bibia
Hello, my name is Bia, I'm from Brazil and I'm only 16!! I don't know much about this forum and since I'm brazilian my english knowledge is limited, so if I'm doing something wrong please let me know 😄😄 It's been 7months since I started taking Paroxetine, and happened that I forgot to take for two days and I know after reading about I realized that I'm having 'brain zaps'. The reason why I'm here is to know if, when you start taking your medication again the symptoms will stop?? I'm a teenager who needs to study for high school and these brain zaps really distract me... my mom is already mad at me for forgetting to take the pills I don't have anything to do I really need some help right now to know that everything is going to be okay 🙁🙁 Link to comment
Moderator Emeritus ChessieCat Posted March 22, 2021 Moderator Emeritus Share Posted March 22, 2021 Hellow bibia and welcome to SA, Yes the brain zaps are being caused from forgetting to take your paroxetine. I had this happen when I forgot to take my Pristiq. You can start taking it again and the brain zaps will hopefully stop, or reduce, within the next 24 hours. For me the zaps would stop after about 4 hours after taking my dose again. Please note that it is important to take your dose at about the same time every day. If you wish to stop taking paroxetine at any time in the future, then it is best to taper it. I will give you the information so you know what to do. If you want any more information about stopping your drug, please post here in your Introduction topic so we can help you. Why taper by 10% of my dosage?
