Hey again Pens,

On the oral thrush, I'm seeing saltwater rinses and swishes in the mouth may help.

And have you let your doctor know?  They may want you to do some topical nystatin to help clear it up.  That's what we used to use in babies who had it.

Are you able to eat without too much discomfort?

Oh Pens, I can not wait until this all is just history!  What a pain!

Hi, manymoretodays, the rubbing alcohol was for sore muscles in my neck.

, have you tried any magnesium yet

I’ve tried a small amount orally but at the moment I seem to be very sensitive to everything. The itchy ness is allergy related. So I’m worried about trying anything new. I think I’m allergic to sulfites and the surgeon thought maybe there might have been some in the preservatives in the pred forte, so it was a very difficult month. But I’m glad it’s done. I’ll try the magnesium bath.

Hey, the Epsom salt bath may help better than rubbing alcohol, if you aren't sensitive to it, and you can relax your neck into the water.

Another great help might be a nice heated neck wrap.  I have a longer rectangular bag filled with rice, that I can then microwave to warm it up, and then drape over my shoulders and back of my neck.  I used it a fair amount early on, in WD.  Had the same kind of tense neck pain and stiffness.

And, if I do ROM exercises, it seems to dissipate completely.  I forget often to do them, neck rotations and stuff, unless I go swim laps or go to Yoga or something.  So those might help too.   I just do 5 chin to chest and back, and then 5 to each side, and then look up and back for 5, and then do a couple circle rotations.  It sure has helped.

It’s sure worth a try! I didn’t like the idea of using rubbing alcohol anyway. Will give that a try. May I ask you a question? I know that you don’t know how long it takes to taper but are my symptoms normal for this length of time,? I don’t feel like I’m progressing at all. Or is that because I tapered too quickly at the start. I seem to be spending a lot of my time on the couch trying to recover. My husband keeps wanting me to just quit. I think he’s getting frustrated. Guess the surgery probably sent me back some as well.

@manymoretodaysI’m currently taking Nystatin for thrush and read where nystatin can cause Candida die off which in turn adds to the anxiety and depression. Some people say they are taking gaba or amino acids. What are your thoughts. Struggling to get thru the day. Took a probiotic. The steroid I took for my eye probably weakened my adrenal glands as well. 😕I’m having trouble sleeping and am so tempted to take small amount of Clonazepam just to get a nights rest. Melatonin doesn’t work for me and magnesium upsets my stomach.

Oh Pens,

I wouldn't get back on the add on, and add in merry go round again, if I were you.

You've got WD going on.  And you are pretty sensitive to substances, to boot.

We do have topics on aminos and gaba, if you want to search.

I'm only guessing, but there are probably other options to deal with Candida die off.  That's not my forte'.

It can get expensive trying everything under the sun and also it's so often in vain.  You've got the allergies too.

Sometimes, instead of helping, too much just makes it worse.  That was my experience.

I spied a couple of nights with longer sleep stretches.

And sheesh, do you have a drug arsenal at home?  B)

If it was me, I wouldn't.  🥴

Nice post from GiaK a few days ago:  Food: healing diets and protocols(finding one's way through the maze)

I would so much rather see you find non-drug coping that helps now.  I know it seems like a long haul.....and it is, sometimes......but you're on the cusp of a nice window now, with that surgery behind you.

If you have a really good case for trying something new, then I am open to hearing more about it.  "Some people say" .......I mean I for one, would want to know where "they" are coming from, with their experiences, and own histories, etc. before jumping on their bandwagon, so to speak.

It’s So good to talk to someone who has been there and done that. I got five hours sleep last night until a skunk showed up-under my window. I,ll try to keep things simple. I did get some Nyastatin For the thrush and I see the naturalpath tomorrow. I think if I work on my stomach issues the anxiety and depression will heal and I have noticed that my stomach has settled quite a bit since I’ve avoided high histamine food and I am taking control of the yeast infection. Sorry to bother you with the off-topic subject but you’re so good with advice that I feel better hearing from you. I read some of the links. Each time I learn more and more how interconnected our body functions are. We really are walking miracles. Will do my best to heed your advice and thank you for getting back to me. Much appreciated. The reason I have so many prescriptions at hand is because my doctor likes to push them on me. He’s a good soul I think he honestly cares but doesn’t know what to do with me. Have a good day!💐I edited my profile to make it a bit more personal.

