Elisabeth1
Hi there, Does anybody get help from a psychiatrist to get through a wave? And if so (or not) what kind of support is helpful for you? I find myself looking for help but PAWS is (still) unknown in The Netherlands. I am not even sure what to ask for but some moral support would be so welcome! Any suggestions?? August 1988-Jan 2019 - 20 mg seroxat Jan 2019-Jan 2020 - tapered from 20 mg to 2,6 mg seroxat Feb 2020 - 2,6 mg seroxat - First severe panic attack Back on ssri: from sertraline, venlafaxine, mirtazapine to fluoxetine - no effect at all July 2020 - tapered down fluoxetine to 0 - finally AD free after 32 years!! Many waves and windows but I had no clue I was having withdrawel, untill: Feb 2021 : 17 window days - 11 wave days March 2021: 6 wave days - 25 window days Link to post
almuPA
Hello @Elisabeth1 , maybe the moderators or someone with more experience than me is better to answer this question. I will only Talk about what I've encountered here where I live (UK), maybe other people have different opinion or experience. Ater talking to 5 different therapist, none of them believed me when I explained about AD WD. However, I found that working in the áreas for what I was put on AD in the beginning and finding techniques to manage my anxiety throught CBT has helped to manage a bit the waves. March 2019: 10mg Citalopram April 2019: 20mg Citalopram October/November 2019(sorry, I don't remember the exact date): 10mg of Citalopram without tapering, as suggested by my pharmacist. March 2020: Started "tapering", taking the 10mg of Citalopram every other day, again, following the recommendations of my pharmacist. April 2020: Stopped taking Citalopram. I haven't reinstall since then. I've tried taking Magnesium a couple of times, but I found out it makes me nervous. I only take Paracetemol when the headache becomes unbearable (2gr every couple of weeks or so). Link to post

Elisabeth1
Thank you @Nomansland for your info. I have already tapered off since July 2020 but suffer from the waves (14 days in a row now). This article is mainly about slow tapering.. I hope there is an article on how to deal with the waves. I realize this might be an utopi because every wave is different and so are we, but there must be something in common that helps.... even maybe just a little bit?
