my anxiexty was threw the roof i started panicing over every little symptom i seemed to have i went to the er multiple times even believe me i am sure i fustrated a few people thinking i was having a heart attack one day thinking i had a stroke ect 

9/24/2020 Started Paroxetine 20mg used 7 days discontinued   did a one day 10mg half dose taper then stopped ct.     

9/28/2020 Started trying Multi vitamin one a day vitacraves gummies  also currently using  Magnesium 500mg  fish oil 1000mg.  As suggested by a member.  9/13/2020 Was taking Vyvanse 20mg a stimulant med for adhd currently stopped hoping to continue if needed to function correctly .   

10/16/2020 resumed the ADHD medication. 

01/15/2021 currently still taking adhd meds 20 mg an upside of 30mg has been suggested still using fish oil and magnesium occasionally as well as finishing off the gummie vitimins 

Almost no cannabis consumption and just a few cups of coffee a day no tobbaco or alcohol no other meds. Using selsun blue on the skin and hair during showering.

i get what you are saying i have stopped asking about the withdrawl   i am aware of  what is going  on everyone else i have talked with on here is  aswell they have told me i had a bad reaction thats all some people can cold turkey a med or 2 and nothing will happen i had a horrible time  and still am not 100% i did not know how to properly get off the med once i noticed and no medical professional told me how to do so. i had to come on a site like this and read about a 10% taper which i did not fully understand.

 

like one guy said the opposite of what you said just now he said blame the drug maker not yourself do not beat yourself up over this  apparently you have a different take which is fine. 

I did not mean to sit here and post about every symptom everyday and ask what is wrong .

 

but how does not reporting anything help anybody wouldent you agree if the fda realizes enough people have reacted negativly to a med like paxil after just a very short time then maybe they would change there guidelines on the med

James, I need to to stop posting and really focus on what I am saying to you, ok friend?

You need to stop posting about and thinking about everything that has happened in the past and what you've already talked about multiple times.

 

This site provides peer support for tapering off psychiatric drugs and withdrawal syndrome.

You are now off the Paxil completely, so you are done tapering.

 

Supporting you through the withdrawal syndrome and or the adverse reactions requires that you focus on taking care of yourself.
You are working against yourself by doing things that delay your healing, which is focusing on the negative aspects of your experience.
 

When you continue to do this, you are making your own symptoms worse.

we can't help if you're going to make yourself sick by continuing to worry about the past and the future.

so what your suggesting coloniel is not to think about the past or any negative thought and just keep living life.

 

what your saying is forget about everything that's understood I didn't plan on mentioning anything else about the past I was just trying to figure out what symptoms I was experiencing and if they were abnormally weird or if there was anything that I could have done about what I was experiencing I didn't think that I was repeating myself too much I didn't realize that I might have been repeating the same thing on several occasions. I did my best to try to clarify everything and not piss anyone off

It's not about "not thinking about the past" but learning to accept that it has happened (fact) but not attaching any emotion to it, and learning/understanding that you can't go back and change it, but that you can learn ways to help yourself now and in the future.  It's basically putting the past where it belongs, that is, in the past.

To some extent, yes!

You are stuck thinking about the same things over and over, and that is increasing your panic whether you know it or not.

You are obsessing about your symptoms.

 

Here are 3 helpful guides.

In your next post please post at least one thing you have learned from reading each of them, and then one goal that you wish to work forward to.

Once we can see where you are understanding your own problem and your idea of how to go forward, perhaps we can assist in that goal.

But if you do not first identify what you need to change and why we can not assist you with that goal and we will then have to move on to other members

thank you for that info  once again i am sorry if i over posted worries 

 

I was just trying to at first just post what happend to me during the 7 days of the  med then what happend when i got off the med however during that time i started to notice different physical problems getting worse which i did not fully understand. the whole waves thing then it was well great my chest doesnt hurt now but wtf is this horrible leg pain omg i do not like it ect so when that stuff was happening i began to worry and assume health conditions and look up stuff on the net which i am sure you guys have dealt with alot of people in the past that ended up doing the same thing.

