Stopping birth control after withdrawal due to depressive mood

Hello everybody,

I stopped taking fluoxetine 6 months ago followed by severe symptoms of withdrawal. By now I'm feeling much better but some symptoms are still present. During the last weeks I struggled a lot with my mood which is very unstable and often depressive. So I thought about stopping my birth control pill which might contribute to my low mood.

Did anyone stop taking birth control pills during or after WD? Has it improved anything or adversely worsened symptoms?

2014: started fluoxetine 30mg
spring 2017: stopped fluoxetine after tapering for a few weeks (not sure how long exactly)
summer/autumn 2017: heavy withdrawal symptoms
october 2017: back on fluoxetine 20mg
september 2020: off fluoxetine after tapering off in steps of 5mg each month
