I am Roxane. I am writing for support. I took three pills of Trintellix and had horrible sex dysfunction within a day or two. It had improved after a week and a half but then got worse. It has not improved much after three weeks. I am terrified I have PSSD. Does anyone know enough to help me with this information. It seems the professionals know little about it.

Hi, Roxane. Welcome to Surviving Antidepressants.

I've merged your two introduction threads. Please continue to post in this one thread so all of your information is in one place.

Is Trintellix the only psychiatric drug you've taken?

Hi Roxane, @Roxane

I just got your most recent post merged back with your main introduction here.  Just one introduction topic per member is the rule.  Can you bookmark this page for future reference.

And then, it's best to post right here too, with concerns regarding your unique situation, as well as ask any questions right here.

Propranolol 30mg daily started in October of 2019

Vitamin E

Synthroid 50mcg daily started in 2007

Okay and I went ahead and quoted your most recent post ^.

Are you then interested in tapering?  That appears that it might be the case.

We are an internet forum site for tapering of psychotropic drugs, and support and education around that, as well as WDsyndrome.

Why are you taking the Tegretol ?  And what do you mean by "no good results"?

Why are you taking the Propranolol?

And then I see you posted initially around Trintellix?  Are you still taking that?

Please put your withdrawal history in your signature to help us out.  Just follow the guidelines, and instructions in that link.

And how are you doing right now?

It looks like you have done a fair amount of posting, around the site, to date, without much posting in your own introduction.  This, your introduction page, is a good place to help us get to know you and your specific needs right now.

We don't have a specific topic on tapering Tegretol, as yet.  I know it gets used for seizure control and also as a mood stabilizer.

Some general tapering and WD(withdrawal) information:

Here, at survivingantidepressants.org, we recommend that a person taper by no more than 10% of their current dose with at least a four week hold in-between decreases.  The 10% taper recommendation is a harm reduction approach to going off psychiatric drugs.

When we take medications, the CNS (central nervous system) responds by making changes over the months and years we take the drug(s). When the medication is discontinued, the CNS has to undo all the changes it made.  The CNS likes stability. Rebuilding the neurotransmitter production and reactivating the receptor and transporter cells takes time -- during that rebuilding process symptoms occur.

Welcome Roxane, and good to have more of your information in one place now.

L, P, H, and G,

Roxane, I would recommend leaving your medication as they are for now until the moderators can advise you on what to do. Reducing too fast could worsen your condition.

Even after talking with your doctor I would recommend getting a second opinion from the moderators before doing anything.  Most doctors know jack **** about withdrawal and will suggest reductions that are way too big or fast.  This can do a lot of harm.  Even though the moderators and people here are not medical professionals they have lived experience and actually listen and know much more about withdrawal then most medical professionals.  I followed the doctors plan for tapering and had severe withdrawal for over a year.  I followed the taper plan recommend here and while I have had some mild symptoms, it is nothing compared to what I went through before.

Bookmarks can be done both on PC's and smart phones, Iphones too, I believe.

On my PC, it's a star up at the top of my screen, which I can click/tick and then I have a list of bookmarked items that I can pull up to get to frequently used sites/pages to access.

On my android device, I get a prompt to bookmark frequently used sites, and then once clicked/ticked, the same sort of easy access to sites/pages.

Hope that helps.