 

instead of just saying this is what my problem is today i kind just repeated myself because what would happen is it seemed out of about 12 symptoms which seemed severe about 5 of them went away fairly quickly then the rest seemed to have stayed for a good while so nothing changed at that point .

 

Its like a few of you have said some trigger might make a few things come back all of the sudden so it wasnt like i could post a big change then of course i added the original symptoms in some of my posts which sounded repetative  and i am sorry for that.

 

It is still hard for me to talk to people in real life my speech is off so i mess up a sentence or a word sometimes its hard to carry a good conversation.

 

Its hard for most people to believe that after such a short bout with a physc med i am so messed up and i wish i had an answer for everyone i come across whether here or in real life but i  do not understand enough about drugs like this paxil.

 

I am greatful for sites like this and i am glad i found this resource i think what people do on here is great some of the work they put in.

 

I realized what a friend told me today lots of people can and do choke on chicken going into a restaurant every year  so does that mean i should try it even thought i might choke to death i mighty receive a bigger gift card but is it worth it .

 

I have to accept the choice i made and live with it crying about 7 days doesnt help lots of people on here spent years crying and i wanted a cure all i guess life doesnt work that way.

 

Thanks for listening everyone that shared positive information i have learned a great deal of info from alot of you and i know alot of you are still dealing with life i hope some of you can get off everything one day.

Someone told me something like that a couple months ago when i was anxious and they said something like put your problems on  a leaf and let them  fall from a tree then send it down the river

what what i have learned from reading in to some of those three forum topics is that things are always changing and they will get better over time.

 

I have also learned that you cant be searching the internet for a cure all its like the folks that claim reefer cures things when it fact it just puts a band aid on stuff you have to accept nothing cures everything it might help but no cure i guess its a waiting game.

 

You gotta take things low and slow and slowly but surely you will climb the latter

 

I understand there is nothing anyone can do for me or that i can do for them its like another member said to me a mental patient cannot treat another mental patient there for  i do not expect people with mental illnesses themselves to perform witch craft thats what a phycologist is for and they get paid rather well.

 

I doubt i am the first person to come on here and wake up with a rash and ask what is going on or wake up with a really cold like foot when it is 60 degrees out and say what is going on. At first i did not know how to discover the information i was seeking.

 

I am starting to look at things like this manson was the leader of a cult some people chose to follow him for one reason or another there is nothing the world can do about the outcome now

 

I am gonna just keep living day by day and keep telling myself that every little physical visual problem that i seem to have will slowly but surely straighten it self out.

 

Maybe if someone could however point me in the direction of someone who might of  had a short stay  with this mighty paxil i might feel better about myself i have tried to look through some of these posts in the forum and it seems like most of you have battled with a list of serious drugs i must be one of the few one night stand kind of people on here.

You don't need that to feel better about yourself if you feel bad about what happened.

These things happen and looking to others experiences, and they can help give us an idea of what to expect.

But the quickest way to get back to feeling better is good healthy food, staying hydrated, regular sleep and mild exercise and focusing your mind on positive goals and experiences either by yourself or with you are with others. Maybe you would benefit from keeping a written journal every day.  In the morning write down just one goal for the day and before bed one thing that happened you were thankful for.  Then you can go back every week and review what goals you were able to achieve and remember all the good things that happened and form a plan to keep all those things going.  Baby steps forward and over time you can look back on all the goals you were able to achieve and all the good that happened and that will give you patience to keep going one day at a time and more happiness since you will see the future will not be as bad as your fears want you to believe.

yea thanks again i know most of you are or have been on severe heavy meds and it is alot worse for all of you.

 

Some one told me this to write down stuff in like a journal and share with like my doctor the problem is finding things to look forward to or stay bust with. covid makes it harder to get out and do different things because stuff is either closed or not open for 6 months ect but im sure there things i still could try .

 

if you dont mind me asking how long have you been on paxil colonial?     the add makes it hard to follow all of those numbers and such.

 

I also have never shared this with you guys but about 2 years ago i was riding a moped and i hit a patch of rock and lose gravel and lost control and fell off with no helmeti was almost afraid to even ride a bike ever again and somehow i found a way to over come that fear i ended up selling the bike it was from 1979 and in mint shape which i hated to do but i figured i could use some $ the kid young kid who ended up buying it blew it up several months later and also fell off it once or twice go figure .

