I’ll take 30mg today. I went to the doctor and he said blood pressure was too low. I need to rest and to come back next week. :( It’s just to check.

Tonight, it’s the 1st time I could cry. I thought to all bad things I have endured and I cried. It was not a lot but it’s la big progress for me. I need to recover and fight for justice asap. I was injured.

pbs that remains : crying more when needed, painful sensitive head (pressure and impression to feel my nerves), managing to sleep without pills, low blood pressure some days.

Yesterday I had a light coffee at 4pm because I was too tired. Maybe that’s why I cried in the night ? But I felt a lot better after drinking it and it’s the 1st time I slept so well : 9hours without waking up in the night. Is coffee really bad with benzo ? I stopped coffee only because I don’t know if the mixture with benzo is bad for the baby. Today I did not have one and I was too tired to go for a walk and tidy the house.

I'm very confused about what you're reporting as symptoms.

1) Seresta (oxazepam) typically makes people tired, sleepy, foggy.

2) Pregnancy can make women tired, sleepy, foggy.

3) Blood pressure changes can be a result of pregnancy.

If pregnancy is making your tired and sleepy, taking oxazepam is going to make this worse.

probably but i cannot sleep without Seresta.

If your doctors don't know this, you might have a candid talk with them. You may need new doctors.

Do you mean you reduced from 30mg to 27.5mg oxazepam? It is possible you'll sleep fine on a lower dose. Please let us know how you're doing.

Yes i did but I could not sleep so I went back to 30mg. Anyway i know it’s difficult to sleep during pregnancy.

Hi ! I'm sorry for not writing down my days, but with the pregnancy advancing, I'm exhausted.  I get a lot of sleep during the day and take care of getting the bedroom ready when I'm not too tired.  I still have a lot to buy.  Tonight, I went from 30mg to 27.5mg of Seresta because my brain can't take this drug anymore.  My head is very sensitive to the point that I am in pain if I do not speak quietly.  But I can already see that I am having trouble sleeping. The pain in my head is too high. I need to do something. I did not change anything in my routine. It appears just like that.

Hi

i tapered off yesterday night as I said and I am feeling really bad. I only slept from 1am to 5pm. Usually I sleep from 10.30pm to 8 or 9am.
I am feeling nervous. Usually I am not at all. But my head seems less sensitive at the moment. I managed to sleep at least 4 hours. Should I stay at 27,5mg and see if it improves. Does it improve with time ?

It had the same problem last time I tried to taper off. I went back to 30mg and I was fine. When I take 30mg the pb is that I also feel tired during the day. And with pregnancy it’s getting worse. I need to rest till noon and several hours in the afternoon. I have many things to do and I need to have more energy during the day.

So do you think my sleep can improve if I stayed at 27,5mg instead of 30mg ? How long does it take to feel better ? @Shep Do you think it’s because I went too fast ?

Today is exactly the same : I only slept 5 hours. But if I ve felt a lot better since I decreased Seresta. @Altostrata was right : I do not feel  sleepy all day anymore. My head is much less sensitive. I don’t feel tensed or anxious today. I feel a bit tired and blood pressure is at 9, but I don’t feel « heavy », too sleepy.

I slept 7 hours yesterday :) I was feeling fine all day. At 9pm, I started to feel a bit of pressure in my head.

So I do regret to have taper off. I ll wait a few weeks before decreasing again.

It sounds like you're doing well enough, @Bluemoon3. Taking a rest from tapering for a bit can help your nervous system settle down from the tapering you've done.

Thanks. I don’t know what to decide because my sleeping time is good (btw 7-9hrs each night) but I feel exhausted during the day. I am resting most of the day and I have many things to do.
The decrease was only a bit difficult the 1st two days (i felt tensed). I wonder if it’s safe to taper off again in a few days. 27,5 mg to 25mg ?

I am feeling better. Now I think I sleep too much !

My sleep cycle is reversed. I don’t feel sleepy at night. I take Séresta at 10pm and I fall asleep at 1am or 2am. It’s weird because before it made me sleep one hour after I took it. Do you think Seresta is still working ? But i sleep all morning (till 11am today) and 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon. I know pregnancy is making more and more tired and I really wonder if Seresta is still working. I will try to taper off soon as my head is becoming to sensitive to noise.

It sounds like your current dosage of oxazepam is too strong for you, it's keeping you awake until it wears off a little. If I were you, I'd start decreasing it by 10%. @Shep or @Frogie will give you pointers.

hi @Shep and @Frogie . So do you think I can decrease again ? Last time I did it was Feb 6 (-2,5mg).  Sometimes I sleep 15hours a day ! Usually my sleep routine is : 2am-11am, and 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon. I wake up at least one time (at 6 or 7am) and I sleep again after 15/30min.

i wanted to taper off 2,5mg tonight because my head is very sensitive and i feel tired all day.

@Bluemoon3

Hi:

It looks like you are sleeping quite a bit. Do you feel rested with this amount of sleep? Do you feel that you are stable after your last taper?

I think if you are stable and not having any ill affects you could try a 10% taper, to 24.75 mg or 25.0 mg if that would be easier.

@Shep

Do you agree with this suggestion?

PREVIOUS medications and discontinuations: Have been on medications since 1996.

Valium, Gabapentin, Lamictal, Prilosec and Zantac from 2000 to 2015 with a fast taper by a psychiatrist.