Was it here on your thread?  I did find this one with a quick search from my main browser:  Making a liquid from "The Withdrawal Project"  Inner Compass.org:

https://withdrawal.theinnercompass.org/taper/making-liquid-mixture-using-immediate-release-tablets-or-capsules

Hoping this works out for you.

On site:  How to make a liquid from tablets or capsules

^ 5 page topic, might have a video there, I don't have time right now to check it all over though

And then if it was one you found, you might find it again, with a general search from your main browser

So, don't fret.  If you do find a video, off site......please do post it here too, and I can move it into our topic as well.

Saw the naturalpatholigist for my stomach today. He worked on my Vegas nerve and gave me a supplement that will help soothe my throat and stomach. I came home and had my first meal without feeling like it was stuck in my throat and took the supplement He suggested and it calmed everything down. He also mentioned that this nerve is related to anxiety and if it’s happy rest of you will be as well. First treatment I had and I feel better. Will certainly be going back for more. ☺️💐hope this helps someone.

What was the supplement Pens?  And so glad you felt better too.  Yes, I've heard about the Vagus nerve relating to different things.

And guess what?  A topic:

Vagus Nerve Stimulation

you might even want to contribute there.

I am very happy for your relief of some symptoms.  Yay!!!

@manymoretodaysI’m going to have to use a portion of the Clonazepam 0.5 mg. Because I just am not functioning on 2-3 hrs sleep. Just until I can get a few night’s sleep. I’ve tried omega and magnesium but am so sensitive to everything that they make me sick.

How much of the DGL have you been taking?  I'm just getting to looking that up, as you should do as well.  And found this:

https://www.rxlist.com/consumer_licorice/drugs-condition.htm

Loads of side effects and adverse reactions.  This one ^ may be referring to the glycyrrhized type.

Are you worse since yesterday?  Notably so?  And I know it's tough.  You got 5 and 1/2 hours sleep the night before.

When's the last time you took a small dose of clonazepam?  And what happened.

I mean then, there is always the risk of rebound anxiety.......that when it wears off, you are even more anxious and restless.

I don't see it listed on your notes either.  The DGL licorice taken.  The notes can be so helpful, because then you can see, for yourself, what might be causing what.  And then I wonder if you got overstimulated with your Vagus nerve, treatment too.  Did you look at the link, because it talks about treatment that reduces Vagus stimulation versus that which stimulates it.  Vagus Nerve Stimulation

And it's doubtful that your practitioner knows much about psychoactive drug WD, and how to best approach.  They may be helpful for you and your symptoms.  You may have to let them know, however, that your nervous system is dysregulated right now, and for awhile to come though.......as well as report back that although you initially felt good, that then you felt worse.......if that IS the case Pens.  I don't know if that is the case, but I think you might.

We even have a topic on your DGL:

DGL- deglycyrrhiznated licorice

and then Alto's post there, with more information

No interactions found with licorice and your mirtazapine:  Drug Interaction Report

Mirtazapine and clonazepam:  Drug Interaction Report

and that combination above may add to your difficulties.

Drugs.com is so easy to access, and then add in your drugs to check interactions, or just check out a new drug or supplement(you can find some of them there, by using the search box right at the top of the site).

I just worry with you Pens, and all your additions sometimes.  Sometimes symptoms improve, I mean usually they do.......for most, without adding things.

How are you doing with the COPD right now, and asthma.......and inhalers and all?

Do you think you might have HA, or health related anxiety:

Health anxiety, hypochondria, and obsession with symptoms

And I am not trying to undermine how you feel right now, or when posting.  Not at all Pens.  I just want to work with you to get to a place of healing and acceptance too.  We have many members that struggle and ALOT with HA.

Okay,  my thoughts.  And do put everything in your wonderful notes, include stuff like a visit to the natural pathologist, and what treatment and then what supplement, and when, and how much taken.  You'll be amazed at what the notes might reveal.  Sometimes, I am.  I hope the DGL helps and is okay with you, so you can eat better, and feel better.  But you and we, have to be our own little scientists sometimes too.......especially in WD.......as far as what helps and what doesn't.

I hope that helps.  Waving my wand, waving my wand........for that feeling of good rest for Pens and calmness without worry.  And healing......healing, and more healing!

the DGL have you been taking?

Morning manymoretodays, I went in to see the stomach doctor on the 16th. I mentioned to him about my antidepressant withdrawal and tried to pronounce the word autonomic and he said the word for me and also said that the vagus nerve was a part of that. So he seemed knowledgeable. After the treatment I felt good and at supper that night I ate more than usual and had a DGL. Later on I had a lot of indigestion. I don’t know if it was because of the DGL or because I ate a large meal than I normally would have. So I haven’t taken any DGL since.