 

Also about 5 years ago i was working for a roofer with some other guy who decided it was a good idea to stand above me while stripping cedar shake off the side of a house and ended up hitting me in the head with a roofing type shovel which had teeth at the end i am lucky to be alive still i some how came out of that . i managed to put a shirt over my head to stop the bleeding and after 30-40 mins it pretty much stopped and never visited the er or got stitches .  I know alot of posts on here say the human brain has an amazing potential to heal and recover so far i seem ok other then a small type bump  and the shovel was fairly new and not rusty. so i have  worried about that a few times. so as you can see some of my problems end up being part way caused buy other individuals.

 

Anyways thanks for listening tomorrow is a new day.  i recieved a brand new k cup machine now i am going to be compelled to use it and brew a cup of coffee i had told my relative i was cutting down on the coffee i guess they missed that we will have to see how that goes maybe just one cup a day wont kill me i now have 50 of them to make go figure.

Also you say it would do me no good at this point  to research someone else who might have tried the paxil and failed after a short period? sorry if i am loopin a thought im greatful for all of the info i have recieved anyways

I was on Paxil about 20-25 years before I started to taper almost 6 years ago.

I don't know if you will find other Paxil stories for people who only took it a week and had an adverse reaction but you might.

Most are withdrawal stories but the point is that we think it is best for you to stop thinking about the medication.

You still need to go through each of those 3 links and answer those 6 questions.  You can do 1 a day if you would like.

that sounds negative because a user on here doesnt instantly do what someone asks its gotta be negative  ok if you say so  not everyone can just snap there fingers and read paragrapes after paragrapes instantly im sorry you feel that way i guess people who are suffering are supposed to just magically have an answer for anyone who desires full  attention.

9/24/2020 Started Paroxetine 20mg used 7 days discontinued   did a one day 10mg half dose taper then stopped ct.     

9/28/2020 Started trying Multi vitamin one a day vitacraves gummies  also currently using  Magnesium 500mg  fish oil 1000mg.  As suggested by a member.  9/13/2020 Was taking Vyvanse 20mg a stimulant med for adhd currently stopped hoping to continue if needed to function correctly .   

10/16/2020 resumed the ADHD medication. 

01/15/2021 currently still taking adhd meds 20 mg an upside of 30mg has been suggested still using fish oil and magnesium occasionally as well as finishing off the gummie vitimins 

Almost no cannabis consumption and just a few cups of coffee a day no tobbaco or alcohol no other meds. Using selsun blue on the skin and hair during showering.

correcton you asked if i would do something then basically said if i did not do it then i was a jerk and should go pay someone to listen  way to be unsensitive im sorry you feel that way forget i asked about something else i will not say no more . you snap your fingers then get upset sorry that you feel that way things take time. 

 

i will listen to what you told me and research that but not at 1am  5 hours later. Sadly Sleep is the only time i have to be happy and not feel sad

ya i am sorry for spreading my misery around most people do not believe that i feel a certain way after 2 months i had no idea how powerful the med paxil was and it has caused me to fall apart i am slowly getting myself back together.

 

i am sorry if i seemed ungrateful in here i found out all i could find out after someone suggesting the site it is a great resource it is also really  easy to get overwhelmed i tried looking for an instant cure all and it does not work i cannot make my heal any faster then it is .

 

I think we are all here for some of the same reasons we want to heal an it is not easy i am doing the best i can to not think about everything negative that could happen. i do not know why i had the original panic attack not much is know as to why people can panic the way it happend to me until we do research as things start to become legal ill never know i just have to move forward and try to stay away from any mind altering substance and hope ii do not slip back into any severe mental state.

 

I am human like everyone here when we get cut we bleed.  We all fear something.      Change is like a man hanging onto a rock in the middle of a swift river. He's cold, wet and miserable, but he's afraid of letting go of the rock and being swept downriver into the unknown.

 

Most people around me think i am crazy and i cannot change what people believe. 

