Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)

I don't find informations about it in the site (but if it's not a right place to post it, please some moderators to move it). I would to ask if someone tried this supplement often prescribed for fibromyalgic pain (that sometimes could be similar to pain induced by WD) and had some benefits.

July 2015: the 20mg citalopram for great stress begins

After two years I start tapering (slow but without medical advice) and I guess wrongly. First up to 10 mg, then 5 mg and 2 mg (liquid solution) and skips

January 2020 (I don't remember exactly the day): off citalopram (last dose 2mg).

June 2020: adrenal crash. The beginning of Hell on Earth

 

Current supplement:

- saffron pill (20 mg) + vit. E, omega 3 (EPA + DHA) 2g, magnesium bisglycinate 300 mg, iron , vitamin D3 (2500ui) +K7 (50 ui), vitamin C (1g) + quercitin (25 mg), theanine (as necessary).

 

Try meditating / mindfulness, walking every day, CBT/ACT, massage.

Many years ago it helped my small fiber neuropathy.

Prior meds: Trazodone a few years ago. Low dose for sleep. Didn't work. Tapered off quickly. Many years ago: Severe adverse reaction to Prozac. Short trial of Zoloft with rapid, ugly taper.

2012-2013 Prescribed Xanax for severe insomnia. Became dependent quickly. Dose up to 1.8mg. 

Nov. 2014 New doctor anti-benzo but thought a 4-month taper was safe. Failed and stopped due to extreme symptoms. Added 25mg Seroquel for sleep 2 hours before bed. Also take gabapentin (400mg x 2).

June 2015 Crossed to Valium. 30mg V (3 x 10mg). 

August 3, 2019 .01mg V. Last dose tonight.

January 2020 began to taper Q and G (dang, I can't remember which one I did first)

July 2020 Now taking 100mg gabapentin 3x/day and 20mg of Seroquel at night for sleep.

September 2020 down to half a Q tablet (12.5mg), holding Q, tapering gabapentin with difficulty, down to 100mg at bedtime

November: back to 100mg gabapentin 3x/day, still at 12.5mg Q (2 hours before bed as sleep aid, but I think it is burned out)

December: Added 20mg of propranolol and 1/2mg melatonin 1 1/2 hours before bed

It was over a month before I saw benefits. Also, I took twice what the label said divided into 3 doses/day (one with each meal). 

 

I think the package said to try for 6 weeks before deciding it didn't work. I'm sorry, it was long ago and my memory is not great.