Liquid Lexapro Nov, 2016 to 31-March, 2019 Lexapro free!!! (total Lexapro taper was 4 years-started with pill form)

---CURRENT MEDICATIONS:Supplements:Milk Thistle, Metamucil, Magnesium Citrate, Vitamin D3, Levothyroxine 25mcg, Vitamin C, Krill oil.

Xanax 1mg 3x day June, 2000 to 19-September, 2020 Went from .150 grams (average weight of 1 Xanax) 3x day to .003 grams 3x day. April 1, 2021 went back on 1mg a day. Started tapering May 19, 2023. July 28, 2023-approximately .87mg. Dr. fast tapered me at the end and realized he messed up. Prescribe it again and I am doing "slower than a turtle" taper.

19-September, 2020 Xanax free!!! (total Xanax taper was 15-1/2 months-1-June, 2019-19-September, 2020)

Thanks @Frogie

I decreased to 25mg yesterday. I am happy because I managed to sleep : midnight-10am. The most difficult is after sleeping : i feel nervous, tensed.

My main worries have been sleeping since I stopped neuroleptics. I hope I will be able to sleep without medicine. I know pregnancy makes me very tired and I hope I still will manage to sleep after it.

Hi,

I remember when I was pregnant (both times, 100 years ago lol), I was always very tired. I think that is very normal.

I hope this taper helps and doesn’t affect the sleep that you need.

Take care,

As Alto and Frogie noted, you may be okay with a 10% reduction. However, since you reduced about 8% 7 days ago (February 6) and have now reduced another 9%, please make note of any upticks in symptoms in case you need to updose.

You've now reduced a total of 16.67% since January 13, a little over a month ago.

Let us know how you do.

Hi @Shep

I finally slept 12hours this morning and I woke up because I had an appointment ! I have the impression I could try to reduce more in a couple of weeks as I sleep too much now.

I was not feeling worse. My main problem now is my sensitive head. the more time passes, the more my head hurts.

I have post-traumatic shock.  I am exhausted and have to embark on a long legal battle.  Sometimes I'm afraid that I won't be able to live without a sleep aid. I wake up several times a night seeing horrible scenes and people.

When I was under neuroleptics, I realize all I did or thought was not me. I took bad decisions and was unable to fight for justice. It’s crazy how pills can transform you into a harmless puppet. I'm glad I had the ability to think I had to quit.

I wonder if I still need Seresta to sleep. I take it at 10pm and I don’t sleep before 2am. It should work after 1hr. I used to sleep very late when I don’t work so I ´ m not surprised if it is my normal sleep cycle.

I know I need time to decrease it because of side effects. But I ´ m just wondering if it means I do not need sth to sleep anymore.

Hi

It’s pregnancy which is ruling my sleep. I ve slept too much for weeks and since yesterday it’s different. I like when I was feeling relax and groggy. Now I can’t rest and I feel a bit nervous for no reason. I should be better. We re planning to buy a house and to travel a bit. It’s not before months but it’s good to know.

You've now reduced a total of 16.67% since January 13, a little over a month ago.

There's a reason we advise tapering more gradually, and that is to avoid withdrawal symptoms such as rebound insomnia.

With the pregnancy, it may be best for you to cope with uneven sleep for a while and make another reduction of Seresta when it settles out.

Hi

I decreased on Wednesday. I was fine for 2 days. Usually sleep pbs start right after a decrease and last for 1 to 3 days. So I dont understand.

Now I only sleep 5 hrs a night and I feel tensed all day.

I speak with other pregnant women. It’s normal to have insomnia or sleep too much. It’s hormones and baby growing fast. It’s not normal to feel tensed all day.

I am scared to feel worse after delivery. But I dream to stop Seresta. My head is too painful to live a normal life. I wonder if I should not try sth else after delivery.

Hi

My sleep has been irregular for the past few days.  I sleep around midnight - 2am until 5 am-6am.  I can't get back to sleep and then I sleep from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.-1 p.m.  I feel very awake at 6am and groggy at 11am!  I do not understand anything !

Hi
the more time passes, the more seresta hurts my head. It’s very difficult to bear. I wonder if I can feel a lot worst if I taper off. What are the risks ?

I decreased of2,5mg yesterday and I slept 12hrs ! My head feels less sensitive each time I decrease. At the moment, I am fine. I hope I won’t feel tensed. I will try to decrease again in a few days if i am still fine. It’s too difficult to live with such feelings inside my head.

Hi

I decreased again tonight. I have been sleeping most of the day. I am taking 20mg. I know it’s a lot this month but I sleep so much I cannot do what I have to. And the doctor told me to try to decrease asap for the baby.

Hi

So I decreased yesterday night and I did not sleep well. I feel very tired this morning but I am too tensed to sleep. I don’t know how many hours I manage to sleep. I remember at 4am I was not sleeping. I feel like I have dozed off all night.

But a really good thing : my head is a lot less painful. It was a nightmare to live with such a painful head. So I wonder if I should take again 22,5mg tonight or if i wait and see if I get used to 20mg. So I am exhausted but a lot happier not to have those awful feelings in my head.

i don’t know how covid impacts your life but it’s changing mine a lot. And it’s adding difficulties to my withdrawal.

I've re-formatted your signature so you have more room. It's not as pretty, but all the information is there and you should have the room you need to make more updates as you decrease your dose.

Hi !

I saw the doctor. I am sleeping too much and I feel good. He told me to decrease again every 3/5 days... It’s better for the baby.
