Hi @ sunnysideup69,

Glad you're ok. Yes it is nerve racking, like walking into the unknown. I'm ok apart from headaches and dizziness. Plodding on the best I can. Made me realise the dizziness I get with withdrawal is more of a light headed feeling. Not looking forward to next one scheduled for middle of May.

Yeah, I too was nervous. I think especially for those of us that have had this wretched tangle with psycho drugs, it feels riskier, also.

Hopefully your May jab will be easier to deal with. I'm definitely hoping for less side effects after.

I think the best thing to do is to not worry and stress as that in itself will compromise your immune system. Find healthy distractions and healthy interactions with loved ones and pets.

Theres isnt a whole lot of evidence that our immunity is compromised, our nervous systems are completely dysfunctional, which does lead to stress which can make immunity worse, but oddly enough since

I think the best advise is really think of whether it's even wise to made a med change during a pandemic or not when normal helps may not be available. Online forums will be up, but if You destab

Understood. I’ll report back after the second dose.!

I’m now 8 days out from second dose of Pfizer. I had no side effects besides a sore arm, no exacerbation of withdrawal/tapering symptoms, etc.

Medication before problems: Took Paxil 60-100mg from 2003 to 2014 for OCD.
1) Last pill taken November 2014, horrendous withdrawal started six weeks later.

2) Re-instated successfully @ 20mg May 2015, but accompanied by severe anhedonia, loss of emotion, apathy, and fatigue

3) Switched to Prozac, Viibyrd, Zoloft, Nefazadone, Cymbalta, Nardil in attempt at abating WD symptoms while not re-introducing anhedonia. Each one either failed to relieve WD or brought back anhedonia. So re-stabilized on Paxil at 15mg

4) Tapered down to 7.5mg as of October 2016. More energy, anhedonia/loss of emotions remains apart from short windows.

5) May 2017 - down to 3.5mg of Paxil (no other meds)
6) Early 2018 - added 8mg of Prozac
7) January 2019 - down to 1.05 Paxil / 5mg Prozac and continuing

8) October 2019 - down to 0.2mg Paxil / 3mg Prozac

9) November 2019 - down to 0.1mg Paxil / 3mg Prozac

I got the the first Moderna vaccine last Tuesday.  My arm started to hurt that night and my system was activated.  I didn't sleep at all, which threw me into a really bad wave for a day.  Luckily I got some sleep the second night and this was followed by two relatively low symptom days.

The arm pain moved to my armpit it is still sore there.  My doctor says this is happening to many people where their lymph nodes are impacted.  I guess they're even revising guidelines for mammograms.

My symptoms from the shot were arm pain, then armpit pain.  But, it activated my system and put me into a wave.

I'm not sure I'm up for the second shot. My doctor asked me to give it a month, then decide.  Apparently there is some wiggle room in terms of when you get the next shot.

2012 - Lexapro 10mg
2017 - Lexapro 5mg (fast taper but stabilized)
11/1/20 - Stopped Lexapro 5mg cold turkey

1/13/21 - present - Reinstated Lexapro 2.5, then 5, then 10, currently 7.5

2/7/21 - present - Hydroxyzine 50mg, at first every night, now every 2-3 nights

No longer take:

2011 - Zoloft (3 months?  Dosage unknown.  CT/fast taper?)

2011 - Wellbutrin (1 week, Dosage unknown. CT)

1/16/21 - 2/4/21 - Ativan .5:  Took 13.5 pills over the course of 22 days and stopped

2/5/21 - Mirtazipine 7.5 (only took once)

2/24/21 - 3/8/31 - Propranolol 5mg

Supplements:  L-theanine 200mg three times per day, 1mg melatonin, magnesium glycinate 400mg, 2000mg fish oil

Younger people seem to be having more symptoms than older.

Supposedly due to the younger people having a more vibrant immune response.

Younger Women of child bearing age having the most symptoms,

Thought to be due to higher estrogen levels.

Still conjecture but that seems to be the patterns.

Hello All,

I received the JnJ vaccine on April 10th, 2021, right before the CDC recommended the pause on the vaccine.  I am about 3.5 months into a Pristiq taper and my last drop was about 10 days prior to the vaccine to 25mg.

The next day, about 17 hours after the injection I had muscle aches and a bad headache.  About mid day the following day I started to have very frequent brain zaps, about 1 every minute or so and in some cases several back to back.  During my taper, I have had only a handful of brain zaps, maybe 5 total, so this was unusual.  The day after the vaccine I also had some chills and difficulty sleeping.  The following day, day 3 after the vaccine day, I had a few zaps in the morning and then nothing since (now day 4 post vaccine).

Overall, the brain zaps were uncomfortable but tolerable.  Should the vaccine resume again, I would not discourage anyone from getting it based solely on my experience.  It was uncomfortable but temporary.

2002-2011: Prozac, Lexapro, Xanax

2011-2018: Pristiq 100mg.  Anxiety well controlled, few side effects.  Life is good.

2019: anxiety hits an all time high. Tried to cross taper Prozac and Pristiq but was not successful.  Took Klonopin and had a hard time coming off.

2020: Pristiq 100mg maintained.  Took Gabapentin for 3 months for herniated disc.  Had a hard time coming off of it and tapered for 9 months finally being free in November 2020.

January 2021: 50mg Pristiq to 43.75.

February 2021: 37.5 using 25mg and half of a 25mg.  Going to start compounding with next drop shortly to go slower.

