The last two days I’ve taken 200 mg vitamin C. In the evenings i’ll take magnesium citrate approximately 25 mg. Have only been taking that though for the last 3 to 4 days. Was taking omega 3 on and off. I’ve been nauseous probably since November 1 and dizzy, as I am today. Something I have been taking more on a regular basis is probiotic pills or eating yogurt though I haven’t today. In November I would take a vitamin B12, garlic and then I stopped taking it for fear that it might be causing me to become nauseous. I tense up a lot and have had a lot of stress in the past but Since I retired I have noticed some improvement. Otherwise I take Gaviscon with my meals because of the heartburn or stomach upset. Thought maybe the nausea and dizziness was from taking mirtazapine or withdrawls from Pristiq. Because of the nausea I don’t have much of an appetite through the day but around 10 o’clock at night I could eat the back side off a horse. Lol Im taking the Mirtazapine around 8:00 or 8:30 pm: I seem to perk up after 3 or 4 pm. Moderator manymoretodays Posted January 7, 2020 Moderator Share Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) Hi Pens, And sorry to hear about the upper respiratory infection. I'd stay off the guaifenesin, if I were you. In addition, to what Shep kindly offered, you might try a humidifier, or even a nice warm misty shower area. Looks like you are on day 6, of the kind of cautious, low dose updose that sometimes can be helpful with the WD symptoms. And yes, good pickup that the mirtazapine has the histamine effects, like so many of the drugs we see here. We are going for just a slight mitigation of the WD symptoms, with this updose, not full recovery. I'm thinking that you caught something viral, unfortunate, but common during the winter months. It's up to you, tomorrow being 7 days with the 0.1 mg updose, as far as going up to perhaps 2.0 mg for your total nightly dose. And again, keep notes, for self and us to guide you. You could defer a further updose too, until this cold or flu resolves. Generally 10- 14 days on that.......resolution of these, often viral things, that hit in the winter months. It doesn't look like you have suffered more symptoms from the mini updose, to me. What do you think? No crime, to sit on a low dose, small updose, for often several months, before cautiously beginning a taper again. And often it's helpful. Hang on in there now Pens. I think you are being very brave and making some good progress. Love, peace, healing, and growth, mmt *** and thank you Pens for the wikipedia link on using an oral syringe. I added it here: https://www.survivingantidepressants.org/topic/235-using-an-oral-syringe-and-other-tapering-techniques/ in the first post. Very helpful and may benefit other members. Heart insert. Why did you decide in early December to taper mirtazapine morning, my sleep pattern hasn't been very good, I know you suggested not to take any gravel but I do take one to help me get to sleep. l have had a cold so that threw things off a bit. I get approximately 5 to 6 hours of sleep before when I was on Pristiq I was getting 3 hours. I didn't find this site until later in November and didn't know about tapering. By that time I had dropped from 7.5 to 3.75 to 1.8 in a short period of time. then when I found this site that's when I realized I should have been tapering. I probably wouldn't have been able to taper the Pristiq 50mg because of the time release factor. I guess that's why the psychiatrist put me on mirtazapine and lorazepam and then told me to come off of them however I wanted to. Hi Pens I think those of us who've been through it have an obligation to pay it forward to the ones who are still working toward recovery. What amazes me (and encouraged me when I was in WD) is that no matter how dark things are, people do achieve recovery. I've shared stories with people who thought they were stuck forever and then they get that first window and start the road to recovery. You can make it!