 

As of right now i feel like i am the only one in the world whining and crying about pills i took 2 months ago.  Most people in life  do not understand almost as if i am lieing or making something up i guess that is partly because they do not fully understand how meds like paxil work. most of you know all to well what these type of meds can do 

 

I apologize  if i upset or offended some people i currently have alot of issues going on in life that unfortunatly cannot be resolved right away time thats all we have.

 

Most of us will be dealing with new covid restrictions and will not beable to go see our families for the holidays.

 

I am grateful to have had the oppertunity to have  received alot of help full information on here.

 

So far we cannot clone people if we could we could prolly reverse or prevent some  type of problem before it occured and we would all live till 100  unfortunately we would need several clones

 

i will refrain from posting who knows what the future holds.  I think we as people have to accept that some people may have problems way worse then ourselves and that has to be kept in mind.

yes i get that i felt overwhelmed for a minute there i did not mean to upset people for offering advice and i have read some of that info like how to cope but my mind is kind of confused right now i have trouble remembering things like peoples names from just 4 years ago and a few other things.

 

i will have to try to read some of that info again and see if i can help correct a few of the things i am feeling mostly physical.

 

Its almost like you worry about panicing again and then you have to worry about some physical problem and become unsure if it needs some special treatment or if you will come out of it.

 

Sometimes its hard for me to understand that some of the discussion is a group effort like when someone posts something on here and uses the term we i say to myself well dident one  person ask a  question . Obviously you guys have been helping people together for a good amount of time so it feels like a group effort i will have to keep that in mind.

No i do not use drugs only what is prescribed i take a stimulant first day actually trying it  again and yes one day i took a puff off of some ones pipe because they kept saying that i needed to relax and suggested i do so they suggested i needed to forget about the past and that one panic could happen to anyone and that i am not the only one who has ever smoked and paniced the person also tried to offer me a can of beer and i refused politely and they  said to just take it home obviously i cannot drive if i drink i would not ever condone that and i kindly said no i do not need that and i also said i do not need a substance to feel good or better about myself you have to have control and will power i could have went for several tokes and drank that beer and then left but i had will power and i knew it was not worth my recovery i have come to far.

 

over indulging is the reason i ended up in fear in the first place spending most of your money and time trying to get a buzz everyday and being around people like that does not help  some people might be able to function that way but i cannot my body has changed and my lungs will thank me and i am sure many other parts.

 

I have been pretty clear that i do not use drugs or alc  i can barely function without drugs i do not need a substance to feel good about anything i probably  have an addictive personally i am sure someone has told me that in the past but i do not need a poison to control me or make me feel some type of way  no drug has ever done anything positive for me or anyone else.

 

I have lost plenty of friends to dope went from being good hard working people to losing it all some have even been murdered innocently from others drug use and what i mean by saying dope is hardcore like needles dope not green.

Withdrawal causing intrusive or repetitive thoughts, rumination, and increased panic?  i realize that there are ways to cope with those problems that might help you have to think about the future more then the past it does no good to worried about something that is done and over with some things might work for some others might not you have to find a balance and you cannot let small setbacks bother you.

 

I want to work towards not over thinking  about one topic or issue in life i want to try to make things better day by day i have to move on and accept the things i cannot change.I have to accept what has happend to me over the years.

 

 

Health anxiety, hypochondria, and obsession with symptoms.  what i have learned out of this section is that no amount of reassurance from anyone even a doctor is going to help you can spend hours trying to search for some magic answer and its not going to help plenty of misinformation  which can create more worry you have to think to your self what logically makes sense and work through it

 

I want to work on not trying to solve every problem i think i have came across with the internet or a substance like i have stated before that is just a band aid  also not trying to find that special someone who can magically tell me what my issue could be and fix it.

 

 

 

Rebuilding self-confidence, accepting anxiety   I have learned from a few people that the first step can sometimes be the hardest taking things slow and that the planet is very old most will not last that long so there is no point in trying to figure a whole planet out

 

what i want to work towards is reminding myself that rome was not built in one night take things slow and low and that i am not the only one in the world that has issues or thats ever felt sad or been broke or rode a bus ect.

 

Things can get better the human brain is capable of amazing healing power.

 

Is it easy to worry about health issues from a medication  as well as past health issues it sure is and  combine those 2 together.   