I do use the drug checker a lot. But sometimes lack Of sleep can get to the point where you need something to have one good nights rest. I haven’t taken any clonazepam. But I do have it In case all else fails. I am trying hard not to. Had a decent sleep last night. No screen time after five and changed out my pillow. Trying to calm down my racing mind. Only thing I am taking right now is Nystatin  and mirtazapine 1.5 ml.

I’m not using any inhalers but occasionally I do need to use my Nasonex. It should be mentioned in my notes.

I know you have my best interest at heart, and I so appreciate your time and advice. At the moment I’m dealing with this thrush and I’m finding that home remedies are working better at getting rid of it.

Did you look at the link

I do read the links thankyou.

My notes might not be too clear on amount of hours slept because I found by checking the clock all the time created anxiety

because I could see how little amount of sleep I was getting. So now when I wake up I just close my eyes and go back to sleep again.

I have another appointment with the stomach doctor. Whatever he did has really helped my stomach to calm down and be able to eat a decent amount of food.

Once again thank you for your time. Just knowing someone is working through this with me gives me hope. Have a wonderful day.

Yes, your naturalpath doctor does sound pretty nice, so that is great to have and get that support Pens.

And okay, thank you for reading, I had thought you were reading the links.......and I know it does help to post when one is feeling really anxious sometimes.

So you started this taper, with the mirtazapine at 1.5 mg or mL on March 14th too?  That may be giving you a little bit of symptoms uptick, in which case, maybe......just maybe the sleep issues will naturally improve as you adjust.

You said you slept better, so yay!  But then I only see 3 plus hours on your notes, so I'm assuming some additional broken sleep after the 3 hours.  And yes, use all the sleep hygiene you can.

That's good, that you found some more home remedies that help with the thrush.

And good on your breathing report.  I just want you to be cautious right now too, and take note of the "social distancing" and Covid19/Corona virus precautions.

Minor earthquake here this morning Pens!  That was weird.

You too, best day ever wishes.....

I did lose a little, and also had a hard time getting the weight back on, initially.  Now, it's back to normal, my weight.  It tends to flucuate a little, but not more than 5 lbs now, and not very often.  I don't even use my scale much anymore.  If my clothes fit, and I'm working out a bit, I don't worry anymore.

Now......I'm doing okay.  And really tolerate most things, in moderation, as far as food stuff goes.  I did not do much for the first year, physically.  Some walking.  Some swims I think.  A lot of out of bed, but couch time, or sit outside time.

It got better.  It gets better.

How much weight have you lost?

Have you tried some  Virgin Organic Coconut oil?  It's a plant based fat.  You can cook with it too.  It's okay for frying, as long as you don't do high temperature frying, and good in sauces too.  I take a teaspoon full of it most days and use it on my skin, it has some sun protection factor, and it's anti inflammatory.  I rub it on my gums too, after oral hygiene, and I swear my gum disease is better.   Good stuff really.  I drink mostly non-dairy milk, but do eat yogurt.  Kefir is good too.  I had meant to make my own, but have not yet.

Have you tried omega3's yet?  I don't know that they would help you keep weight on, but they are a "good fat", particularly for the nervous system.  I know you said magnesium was not so good now.

Are you able to eat without too much discomfort

Not really, still losing weight. I’ve gone from 198 to 139 lbs. the worst is lack of sleep, I’ve been trying to not take anything but am weak, lethargic and shaky. Will have to.try gravol tonight. My mind doesn’t want to shut down. I’m trying to sip magnesium but everything makes me nauseous. I try to get outside but only for short periods. Ok will try omega 3 again. I wish I could sleep too. Good to know you had the same taper and that you’re better. I’m on the couch most of the day trying to build up my strength. I eat good food but must be lacking somewhere. 💐

Hi everyone maybe a lot of people know this already but I noticed people with digestion issues. I tried having a cup of spring water with fresh squeezed lemon and it really helped with the heartburn and digestion. Lemons are also high in Vitamin C for the immune system. Keep well, and safe. 🙏🏻
just noticed Shep recommended lemon and honey for coughs and cold too!

@manymoretodays hi, not sure what to do, I’m not doing too good. Existing on 3 hrs sleep now from 5 hrs

should I updose, maybe I’m coming off too fast. I think I’m fighting Candida as well because of the thrush. Should I go back to the 1.6 ml. Sleep seemed to suffer after that dose change.
