I’m glad you’re doing ok.  I’m In a tough spot today.  My symptoms change each day. Yesterday i was completely jumpy and sensitive to things.  Today, it’s a feeling of sadness and surges in my chest that I think is fear?   I was pacing a lot because of the discomfort. Honestly it’s like i was 7-9 months ago but no anxiety.  I’m hoping this wave passes quickly.  I’m really starting to question the impact melatonin has had on my recovery since i reduced it a few weeks ago and my symptoms ramped up.  May be coincidence but I’m thinking there is something to this.

anyway, keep up the positive vibes.  We’ll get there.  One day at a time!

The further I get into withdraw , the more I’m scared of every move I make everything I eat ( making withdraw worse ) , how much water I’m drinking ( so I don’t  get a full blown uti and have to take antibiotics) don’t get stressed , don’t get over stimulated 😞I feel like there’s booby traps everywhere and I can’t live , but if I do I can potentially be set back and make things way worse then they already are... I’m exhausted I’m tired of pretending , I’m tired of worrying , I wish I would have never taken that pill , I miss me , I see pictures of myself and watch videos of me and I her so much !!!! 3 weeks of celexa , ruined my life , it should be illegal, and I’m only one human with in thousands that are suffering from this god aweful withdraw , I feel so trapped !!! With no way out... my heart is so broken by this

Hey hang in there I agree with you, these drugs should be banned completely!!!!!! But you will heal hang in there , breathe , cherish the windows it will get better it has for lots of people and will for us too.

2018 - Zoloft for 5 days then CT due to severe nausea , no severe withdrawals and no adverse reaction.

OCT 2020- vitamin D (5000iu) -which I know now is too high dosage and looking back it now I realize it was causing mood issues, which led me to search for ADs.

2021 - Paxil 3 days  (Feb 16,17,18)CT due to severe nausea ( side note day of CT I got my second dose of covid 19 vaccine which could have further destabilized my CNS) then 4 weeks later severe adverse reaction that included every single WD symptom on here.

2021- month out ( April 05, 07)not knowing what was going on went to ER twice and was placed on hydroxyzine and Reglan (anti-nausea) ( which I know now affects serotonin levels also) nothing helped.

Then went to two different psychiatrists one who referred me to GI for the nausea denying Paxil had anything to do with my symptoms, the second one prescribed me Buspirone Klonopin, and Trazadone ( I refused to take neither , thank God) I had feeling it still was the Paxil.

April 30th -CT everything Bc nothing was helping and miraculously found this website SA and saw every symptom I was going through.

Currently no drugs, only fish oil in the evenings. !!!

Yes this isn’t you, and that’s the devastating piece, we begin to believe this is us, and it’s not, we will get better, but we will have the trauma, but in time it will all get better I promise, bad days will be there , but they will be like the good old bad days. I hate these meds as much as you do, but rn all we can do is heal !

This is temporary.  You will get back to feeling that you are yourself.  In the meantime, I understand how distressed you are.  I remember that feeling very well, but please do not think this is permanent.  -Rosetta

Melatonin is ok for many people, but it should be tapered.

Yes, my cycle caused me so much trouble in withdrawal.  Still does, but it’s milder.  Both ovulation and menstruation hormones give me trouble.   Sadly, I think that if I had not ever taken anti-depressants that would have been much less of a problem through the last three decades.

It may not be too much.  If your body is used to it, it’s ok.  Starting at that dose after wd set in might be too much.  When did you start taking it?  Before wd? Maybe it’s fine, but don’t suddenly drop the dose a lot.

I took Celexa from 2000 or 2001 to 2011 and Zoloft from 2011 to 2017. Before that I had various ADs for short periods — a few days, a week.

@Phoenixmama It's ok, I completely understand. The feelings we get truly are overwhelming and can be very hard to handle. I remember how they felt and am amazed that I was able to make it through that period, but the great news is I did make it through and so will you! Just remember that they are only feelings! As scary and as overwhelming as they can be, they will come and go. This is truly non-linear healing. It's a 1 step forward, 3 steps back, 5 steps forward, 2 steps back process. But healing is taking place! Just hang in there as best as you can! No need to apologize at all! You are doing awesome and you will make it through this :)

I think adverse reactions can mild enough that people go on taking the drug and get dependent.  Once the brain and nervous system adjusts to the drug being there, the upset it caused settles out.  The odd disturbances are called start up symptoms.  It’s all so perverse.

You could have had an adverse reaction at first.  Then raised the dose and had another, but you could also have become dependent in the short time you took it.  Or not.  Both adverse reactions and withdrawal result in a dysfunction of the nervous system that manages hormones, neurotransmitters, and who know what else.  It’s the same condition in both instances.  The condition could be more severe for an adverse reaction or not.  I understand why it matters to you, of course.  For the purpose of healing and managing the dysautonomia, that’s not important except that any reinstatement by a person with an adverse reaction might be considered somewhat more risky.

@KenA thanks for your reply , I’m just so curious why there isn’t a clinic for ssri withdraw by now because there’s so many people suffering and it’s nothing new.... I feel so embarrassed and guilty that I’m just finding out about withdraw from ssri’s and the fact that I just a couple weeks ago found out that my 77 year old grandmother went threw it two years ago alone... I’m very amazed that no one has came up with a rehab like they have for street drugs... no doctor interested in it ?