 

 

 

 

 

Imagine this i have a broken arm lose of work then months later  10 other things happen car breaks down ect all while i have to get a cast off and figure out how to pay rent now you end up in a situation were you have to worry about the new issues while trying to get a cast off at some point and apply for severe jobs you might not like  if that makes sense something to that effect thats how i have felt and i have been slowy trying to break that habit the what now thing.

 

As we get older we do not know what is next things catch up with people sometimes and sometimes its impossible to know the why or what 

   

9/24/2020 Started Paroxetine 20mg used 7 days discontinued   did a one day 10mg half dose taper then stopped ct.     

9/28/2020 Started trying Multi vitamin one a day vitacraves gummies  also currently using  Magnesium 500mg  fish oil 1000mg.  As suggested by a member.  9/13/2020 Was taking Vyvanse 20mg a stimulant med for adhd currently stopped hoping to continue if needed to function correctly .   

10/16/2020 resumed the ADHD medication. 

01/15/2021 currently still taking adhd meds 20 mg an upside of 30mg has been suggested still using fish oil and magnesium occasionally as well as finishing off the gummie vitimins 

Almost no cannabis consumption and just a few cups of coffee a day no tobbaco or alcohol no other meds. Using selsun blue on the skin and hair during showering.

Yes, small set backs in your symptoms will occur for all of us, it's good that you found that so you will not worry so much.

Set backs do not mean we need a new medication or to feel all is lost, it is the normal ebb and flow of healing.

As your brain fixes itself over time, the work it is doing will occasionally create symptoms. We just stay calm and remember it's actually part of the healing process.

The day by day approach you refer to is very good, especially early on, sometimes it's hour by hour when we are feeling very poorly.

Again, that is perfectly normal for an adverse reaction and the good news is feeling somewhat back to normal can occur in a few months for some.

That was really very well done, and shows a lot of wisdom.  Obviously when we don't feel well, common sense tells us to find out why, but the balance is knowing for this sort of problem, there is no one magic supplement or pill, and constantly trying to find one and taking this prescription or that usually ends up failing for many people.  For some people, however, just knowing there is nothing other than time but they will get better is a huge relief, because they no longer feel responsible to continue looking.  Once they know it's just a matter of time and their brain working it out it is a huge relief, and that lowers the stress level, which speeds the healing up.  Every personality is different but the sooner we can get to that moment of acceptance it can bring us that relief.

This is very true, not only are we less likely to rebound as quickly as we get older, as we do we have more things we have been through in life that add up and form the over all problems we face.  Which is why to try to look at one particular problem or adverse reaction by itself many times fails.  Your adverse reaction has to be viewed in the over all context of all the things that proceeded it.  All of a persons drug use, whether illegal or prescription plays a big part in how our brains are rewired and compromised.  So since  it is true some people have adverse reactions to psych meds without any prior drug history, if a person does have a list of prior drug and alcohol use it can make a reaction worse or slow the recovery time.

 

Also, when you stopped the Vyvanse cold turkey, that also causes issues. I think you have suggested you have restarted it.  If so, please update your signature line with the date you restarted and the dose.  Please know that not taking your ADHD medication as prescribed but haphazardly will be problematic to your recovery as well.

 

You may find keeping a notebook helpful with reviewing goals and measuring your progress.  One does not have to write alot a day, one or 2 sentences are fine.  Since you are capable of writing a lot here You are capable of doing it.  You might try on the left page to put the morning goal and on the right page a note about something positive that occurred or something that didn't work out to avoid.  You could probably get 2 weeks worth on each page, morning and night.

 

Try that for a month and see if it helps you stay focused on the positive goals and if you make progress and then let us know after Christmas if that was useful.

yes thank you guys for helping me out the best that you could I know you guys don't get paid possibly and stuff and you're just trying to live your life like everybody else. And provide some support along the way if you can some of you are dealing with your own problems. Which can take its toll.

 

What I'm starting to see is some people have more problems than I have would sometimes it's hard to believebecause you want to think that sometimes people cause their own misery but any number of things can cause a person to feel a certain type of way every single day of their life and there's no way to fully know why someone feels this way everybody's brain and body is different.

