Moderator Emeritus getofflex Posted March 5, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 5, 2021 I am currently reading a book on my kindle reader called "Anatomy of an Epidemic" by Robert Whitaker. It goes into detail explaining the corruption in the drug companies and health care field. It reveals data about studies that have been done that prove that psych meds actually worsen outcomes for people with the mental illness label. It goes into all of the marketing schemes that big Pharma has implemented. I find it very enlightening. Please do not private message me. Only tag me for urgent questions about tapering and reinstating - thank you. ***Please note this is not medical advice. Moderator Emeritus manymoretodays Posted January 26, 2023 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted January 26, 2023 Hey. This one is fiction. And about a human with some notable psychosis, as well as precocious intellectually(really smart in math). It goes along with the visits with her and her psychologist, I believe, after she opted for hospitalization. Trauma-loss too. I sure enjoyed the read. And oh my gosh, I should have noted the pages where she got into a discussion with the clinician about "no drugs".......heh, heh........it was so great. Again, fiction, but interesting and enjoyable read.....and maybe more so if you've ever experienced psychosis......??? I don't know. It so normalized that experience.....or felt that way to me, made sense of it......it just did. Title: Stella Maris Author: Cormac McCarthy 1 Late 2023- gone to emeritus status, inactive, don't @ me, I can check who I've posted on, and I'm not really here like I used to be......thanks. Started with psycho meds/psychiatric care circa 1988. In retrospect, and on contemplation, situational overwhelm. Rounding up to 30 years of medications(30 medication trials, poly-pharmacy maximum was 3 at one time). 5/28/2015-off Adderal salts 2.5mg. (I had been on that since hospital 10/2014) 12/2015---just holding, holding, holding, with trileptal/oxcarb at 75 mg. 1/2 tab at hs. My last psycho med ever! Tapered @ 10% every 4 weeks, sometimes 2 weeks to 2016 Dec 16, medication free!! Longer signature post here, with current supplements. Herb and alcohol free since 5/15/2016. And.....I quit smoking 11/2021. Lapsed. Redo of quit smoking 9/28/2022. Can you say Hallelujah?(took me long enough)💜 None of my posts are intended as medical advice.
