The physio tried this with me over 4 weeks I think and unfortunately I had no improvement :( I was so confident it would work as well. I guess there is so many different reasons why we could have this issue.

Really pleased it has worked for you, gives you some control.

Hi @DinaDina@morgana, the tens is not working anymore. I have big flares of bladder pain and pain in ****** and urethra. I will have an cystoscopy in a few weeks. Thinking of IC. Did any of you had that?

hi @DutchMaddy, i am sorry to hear the bad news...i had a test for UTI came back fine, Dr said alright we will do an ultra sound of your kidneys and bladder, which i had on Friday will go back this week for the result, she did say if the test comes back fine...there is nothing more we can do...as everything will be fine....she did offer anxiety medication for it....which  will i not take...

i just know my tests will come back fine...however she said i do have a cyst i my uterus which  new i had 3 years back, she said it may be growing and pressing on something which may be causing the frequent urination, i have a referral at the hospital which she gave me 3 weeks ago but havnt heard from the hospital yet for a booking....she said they are proberly busy!.....

this frequent urination really affects my ability to sleep at night...

why do you think the TENS stopped working?

Hi @DinaDinai think it might me a coincidence that it worked. It flares. Sometimes very little pain and sometimes bad. I had the ultrasound of kidneys and the flowmetrie but I have now asked for a cystoscopy. I have to know for sure that it is not IC. I think it is all paws because I also have burning legs. It’s seems like over sensitised nerves. But it makes my withdrawal so much harder op top of my depression and anxiety( not all the time) and other withdrawal issues. I also have good days en small windows but the pain is bad ( pain medication does not help). So sorry to hear that you have trouble also with you’re bladder. Maybe when the cyste is removed you will feel better. Do you also have pain? And dit you already had a cystoscopy ?

take care🌹

lol thats OK @DutchMaddy while reading it i a was thinking that sure sounds like me...lol

i am sorry you are doing it tough too, what happens with me is i constantly urinate while trying to sleep...i wake up in a burning hot sweat and needing to urinate at the same time, i honestly think its my CNS having a hard time trying to cope....and i find when i meditate the need to "wee" goes away which is when i am relaxed...i say it has alot to do with anxiety as zyprexa which is what i am on is basically a major tranquilizer and my body has to learn to deal with stress now without it..that is my idea..which is why the Dr probably thinks this is also as she said if tests come back fine all she can offer is anxiety medication...or put up with it!...however what i find helps is Cranberry tablets, basically cranberry juice but as a supplement...i find if i take a couple of them before bed it reduces my need....try that and see if it helps with you alittle...

i think i have a referral to the hospital for  something that goes inside me, it could be what you call it...i say it is...the ultra sound told me i have a cyst inside my uterus but needs to get inside to have a better look to see if its getting bigger or is cancerous...

i just wish it would go away....

I was the same with the cystoscopy that I needed to know I didn't have visible IC lesions on the camera. Make sure you speak to the nurse about your concerns of IC. I had a nice lady explain it all to me after. I had a reduction of pain after that camera, I think it took some anxiety and worrying away which allowed my tense muscles to ease off a bit.

On the other hand I was hoping they would actually find something to explain the symptoms so I could get some kind of treatment.

Hi @morgana cranberry’s are good for Uti but they are very bad for overactive bladder because they stimulate the bladder big time! Take D mannose for preventing Uti. They prevent the e-coli bacteria from getting an infection. You’re bladder is already overstimulated. No matter the cause. So try avoid citrusfruits, tomato’s alcohol coffee cola and spicey foods. I hope it will help you. Usually Cystes are benign.
I am a nurse and very well educated except for Paws 😥. I hope we will find release soon. I will let the doctors check me out for this pain and if everything is good than I hope I find more peace in my withdrawal.

@Boris thank you. I understand what you’re saying. If everything checkes out well than maybe I can relax more. It it especially difficult because normal pain killers do not help. And I will not turn to opiates or AD🤬. I am so happy for you Boris that you are on the other side. You had a very tough journey!
thank you both. And have a nice day🌹

I decided not have a cystoscopy because IC doesn't have a cure. I know that people with iC take AD (Amitriptyline) and I won't to take it anyway. Moreover, I haven't had bladder issues before AD. I tend to think that my bladder issues are WD.

The urologist said : everything is fine I am not doing a cystoscopy because I am sure you don’t have IC. And you are right, even if I have IC, it is not something I want to bother with during withdrawal. If withdrawal is over ( oh glorious day) I will attend my bladder issues if they are still there. I hope they will eventually diasapear like with Boris and that they are just stupid nerves😞

I have only bladder/genital issues now. If I didn't have another symptoms when my WD started, I would think that it wasn't WD but I had. That's why I suppose that bladder issues are also part of WD.

So, I have been without AD for 8 months. I still have problems with bladder and genitals. I can't understand I'm becoming better or not, I just try to live. But this life is miserable. It seems I'm depressed and It's funny because I have never been depressed before AD.

Did somebody have urethra pressure? I can't explain this symptom, it's really weird. Looks like I always have want to pee by urethra/clit instead by bladder. I'm tired. It's really hard to believe that it can recover.

Yes but I'm male, I had this and I absolutely hated it. It would be in the end of my penis. I even told the doctor that I'd forgotten how it feels to need to pee normally. I would pee to get rid of it for a few mins then it would start again.

Good news it was one of the first symptoms to go. I was quite an extreme case and it had it a while. I was using ice and heat packs to try change the sensation.

January 2013 - 5mg Seroxat, 300mg  Lyrica

April 2017 - Successfully get off Seroxat with taper followed by 4 month of withdrawal

January 2018 - Start with constant urinary urge/pain/burning/genital sensations 2 week after anxiety/akathesia ends

January 2019 - Started reducing Lyrica as I suspect it's causing frequent urination, tinnitus, fatigue, brain fog and mental decline.

December 2019 - Off all pysch meds

I drink coffee again. I hadn't drunk it since February. It seems coffee doesn't affect my bladder and anxiety.

I visited a dentist yesterday. I asked an anesthesia without adrenaline but I made worse after it. I have constant urge, bladder pain and genital sensations. I don't know what the reason is. Perhaps, I was uptight (I'm afraid of dentists) and it caused a bladder spasm. I'm so sad. I haven't treated me teeth since starting AD, so I have many teeth issues and I don't know how I may continue a treatment.

You will get this! Try to relax. You have conquered so much more in you’re withdrawal then having you’re teeth fixed. You can handle this. You are strong!