 

from what I have noticed a lot of people who come across sites like this they come on here and they post and they seem really upset either with their situation or just frustrated in general and they don't seem to be getting a quick fix so they become upset with everyone else because you begin to feel like nobody's listening to you.

 

Especially for someone who has never dealt with some of these issues for a long period of time like some of you have dealt with them some people are new to this. It is suggested that they try a certain medication and for some people who come on here it doesn't go so well for them their first time so they feel lost.

 

So far to this day I am still having a few  random issues which I don't think will go away magically but I have no idea what to expect for the future like I've mentioned in the past I've never taken a psychiatric drug ever once before so I had no clue what to expect and I didn't understand how severe these type of drugs could be if I'd known how powerful paxil could have been in the first place I probably would have told the person who was offering to prescribe it that I was all set with that for now and it would have just waited out my anxiety.   

 

from what I know the problem I had could have been  caused by over consumption of cannabis too much THC and tolerance because I never had that happen to me before I did not think that it was possible now I'm starting to see that something like that could happen so now I kind of know what to expect I realize that my body could go in the fight of flight mode if I use the stuff.

 

For years it seemed to get rid of problems that I had I almost thought that I had less anxiety from using the stuff but who really knows one of life's mysteries. a plant from the earth who would have thought but I mean I guess if you use too much of anything it can display its powers in many ways like people who take different things a lot of people these days say they're a therapeutic benefits in psilocybin and this and that and so forth in moderation so who really knows. I am in no way suggesting that anyone should use mine altering substances however there might be some type of therapeutic benefits to some of those items if they are used properly I'm no doctor no scientist no expert so I wouldn't assume.

 

So far I am still taking things day by day I had seen another post on here where another fellow was mentioning he was on some type of med and he had a similar problem to me and he didn't take it that long some of what he had mentioned seems exactly like what I had noticed the anxiety doesn't seem to be there much anymore.

 

My brain seems kind of heavy and my energy level seems low. I am hoping like another person said this will pass after a while. 

 

Another thing that I notice is my face in my ears and stuff mostly my upper body appear red I'm also hoping that this will clear up at some point as well.

 

Another thing that I noticed is a small amount of foot pain in one foot once in a while and my right eye lid sort of twitches here and there when I try to go to bed and lay down if I lay on my left side I can sometimes hear my heart beating and it almost seems like it is beating a tiny bit faster than it normally should but then again I am not sure.

 

I am trying to remain positive and I'm hoping that these minor inconveniences are not anything severe.

 

I do take the multivitamins once in a while and I use the supplements magnesium and fish oil like others have suggested once in a while I have heard from multiple people that that helps especially with anxiety the fish oil but I am not 100% sure if it is doing anything for me but I attempt to take it here and there I drink about two or three cups of coffee a day not quite as much as I've been drinking before some days I might only have one cup. I do not really smoke anything if I come across it I might be tempted to take a puff or  too but no longer like I used to be. 

 

I don't constantly think about smoking every single day all hours of the day like I used to and I don't constantly think about drinking caffeine all day like I used to. I drank maybe three beers around New year's and that was a pretty much itI seem to be okay I'm not really much for alcohol I have  seen good people make bad decisions from that habit also have not touched a cigarette or any type of tobacco have not even puffed on a blunt.

 

I hope I am allowed to post this as an update I am not trying to get too detailed into everything.  I'm hope what I am sharing on here will help somebody else in the future who is having problems or who would immediately assume there was no hope.

 

Things do seem to get better over time like everyone has said we are not aloneif someone comes on here and thinks that they are alone in their situation and they are losing hope immediately and they want to give up they should probably realize that there are many people who were at one time or are  currently in the same situation sometimes the mind is a terrible place to hang. 

 

I know that life isn't over for me but it will be a process.

 

you can get angry and frustrated because things aren't happening with the snap of a finger but it doesn't do any good. They say time heals all wounds.

 

It's almost like the winter time I'm hopeful that in a few months I will be saying to myself how did it get so late so soon.

 

I try to tell myself Yesterday has gone tomorrow has not yet come

 

I guess I can say the issues I still have are annoying yet manageable I feel like a turtle in  it's first race
