Administrator Altostrata Posted June 26, 2020 Administrator Share Posted June 26, 2020 We do not advise going off the second drug while you have withdrawal syndrome, unless the second drug is adding to your problems. Dawnd
@Frogie @Benzhelp @ChessieCat @Altostrata hello...update and need to help... I realized that I shouldn’t taper from the Gabapentin while in severe WD after 10 months off Effexor. I was taking 100mg gabapentine 3x a day, dropped to 95mg for two days, then bumped up to 97.5 for 13 days. Two days I ago I went back up to 100mg and last night the nerve pain increased, the insomnia, and my head and hands are vibrating. Was it a bad choice to go back to my Original dose of 100mg ? Was it too late to Updose after a 15 day reduction? 2020, April 17 to date: 100mg Gabapentine 3xdaily 2019, January to August Venlaxifine uneducated/hapharzard tapering, stopped middle of August *Rough Dates below: 2018 Venlaxifine 25mg x2 a day 2014 - 2018 Venlaxfine back to 37.5mg 2010 - 2014 Venlaxfine upped 75mg 2008 - 2010, Venlaxifine 37.5mg 2002 to 2008 Zoloft, Welbutrin, Amitriptyline: no extact dates, started at one and moved to the next over time Link to comment

Now your body is in wd mode. If it were me, I would hold and not adjust the dosage at all for a few weeks to stabilize again. You’re body is confused and needs to rest. Moderator Emeritus Gridley Posted July 11, 2020 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 11, 2020 (edited) @Dawnd One possibility is magnesium, which can have a laxative effect and is one of the few supplements we recommend. Regarding laxatives, ChessieCat wrote the following: "If you do need to take a laxative I suggest using the natural types, like Senokot, a brand name of senna, a natural vegetable laxative. I would urge caution about using chemical laxatives. Do your research." Edited July 11, 2020 by Gridley Gridley Introduction Lexapro 20 mg since 2004. Begin Brassmonkey Slide Taper Jan. 2017. Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted July 12, 2020 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted July 12, 2020 I'm taking codeine at the moment for a back problem. One of the side effects of Codeine is constipation. I've been taking 1 senna tablet at night but found that it wasn't quite enough so instead of taking 2 senna tablets I've also been adding 1/4 bran sticks to my cereal. Dates are very high in fibre. Try eating 2 large or 3 medium dates 3 or 4 times a day. Prunes can also be helpful. You also need to ensure that you drink plenty of water and also gentle walking for exercise throughout the day which helps motility. * NO LONGER ACTIVE on SA * MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: (6 year taper) 0mg Pristiq on 13th November 2021 ADs since ~1992: 25+ years - 1 unknown, Prozac (muscle weakness), Zoloft; citalopram (pooped out) CTed (very sick for 2.5 wks a few months after); Pristiq: 50mg 2012, 100mg beg 2013 (Serotonin Toxicity) Tapering from Oct 2015 - 13 Nov 2021 LAST DOSE 0.0025mg Post 0 updates start here My tapering program My Intro (goes to tapering graph) VIDEO: Antidepressant Withdrawal Syndrome and its Management Link to comment

Do keep us updated and try your best to remain calm maybe practice meditation and mindfulness.
