Hi @Erell

I am ok, rocking back and forward between waves and windows. Thanks for asking

I just read brass monkeys essay yesterday, a good informative read for me. Acceptance is what stood out for me, something I have been struggling with.
When I am in a window it almost feels like a high for me, and then bam back in a wave I feel like I am at square one.

How are you doing?

Hugs to you💖

Hello

Yes, Brassmonkey essay is a huge work and is very relevant to help understand WD !

I understand  : it is very difficult to accept the fact healing is not linear. We are easily discouraged when we fall back into a wave after feeling better.

But the fact that you had nice windows show that you are on the right path...☀️

Must confess i admire you for being able to work while riding this bumpy road !

You are so strong dear ! I know you'll be ok ❤

Thank you so much for your kind words🙏
I am not stronger I feel then any of you in here. I did miss a few days off of work, while switching to Prozac. You do what you have to to survive, anger pushed me, the anger towards the « mentally ill » labelling I have had on my back for 20 years, anger towards psychiatrists, and big pharma.

You will also survive Erell, we all will, never stop believing in that. Sometimes it’s the only thing I held on to, still do

Lets go 💪

Hi everyone

A quick update

I am reaching 4 months drug free, Yay 😀 This is by far the longest period I have been med free in 20 years
I am doing fairly good, some days are better then others, rocking between waves and windows. Slowly the windows are coming in more frequently.
I have minimum physical symptoms, the symptoms I am dealing with are more emotional.
Everything feels more intense then when I was on Paxil, and I am learning that it’s normal since I am not numb anymore and it is new to me.

I am in the midst of painting my appartement so that’s shows that my energy is coming back😃

I would never have imagined being were I am at today, sometimes it feels unreal that I have finally made it drug free, and I have this site to thank for sure.

You can do anything that you set your mind on🙏

Take care and enjoy your day💖

Amazing to hear! Glad you are feeling better! 😊

I follow The Plant Paradox lifestyle by Dr.Gundry. This lifestyle has given me my life back and I feel better than I have ever felt in my life. It has enabled me to finally get off of this medication and truly live my life. Nutrition is the key to health!!!!!

2008 to 2019  - 20 mg Paroxetine

Attempted 2 CT's around the 5-6 year mark. Were absolutely terrible and reinstated. Was never explained by the doctor the seriousness of the short half life of this drug.

2017 - Attempted a tapered discontinuation of this drug and reinstated after being unsuccessful.

2019 - Feb. 12 - After a three month taper I am off of paroxetine. The 3 months were terrible, awful withdrawal feelings. I followed the doctors guidelines for the reduction of this drug and now know it was way too fast.
2019 - Oct. 12 - 8 months off paroxetine. 75% improvement since coming off the drug. Definitely have had tons of challenges along the way. Let’s go!!!!

2021 - Feb. 12 - 24 months off paroxetine. I have minor challenges now. Tinnitus/Headaches are still around but are reduced by a massive amount.

So I have been hit with a very bad wave for the last few days. An overwhelming sadness, anxiety and non stop crying. I feel like my brain is not working and I have a hard time responding to questions that I am being asked. Like I can’t find the words in my head.
It’s a hard place to be at, and I can’t tell my family this cause I am afraid they think I have relapsed.
This process has consumed me for the last 17 months. So I have decided to take a break from this forum and try to not focus on every symptom that I have and just learn to accept it. I have a hard time seeing the suffering in others too. So for now I will try to channel my thoughts on something positive.
Hugs to you all 🙏

Numerous W/D and C/T of those meds. During those years, my GP diagnosed me with GAD, Depression, etc... It was all W/D related, I know now!

Fall of 2019, after too fast attempt to taper Mirtazapine, put myself in full blown W/D.
February 2020, found SA and staying on 45mg Mirtazapine, waiting for stabilization.

February 2021, I stupidly used some Ativan prn to cope with Mirtazapine W/D symptoms (By far worst mistake of all my life!!).

Became accidentally and rapidly addicted (within 2-3 weeks). Started taper immediately.

Actual medication: Mirtazapine: 40,0mg - holding-
Ativan Taper: Started at 0,29mg march 2021, 03-28 0.28mg/ 04-08 0.27mg/ 04-26 0.25mg/ (...) 10-29 0.18mg/ 04-05-22 0.17mg/ 08-25-22 0.16mg/ 09-15-22 0.15mg/ 10-22-22 0.14mg/…/ 01-12-2023 0.11mg /07-02-2024 switch to 1mg Valium /

Update

I have been having a real hard time for a while now.

I appreciate all the support from my fellow survivors 💖 you have no idea how much it means to me.

I am having no brain function I feel, anxiety, depression, and trying to accept it all. It’s getting so hard, but one thing is clear....I will NOT be defeated, I WILL NEVER give up, I know I made the right choice by quitting this poison, and it will NEVER get the best of me.

Just wanted to note this in my journey of recovery 🙏

Lets go 💪

1999-2020  20 mg Paxil

Bridged with Fluoxetine to help me get off Paxil.

That attitude will get your through this! You are so strong! Everyday that passes is one day closer to being healed!

That’s another wave to tick off the list Tom. I don’t know whether this helps but I I’ll share it anyway just in case it does.

For this to be beneficial there has to be an initial belief that everyone heals eventually. With this in mind I imagine that I have a set number of waves that I am going to go through on this journey. No one knows what that number will be or how long it will take but there is a set number. Everyone who has healed had a set number of waves,  too many to count but a set number non the less. So after each wave I try to visualise that I’m now one wave down and one step closer to healing. A midwife recommended this technique to me. She said to welcome each contraction rather than fear it. Each contraction will be one step toward welcoming your  beautiful baby into the world 🧡.I’m not very good at welcoming waves yet but after one I always see it as a step closer to healing.

Take care Tom, you can do this and now you’re one step closer 🙏

Oh my goodness, having such good couple of days😊

My whole body is floating with sensations that feels so good.

I have been in a battle since starting this process. That’s the only thing I knew how to survive. All my music consisted of battle songs😂 I used to box through them, uuuh not a pretty sight😅

Now, I am starting to laugh so much, I could not wait to start working, meeting my co workers.
And now I am dancing in my appartement with happy little songs, with a big smile on my face🤩

I admire all of you so much.

Know that we will heal.

Now I will dance some more

Hugs to you all💖

Can relate so much on the dance ! 😃

Everytime symptoms fade I dance in my appartment !

Actually, I do think dance in itself can be a powerfull healer

Don't know if you'll want to try : I have issues to practice positive visualisation , but now I use visualisation while dancing : while dancing I can see/feel myself in a happy life, I can feel my inner strenght.

Thank you for the nice update, enjoy the dance ! ❤️

This is a great, I have used visualisation also, I did it by using lyrics in songs, and music has been my most used coping skill when I didn’t have anything else. When I was boxing 😅 I imagined kicking Paxils butt and all the pharma crew in whole 😆

By the way, I think you are super strong, and your inner strength is there already ,know that🥰

Thank you sweet @mustafa💖

I believe we will all have happy days coming our way, just depends on our healing journey, how long it takes. I am not healed, but I think I am on my way, and so will you.🙏

The music, oh my, 😆  My most favourite was for example I had the song “I am not afraid “ by Eminem playing non stop in the beginning of my journey, because I was so terrified. Then “eye of the tiger” when I needed to push through some hard times💪. I am kind of over them now😂

Thank you for dropping by with your kind words.

Hugs to you and take good care of yourself 💖
