geeman1
Ive been on Lexapro for 4 days. Side effects are crazy anxiety but the main one is stomach issues. I currently have stomach problems but this has exacerbated it. Im scared to stop cold turkey. Should I go down to 2.5 for a couple of days or just stop? Thanks. Moderator Emeritus Gridley Posted March 3, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 3, 2021 Welcome to SA, geeman1. If you've been on it for only 4 days, you can just stop. You are having an adverse reaction to the drug. This means the drug is like poison to you. With an adverse reaction, it may take some time for the symptoms to go away. We don't recommend taking another drug to deal with your symptoms. To give members the best information, we ask them to summarize their medication history in a signature -- drugs, doses, dates, and discontinuations & reinstatements, in the last 12-24 months particularly. Account Settings – Create or Edit a signature. We don't recommend a lot of supplements on SA, as many members report being sensitive to them due to our over-reactive nervous systems, but two supplements that we do recommend are magnesium and omega 3 (fish oil). Many people find these to be calming to the nervous system. Magnesium, nature's calcium channel blocker Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) Add in one at a time and at a low dose in case you do experience problems. Get supplements that ae single ingredient (not mixed with other types of supplements). This is your Introduction topic, where you can complete your drug signature, ask questions and connect with other members. We're glad you found your way here. geeman1
Thank you. The first 3 days when I was on 5 I was also taking prilosec - which may have made the 5 - stronger than 5. But if you think I can just stop without weaning - thanks for the info. Link to comment