March 2021: holding at 37.5mg.  Will attempt to reduce by 10% in late March (about 6 weeks from previous drop if things are going well).  Dropped mid-March to 31.25mg.  Felt better in 2-3 days after, then increased symptoms starting day 5.

My husband (who has never taken any psych drugs and takes no medicines on an ongoing basis) had the vaccine on Apr 8.  The first couple of days, we didn’t notice any change.

We have been wondering if he had non-symptomatic Covid for a while now.  Every test, even the antibody test, has been negative, but we were in Spain until Jan 3, 2020 and flew home from Madrid on a huge plane full of people.  He has had odd symptoms throughout the last year.

Most recently, he has had headaches every day for about 4-6 months. I wish we had kept track of them.  They are debilitating at times.  If he coughs or sneezes or bends the over, he gets shooting pains in his head, and his headache gets worse.  Every once in a while, the headache goes away, and that is always surprising.

Two days before the vaccine, Apr 6, he had an MRI with contrast to search for an aneurysm.

He feels bad every day, so it’s very hard to know what the vaccine or the MRI contrast might have done.

On Sat, the 10th, he was in bed with the chills.  Each day since then he has felt quite bad, but he did drive to see his mother yesterday.

We are hoping he doesn’t have an aneurysm, of course, and that maybe if he did have Covid, the vaccine will be helpful to him in the long run.  It was a risk, but we felt it was a good risk.

I haven’t had mine yet.  I think I should, but I haven’t had the courage yet.  The thought of having akathisia again is too terrifying.

Hi all,

I’m 20 years old (male), and had the AstraZeneca vaccine (1st dose) exactly two weeks ago now, so I’ve not had a blood clot, nor died.

I think I had asymptomatic COVID in March 2020 as my ex girlfriend had it, and I’d spent the entire past two weeks with her, though as I said, I showed no symptoms. I’ve also had brushes with covid positive people before and had no symptoms.

My reaction to the first dose was horrible, I had every symptom of inoculation. It felt like I was continually waning in + out of consciousness, all over body pains, pain, weakness, sore lymph nodes, swollen face + hot flushes, and a rash on my arms, oh yeah and an awful headache. All of these symptoms lasted 24 hours, almost exactly, then disappeared.

I think my reaction was so bad to my first dose as I might have had covid before, and my age.

I felt a little off for a few days as I think it taxed my system a little, though I had no flare up of any of my preexisting symptoms. The ‘oddness’ lasted for just over a week, which I suspect to be lasting inflammation from my immune spike (I’m sensitive to inflammation anyway) but that’s gone now, and I feel as good as I can be.

I read at the start of this thread that a few are worried about our immune system being compromised - I’ve not had a single cold since having my adverse reaction, n as I said earlier I’ve probably had covid asymptomatically, and I’ve read on a forum about adverse reactions to another form of psychoactive medication that the medications damage a certain function of the brain that allows virus’ to reproduce? It was a study from a research group looking into the idea, I can’t remember any of the details but it was reputable to say the least

I hope this info helps, I’m 100% getting my second dose, for me atleast it can’t be as bad as the first. The feeling of safety, and the sight of a future outweighs any worries that I have.

Early September 2019 - One 25mg dose of Sertraline taken.

Early October 2019 - Five 25mg doses (pills) of Sertraline taken for five consecutive days.

Withdrawal/reaction happened on the 27th of October (2019) in the evening.

Symptoms that have gone: Joint and muscle pain/weakness in my legs, phantom senses, chemical dread, chemical fear, DP/DR has gotten a lot lot better than what it is now, it was one of my worst and all-encompassing symptoms when it started, awful aphasia, parkinsonism, head pressure, pressure in my frontal lobe when trying to think/work out something, inability to plan or execute anything//feelings of being literally scatterbrained, inability to think in my head other than slight acknowledgements - the voice in my head sounded weak and 'small' like it was restrained to a much smaller area of my brain, constant fatigue, emotional numbness, constant eyestrain, and changes in perception of colour/contrast in sight.

Main remaining symptoms: Visual Snow/HPPD, derealisation, tinnitus, and brain/cog fog.

Drug free.

It seems to depend on the particular "gene therapy" being used.

For one of them, the 2nd shot is the one designed to be the more "activating" administration.

(It was either the Pfizer or Moderna, as if was an American article discussing the 2 available in the USA).

As for the Astra Zeneca, I have not read as must medically but their are some accounts from Ireland about after administration issues.

Thought I'd update;

Had the first Astra Zeneca on March 19th, felt like crap for four days or so, as if I had the flu....but my mood was okay. Recovered, but the symptoms came back again ten days later, along with a feeling of flatness, no motivation. Called in sick to work, literally could not be bothered at all, no motivation to get out of bed, just felt low.

Then three and a half weeks later, felt some of the symptoms again, sore throat, headachey, generally a bit achey plus low mood.

Caveat; I'm in a wave this past week which COULD be provoked by the jab, but also likely to be poor diet...had a LOT of sugar over Easter.

January 2008 to April 2015 Citalopram 20mg to 5mg, reducing in 50 per cent leaps. Jumped off at 5mg

March 2016 used MDMA triggered setback

April 2016 Citalopram 10mg October 2016 cut to 5mg, May 2017 cut to 2.5mg

May 2018 used MDMA triggered setback

June 2018 Citalopram 2.5mg up to 10mg, then back to 5mg

July/ August 2018 7.5mg, then 10mg

June 2019 updosed to 20mg Citalopram

August 2019 cold switch to Venlafaxine 75mg XR
