazepate is a long half-life. 3 doses a day may be too much. Could an increase in clorazepate but with fixed schedules help you to stabilize and perhaps not take Tercian anymore?

Very important: in any case I am not empowered to give you advice.

@Shep the most specialized person in benzo. It would be wise to follow her advice and that of Altostrata.

For magnesium: I can't stand it either. However, I wanted to show you an interesting topic on magnesium. It can also be used externally but you have to be very careful.   I made two baths with Epsom salt and I enjoyed them. You can look on the last page of this topic my question and the advice I was given. In any case, I don't recommend you try it without asking the staff for advice here.

Hi @Vegalia

thanks for all your contribution. You,re right 3 doses a day seems too much. I didn't take anything this morning and I'm "ok"

for magnesium, it could be good, makes me remember a bath with seeweeds that made me feel great and relax, i' ll try epsom .

For benzo, i just need to find the right dose to be taken at the right time, every day the same. may be taking twice a day.., i don't know... i looking forword to be stable and start tapering clorazepate. But I'm also scarred about clorazepate titration for my gastric system.. thanks for your reserches....🥰

But, I think it will take a long time since i've cold turkeyed 9 months ago once and after a reinstatment of ecsitalopram, I've cold turkeyed a second time 5 months ago...

I know this is a bad time in my life. I'm healing . But it's very difficult with my child I can't take care of as I would like to.

Fortunaltly, my husband is a great dad. This is hurting me so bad and making me more anxious. I have to work on that bad pattern of thaughts... hard work

I bought  in kindle the  Claire's weekes book. It helps.... and make me practice my english 🧐

Love and care

You have post-acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS). Symptoms typically come in intense waves. Please try to stay calm and wait them out.

What happens after you take clorazepate at night? Do you immediately fall asleep?

8 hours ago, Lina1001 said:

@Altostrata also, i'm working on a new schedule for clorazepate. I will try to take it three times a day instead of all in one take at 8 pm... may be it will help me to stable before tapering it, what do you think of that ?

You might take it twice a day, with doses 12 hours apart: 5mg in the morning, 10mg at night.

I'm exausted. High anxiety during the all day with up and down.

Clorazepate calm me down a bit when I can't helpmyself anymore and I'm exausted.

(1) It's very important to take your drugs at the same time and dose each day. So you'll need to decide how much of each of these drugs you need to be comfortable (not symptom free, but comfortable) and then get on a regular schedule. The off-and-on use of tercian and the irregular dosing of clorazepate is likely causing some of your symptoms.

Bonjour Lina,

I've quoted Shep's remark because I think it is essential : it is primary that you take the same dose at same hours everyday.

Only this stability will allow your CNS to reach homestasy, which means regulation. Every time you make a change, your CNS has to deal with new informations, and as soon as CNS is making adaptations, you send him new informations : your CNS never really has the time to make his stabilisation and regulation work.

But stabilisation take time and in the meantime you suffer from symptoms that feels unbearable : so what can you do?

First, know that you can bear these symptoms : you brain is making you believe in high danger, but this danger is not real.

When I arrived on SA, I was living in constant terror, unbearable, and if I could fall assleep it was only to wake up one hour later shaking and highly anxious.

But it passed, and today I make sweet nights of 8hours. It will pass for you too.

So, what can we do while we are waiting for better days? Temptation is huge, when symptoms intensity is too high, to find a quick relief with more meds. But it won't help our CNS to heal on the long term.

All we can do is to use pratices and tools to go through the day, distract ourselves ( meditation, yoga, walks in fresh air, puzzles, ...).

Some days, all we will be able to do is to make sure that we will safely go through the day, and it is perfectly fine, because other days will come and we will be able to do more, even smiling and laughing :)

Your CNS knows what he has to do, he knows how to heal : our job is to letting him enough time to make all the repair work he has to do.)

Salut Lina,

--> Tout est possible !

courage Lina.

Je t'embrasse.

Vega

Hi Lina,   We are somewhat in a similar situation. Me these are rather physical symptoms now but it affects my life and my morale. I also worry with my doctor who no longer wants to prescribe Escitalopram, living with my spouse, finding a way to continue not going to work while maintaining my salary, I don't know how long I will get there. We don't have enough money if I only have half the salary. I am afraid that it will last a very long time because we cannot know ....

Il try to chase these thoughts and live day by day saying to myself: another day of passing. I do acceptance work on the fact that I cannot have children: endometriosis and then medication. I do a job to blame myself: in relation to my mistakes because I did not want to do brutal withdrawal and I listened to what I was told and not what I thought ... I try to blame with my spouse too.

Every day: I try to take advantage if I have good little moments, even short ones. Each evening I take a few minutes to think about what I have had during the day, even if it may seem nothing to others.

But: some also have improvements after a shorter time than years and I hang on to that. I have had testimonies from people who have gone through hell and are getting better. I also think of the symptoms that I no longer have or that are reduced, even if I have worse, because I want to think that it is a sign of recovery.

I have a personal story to share too: My grandmother suffered from depression for 5 years! After all of his children are gone. She has not spoken for years. I don't think she took any medication, however. My grandfather was not always very understanding. this happened before I was born. As I knew my grandmother, this was unthinkable: joie de vivre, she liked to laugh, talk, very open-minded and funny. With my grandfather they had found an unconditional mutual love.   I often think of the story of these two angels. Extraordinary people. -> Anything is possible!

I also see Erell's emotional progress. Of course it remains difficult but as she explained it is still better.   There is also a book that I was advised, I did not buy it but read a part on the Web. I'm looking for that.

Courage! One day you can get better. What is happening to you is not your fault.   I also know that you are resourceful. The moments of discouragement are, I think, normal: try to accept, cry if you need to cry, I don't manage to do this too much but I hope one day. Are you going to continue the EMDR? courage Lina.   I kiss you.   Vega
